It's already impossible to get invited to keys. Raids rarely bringing more than one warlock (just for the summon let's be honest) If we don't get buffs, it is either a reroll or quit angle :(
I've been a lock main for over a decade and this is the most dire its felt. I started casually playing with an Ele Shaman this week and here are some things I noted: * While your AoE stun still takes time, it doesn't have a 1.5 second cast time (However, totem is also not reduced by Haste). * Your AOE isn't completely shut down by a tank moving five feet (This is mostly a destro complaint due to Cata/RoF) * 12 second CD interrupt instead of 24/30 is real nice. * Spiritwalker's Grace and Nature's Swiftness means movement phases almost have zero impact on my damage. * While I love cheesing mechanics with demonic circle, burning rush just straight up sucks - It requires a macro to cancel properly and I'd rather just have Ghost Wolf. I also have Gust of Wind as a Shaman for immediate movement and can talent ghost wolf to free me from binds. I miss the Night Fae movement ability. * There's really no way to screw up your rotation the same way Demo can get completely out of alignment because your imps fell off while you had to move right after casting vilefiend but didnt get Tyrant off yet. * Utility! Having a unique raid/party buff is nice. Earthbind Totem is nice. Poison Cleansing Totem is nice. Thunderstorm is nice. Bloodlust is great. Nicer than "COOKIES PLEASE" when you just put them down one pull ago and pinged them. Sure, gatways have a few good use cases, but the 90 second cooldown on using them a second time hurts any potential they have in m+. Soulstone having a cast time also makes it worse than instant cast brez from other classes. Simple fix (maybe not from coding standpoint) would be make it instant on dead targets, cast time on live targets. * While Stormkeeper has a cast, Ascendence and Storm Elemental do not, which make your big damage buffs just much more fluid than Demo and its cast time for both Vile Fiend and Tyrant. Not sure why Tyrant isn't instant when Infernal and Darkglare are.
thanks for the QRD, im honestly rerolling into ele shaman after server is up with the exp buff, destro honestly have too many flaw except mobility and i fucking hate how RoF works adds died too early and ur wasting RoF's value adds moved out of your RoF and ur wasting ur RoF's value havoc up and you are still casting RoF under 6 targets? ur wasting ur RoF's value and no need to mention RoF does ass damage while everyone destroyed most adds within 1~4 seconds in Nerub, and this will be worse after 11.0.5 patch because some smart ass at blizzard decides to buff most classes except us and most specs press like 2 or 3 buttons and can easily double our dps in terms of burst and as a destro you are busy counting nameplate, constantly checking nameplate's health, constantly looking for mayhem proc, deciding when to send chaos bolt and when to send RoF, hoping ruination procs at the right time, holding diabolic ritual before ruination before adds phase, hoping your ruination hits right after the adds spawn because it has a 1 second animation doing all this while doing mediocre damage and is expecting an AOE nerf? literally rofl
There aren't enough warlocks to cry. I'm rank #3 on my server for hitting 2500 io, nobody plays this damn class LOL. To give some context, the DKs in my guild are 2500 as well, but they're rank 30..
The commentary from the DEV on our Nerf on Patchnote show that they are completely disconnected from the game. Telling us that we use RoF on ST tell us that they are still stuck in the TWW Beta build .... so unprofessional
Blizz priorities specs that ppl play hence arcane. It is getting a bug fix, which made it better. No reason they wouldn't nerf it back to where it is now.
its funny seeing a comment like this when all through (if not most) of shadowlands and Dragonflight blizzard gave a lot of love to locks are they were Powerful back then.
They dont only needs buffs they also need a completely different design philosphy. - Passive curse application like rogues - Raid buff - a lot more mobility - Decouple MC and HoT - Hot uncapped - Reduce ramps as aff and demo massively - instant pet summons - more pet variability - etc.
It’s tough cause some of those changes make lock too strong in PvP. But I will say, our class talent tree is absolutely fuckn scuffed. Some talents are utterly useless and no one ever picks them anymore. 4% leech for 15 seconds after using a health stone? Has anyone ever taken that? It would be worth picking if it was like… 40% maybe. 4%? Utter trash. And our tree is full of talents like this. Soul conduit as a capstone? 2 points to buff a useless drain life? Shadow fury being a cast, so that by the time it goes off the opportunity is gone? So many talents for warlock are just sooooooo bad, unused, or we are forced to get to just get basic damage talents. I have a frost dk, and it’s kinda wild the difference between the toolkit in pve.
It has always bugged me that as the MASTER OF DEMONS, Demonology is hardlocked to a single pet that has a worse CD on interrupt than Felhunter (yeah, it can stun, big whoop) but no way to cleanse. There are plenty of fights where having the imp out is great for Destro/Aff. Too much of the spec is built around Felguard for it to change any time outside of a new expansion, though.
I agree with some. I play aff a lot and though I love the idea the class is a bit awkward to play. Personally I really liked lich king's afflocks the most, even more than Pandaria's. The ramp up was slow but they had a great execute phase, which for a dotting class focused on sustained damage makes sense. They already have great utility in portals and stones, I'd capitalize on that sort of utility rather than raid buffs. And afflock in M+ needs a big rework. Either fixing Vile Taint so that its cd lines up with agony's duration, not making it an optional talent competing with phantom singularity, or having an aoe spell that doesn't require targeting and isn't a spender (like rain of fire), otherwise there are alot of weird moments when you can't use any aoe spells because both rapture and seed of corruption need shards. And while we're at it, Rapture just having a cooler animation, since i think it's fine as a spell but just boring to look at. Haven't played demo and destro in quite some time but I have been noticing not as many warlocks around in raids.
@@Nealm85 Just give us the special ability of all demons without having to have them out. make a nice animation like with diabolist were the demon apears, makes his special ability and disapears again.
We would be usefull in m+ if we havent to curse all mobs separatly, it takes too much time. just give us a ability were HoG or other aoe abilities applies the corrects curse, like the venthyr ability
I'm very concerned about the justification for the change to rain of fire, they made it sound like rain of fire was being abused in single target which obviously is no longer the case since the fix long ago. I would love to hear your opinions on warlock utility and maybe talk to some high end m+ warlocks to get their take on the situation of warlock in the top keys.
Tbh warlock isn't awful in high keys. I'm doing 12s right now and keep up with everyone else just fine, especially if I don't brick spymasters by dying
@@oblivion9989 I was referring to high end m+ keys where class utility (and aoe stops before they gutted them) are required. I don't mean to come off elitist by any means but you can definetely brute force 12s, especially with current gear and after nerfs to the 12 and above affix. My complaint, which I might be alone in having, is when you compare warlock to the add control of a dk or poison cleansing, bl, AG, etc. of shaman . Kick cd is another attrocious thing. Even shadowfury is underwhelming after the giant nerf to aoe stops, which arguably was the only thing we offered in that department. Fear is incomparable to hex and polymorph (requiring you to talent to not risk ninjapull). I barely even want to get started on demonology interrupt not being able to group casters. Destruction and demonology both offer incredibly weak dps profiles due to them not having any strong funnel or single target priority (unless you count soulfire comparable to the giants of this profile such as fire, arcane, shadow and even fdk). Affliction warlock is the one redeeming quality of the class right now in my opinion due to its incredibly rewarding and intuitive ST priority dps profile. However it is incomparable to the other specs mentioned in so many ways. I understand if you saw this block of text and dont wish to read it. I might be incredibly biased and in the wrong but I don't know, this is my opinion.
@@TheSimonology I agree with everything you say here for sure. Unfortunately a lot of these problems stem way further back than the current season. Over the course of the years with button bloat (especially with DF talent trees) a lot of classes (cough cough mage) got a lot of utility while still being balanced around the same overall dps numbers as everyone else (I.e. warlock)

This is the root cause of why I would love for Kalamazi to get in touch with various warlocks and get their opinions and feedback on how to potentially solve these issues. Not necessarily warlocks alone but m+ focused people. It certainly feels like blizzard has prioritized tuning around the raid a ton more than m+. I think this is also a reason why we so rarely see changes in class utility in contrast to damage output. Might be anecdotal evidence but it feels like blizzard has caught the eye of Kalamazi's content and indirectly the feedback and suggestions that he has brought up historically. :D
I remember the days of Warlods of Draenor. During that time, Blizz had a vendetta against locks because of Xelnath. They severely nerfed locks every patch. It got to a point where I happy just to not be included in a patch.
I don’t get us warlocks getting nerfs when all 3 specs of lock are the worst specs in the game. And usually a class with 3 dps specs at least have one good spec and lock is literally just nothing but trash atm. More important as a demo main this spec just needs a complete revert back to demo in season 1 or 2 of DF because having no movement in a game that makes you do nothing but always move makes no sense.

Locks are not at the bottom at all, all specs are in the middle of the pack with an average of 1.2M in M+, top being around 1.6M. The best 3 specs have a 1.3-1.5M average and 1.7-1.8M top dmg. It's barely 10% difference.
And yet all we heard in beta was how great lock was going to be. Saw countless videos where lock was on “best classes to main” lists. So from all that to this. Makes no sense.
Yes Playstyle is great, and as all those videos said NUMBERS CHANGE, and the numbers are low, but the playstyle is great, but numbers are more important.
As a main lock (and ranged dps player) since lich, and a quite high end warlock player specially on M+ (currently over 3k io), i already got a couple other casters (mage sham) geared for reroll for first time ever. Luckily im going away for 2 weeks on vacation, hoping we get a aura buff when I come back.
Warlock feels so good to play now compared to past few expansions so it's sad to see that it is that bad numerically when that is the easiest thing to fix. Also sad for that aoe destro nerf. Not so much that it nerfs our damage but the fun of the aoe rotation. Whenever a diabolist demon pops up it changes what you do and spices up the rotation a bit which will now happen way less frequently in aoe. Can't help but think that there was a better way to ensure we don't rain of fire on ST (which wasn't even happening right now anyway).
Playstyle change is majorly needed for both, mainly Aff and Destro. The ramp up time for Aff is horendous in keys and even worse if your VT doesnt come off cd for packs. Having to manualy cast agony and then Seed whilst other classes are already full pump is a ball buster. Save us Lord Kala
Since we were utility bots in Mythic raids i rerolled to frost dk and made nothing wrong now since buff, had more dps on 610ilvl than my warlock with 625 smth wrong in this game
no one asks to have 3 spec dps S+++ tier god like extreme, but the current state is very poor... 11.0.5 is humiliating, where they managed to change only the soul rot icon when for several years it has been asking for at least one glyph to have the old shadowbolt (present in the current game and used by some mobs in hellfire citadel). The class not only has rather obvious tuning problems, but above all it has archaic gameplay that they never want to try to improve. Indeed, when it seems that something is going in the right direction (Demonology in DF) they destroy everything to make everything slower and more immobile. Now I play the warlock only because it's my first and practically only PC since 2004 out of nostalgia, like when you're grown up and disappointed and go back to a nice place in your childhood 😢
Demo in DF got worse with every Patch. Even the talent rework left demo in worse state than SL S3. I think you mean SL. The only good gameplay improvements in DF was s3 tier bonus (we got a similar but slighty worse version now) and imp gang boss in aoe (completely neutered/removed to be boring %dmg increase)
Class balance responsible developers are proving that they are incompetent over and over again. They buff already S tier specs while nerfing classes that are already struggling. Then after Wowhead post they suddenly nerf FDK and arcane mage. Its like showing they have no clue what they are doing. I always thought that Blizzards tools to measure class DPS were superior to the community tools, but I don't think that is the case anymore.

Almost no point playing the class at this point. No matter what you do you are not rewarded with dps output and other classes have outrageous group and cc utility whilst proving massive dps with little to no ramp.
I can't think of a logical reason as of why they needed to nerf warlock, dps was mediocre at best, and classes that actually needed nerfs are getting buffs. Maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture here, but it seems like the balance team fcked up, again. I really hope we get some buffs on the future
I was really disappointed reading the patch notes for warlock. After seeing the huge paladin ‘rework’, I was hopeful for a moment but then was stabbed in the heart
Honestly happier than I've been the last few expansions - the class is fun to play, which is more than I can say was the state when it was PI or bust demonology etc and all of the specs seem viable and have some build variance with talent trees that aren't just % damage increases that should be basic tuning like they were at the end of DF. The lack of basic number dial tuning is surprising though for a pure dps class and I'm astounded at how much they're just leaving Hellcaller to rot despite feeling the need to fiddle with Diabolist talents to fix problems that they had already fixed months prior.
I'm enjoying it too. I don't remember the last expansion where I could basically freely swap between specs in nearly all situations. Just need that knob to go up
Switched back to my Marksman Hunter at level 71 and what a difference in DPS although low I'm burning through mobs at that level I could not on my Destruction Warlock.
I hate that we're being numerically dumped on since the gameplay loop for all 3 specs is actually pretty good in my opinion, much better than Shadowlands and DF. But I feel we're gonna enter into an extremely long period of warlock's DPS numbers being subpar...which get people depressed, call for changes...and they'll use that as a signal to overhaul the specs again for more raw damage output, but strip out a bunch of the currently fun stuff like Shadowburns, lots of demons, etc. Also, I don't really understand how they view balancing anymore at all. WarcraftLogs gives a pretty clear statistical breakdown of how many percent any given spec is ahead in various types of content. You can't perfectly balance with aura buffs, I get that...but they keep trying these hotfix types patches on Fire Mage or Fury Warrior, etc. where it fixes one side of their broken nature...but does nothing in other types of content. I feel like they need to sit down and do the math, use aura buffs/nerfs to reign everything into a comfortable 3%-/+ range, and only then start looking at specific abilities...the baseline balance is just rotten right now (and honestly has been since Shadowlands dropped).
Arcane mage getting buffed, were getting nerfed. its a f***** crime. its not that hard. just give us a 5%-10% aura buff and go onwards to 11.07/11.1 looking more into the class. Its a joke.
They said in a blue post they're planning on tuning for some classes on the maintenance on 30th. Let's cross fingers toes and other stuff for Warlocks to make that list..!! 🤘🏻😎
Was actually shocked when I saw the patch notes, some classes that are doing really well getting a fucking novel worth of changes and buffs and then I scroll to lock and its a few destro things and soul rot icon change. Insane to look at the DPS rankings and not give locks as a whole a buff while buffing already strong specs.
They still force us to choose ROF buff or Cata... which is the one thing we have repeatedly asked to change in the tree. Just have ROF or cata apply the 3% buff without needing the talent. Cataclysm needs a shorter CD or we need a proc to renew the CD and make it instant cast. CDF should be castable while moving Our AOE in general is only decent in higher keys where we can cast multiple ROF. They need to buff the incinerate cleaving damage. Also, havoc is ok for cleave but an alternate talent would be nice that splashes havoc damage to multiple enemies similar to how chaos bolt used to do lackluster aoe damage. A small chance to proc a 5 second havoc that only lasts for a cast or two, or not at all if we have to move. They should make the application a debuff like ret pally judgment. In general, the class design just feels horrible right now. Playing mage there is a really nice fluidity to their aoe rotations and they have things like glacial spike, flamestrike, and ice lance that do enormous cleave without needing setup. Just like DKs needing D and D to cleave, this design is just outdated. There is so much potential in our tree to be up there with other classes in aoe but the talents are severely undertuned. Some might disagree but I enjoyed the rift build last expansion and would love to see them 1. tune it properly and 2. produce on demand aoe damage that isn't just another ROF. I don't usually whine and try to adjust to whatever, but nerfing our aoe to make chaos bolt more favorable for ST and giving us nothing in return is just carelessness. I'm not sure what the devs are doing. They seemed like they were really listening for awhile then completely went the opposite direction we told them to.
The 11.0.5 changes are major class changes they had to cut from beta to ship the expansion, it looks like almost no tuning action has been taken on them. 4 of the top 5 specs in boss damage on warcraft logs were buffed while 3 of bottom 10 specs were nerfed. There will have to be some drastic hotfix aura tuning coming for a lot more than just warlock because the changes being implemented today are going to take a season with okay but not great balance and make the best specs better and the worst specs worse. Coupled with all the negativity around the feel of M+ due to overtuning of dungeons and nerfed gear progression, its a recipe for a very very bad play experience.
Blizzard has fully taken on ending fun. Warlock is a full dps class. We are doing less damage than hybrid classes. I can't play affliction. I need audio queues to know when something is available to cast. I don't have any idea how to get an audio queue for when a dot is in the pandemic state. I just play demonology currently. I was really bad at destruction in shadowlands. I don't know what to do but to be good at mechanics and being mediocre at damage.
Laughs in Demo! I’m enjoying the lack of fotm locks. I do think we need buffs but it’s fun now when I’m top dps. No one complains now and says that I’m playing a meta spec.
Damage profile is not good, class is not fun to play, it's broken since legion and designed by some janitors or interns. You just said in previous videos that warlock has serious problems with mobility. Affliction feels like ass. I've seen a lot of complaints about malefic rapture. It's dumb and clunky. Destro is so good that the only way to deal damage is to spam shadowburn. Warlock doesn't need buffs, it needs REWORK
We are a triple dps spec whose best spec is 6 positions underneath the lowest spec of any of the other triple dps specs. It is outrageous. They say all the time that druid or pally have other roles and so that is why they don't always have a very strong dps spec, but we literally only can dps and we are still massively untuned.
IDK every class looks around the same from those charts. This is maxed out gear with perfect gameplay and they are slivers apart from each other. I play demo with 610 gear and it feels really good. Also a casual so idk, seems small to me.
Thankfully I'm in a chill guild just doing the heroic raid, so my constantly nerfed damage is largely going unnoticed, but god damn...The poor mythic proggers, I feel for you! This feels ugly af 💔
Warlock feels less and less fun, destro is brain dead rof spam and the animation for it looks medicore as well. Soul Harvester is a boring hero talent that ofc has to be the go to, affliction doesn’t even run its ST capstone cause of how ass it is. Demonology is just kinda whatever. We don’t even run the ST based dog in ST. Glad I’m rerolling.
It's actually a big nerf for Queen in Mythic for Destro Locks. If you can't start the fight with Mother of Chaos, you basically won't have AoE for any set of roots, and you'll miss out on big AoE throughout the entire fight unless you hold back or do some weird stuff...
Burning Crusade Affliction Warlock in the corner just loving life for the first time since Ulduar. I missed a couple expansions but truly I love this gameplay right now. I have been in the top 3 of every raid I've been in but they are pugs I guess...Stats don't lie I suppose Kala, so I edited my message. I'd take buffs!
I need people to put their mommy thirst away and stop dooming on Diabolist and try out Hellcaller. Sims are one thing, but in practice, I’m schooling any and all Diabolists as a Hellcaller Destro Lock. I have not been beaten in any encounters by any other Lock spec and I am NOT pink parse’ing.
@spawn9129 reroll melee. You get targeted way less by mechanics too. Ret for burst and good uptime spam. Frost dk is better at ROT than afflock at this point.
This is the first time in my 18 years that every warlock spec is bottom third in everything. I really don't understand what blizzard is doing. Someone needs to be fired.
Yeah I had to quit, prob coming back when we get buffs of something, I'm not mythic raiding and it's impossible to get invited to M+ 10s even if you're topping meters, I'm fully heroic geared and I can't get myth track gear so there's no point in keeping the sub until they literally unlock M+ 10s for warlocks which is crazy but that's where we at now, never had to experience something like this before in my last 5 years playing this game.

playing warlock since vanilla but this addon is heartbreaking honestly. trying m+ gimping at 2,1k rating nobody wants to take me in +7/+8 groups. today i tryed for 6 hours i get 4 runs with 2 untimed because no high rated playersa take me in group. now the reduce aoe for the last playable spec in my opinion. i will first time ever quit WL for a season and do something else its a shame
Compensatory is the correct word. And it's completely ridiculous that they would push this change as if the Rain of Fire issue were even still a thing. They're literally trying to fix something that they've already fixed, it's so monumentally idiotic.
Yesterday i spend over 2 hours trying to get a Weekly 10+ done on my Warlock. 625 Ilvl and 2400 rio score. Sure it's not the best, but perfectly capable of doing +10's. I think i signed up to over 100 keys and did not get invited to any of them. Some of the keys they would rather pick 2 Ret Palas, 2 DK's than getting 1 Warlock. It's literally waste of fucking time, and im done with it. Some of us only have like 2-3 hours to play everyday, but when you have to spend the majority of time sitting in que, waiting to get picked it's not worth it. And no doing your own keys doenst help either because there is no fucking tanks. Blizzard nerfed tanks which means tanks cba to pug, and the ones left is not capable of doing a +10 or they already found established groups to play with. This is BY FAR the worst meta-balance i have ever seen, and i played since 2008. I cba to reroll, so i think im done with the game for now. You need to either be a complete degen with no job, playing 10 hours a day to get anything done in this game if you play as a solo non-meta class.
If I want to pug my own keys (10s) then barrely get reasonable peeps (nearly no one applying has a 10 done yet) since those who do play 10s dont want a warlock. And i am also offering multiple 10s, ~2400 k and 624 ilvl with AOTC so should know what I am doing. Only possbilitly to time my 10s is guild asking those overpowered classes like warry or ret to get things done.

It shouldn't be your responsibility to bring it to their attention. All they have to do is look at logs. It's obvious we are at the low point compared to others. Even more so as a pure damage spec.

Lock gate is OP. There's some skips you can do with it that saves you an invis pot or allows comps without a rogue or priest or dh.

* Your AOE isn't completely shut down by a tank moving five feet (This is mostly a destro complaint due to Cata/RoF)
* 12 second CD interrupt instead of 24/30 is real nice.
* Spiritwalker's Grace and Nature's Swiftness means movement phases almost have zero impact on my damage.
* While I love cheesing mechanics with demonic circle, burning rush just straight up sucks - It requires a macro to cancel properly and I'd rather just have Ghost Wolf. I also have Gust of Wind as a Shaman for immediate movement and can talent ghost wolf to free me from binds. I miss the Night Fae movement ability.
* There's really no way to screw up your rotation the same way Demo can get completely out of alignment because your imps fell off while you had to move right after casting vilefiend but didnt get Tyrant off yet.
* Utility! Having a unique raid/party buff is nice. Earthbind Totem is nice. Poison Cleansing Totem is nice. Thunderstorm is nice. Bloodlust is great. Nicer than "COOKIES PLEASE" when you just put them down one pull ago and pinged them. Sure, gatways have a few good use cases, but the 90 second cooldown on using them a second time hurts any potential they have in m+. Soulstone having a cast time also makes it worse than instant cast brez from other classes. Simple fix (maybe not from coding standpoint) would be make it instant on dead targets, cast time on live targets.
* While Stormkeeper has a cast, Ascendence and Storm Elemental do not, which make your big damage buffs just much more fluid than Demo and its cast time for both Vile Fiend and Tyrant. Not sure why Tyrant isn't instant when Infernal and Darkglare are.

and as a destro you are busy counting nameplate, constantly checking nameplate's health, constantly looking for mayhem proc, deciding when to send chaos bolt and when to send RoF, hoping ruination procs at the right time, holding diabolic ritual before ruination before adds phase, hoping your ruination hits right after the adds spawn because it has a 1 second animation

They dont only needs buffs they also need a completely different design philosphy.
- Passive curse application like rogues
- Raid buff
- a lot more mobility
- Decouple MC and HoT
- Hot uncapped
- Reduce ramps as aff and demo massively
- instant pet summons
- more pet variability
- etc.
It’s tough cause some of those changes make lock too strong in PvP.
But I will say, our class talent tree is absolutely fuckn scuffed.
Some talents are utterly useless and no one ever picks them anymore.
4% leech for 15 seconds after using a health stone? Has anyone ever taken that? It would be worth picking if it was like… 40% maybe. 4%? Utter trash.
And our tree is full of talents like this. Soul conduit as a capstone? 2 points to buff a useless drain life? Shadow fury being a cast, so that by the time it goes off the opportunity is gone? So many talents for warlock are just sooooooo bad, unused, or we are forced to get to just get basic damage talents.
I have a frost dk, and it’s kinda wild the difference between the toolkit in pve.
It has always bugged me that as the MASTER OF DEMONS, Demonology is hardlocked to a single pet that has a worse CD on interrupt than Felhunter (yeah, it can stun, big whoop) but no way to cleanse. There are plenty of fights where having the imp out is great for Destro/Aff. Too much of the spec is built around Felguard for it to change any time outside of a new expansion, though.
I agree with some. I play aff a lot and though I love the idea the class is a bit awkward to play.
Personally I really liked lich king's afflocks the most, even more than Pandaria's. The ramp up was slow but they had a great execute phase, which for a dotting class focused on sustained damage makes sense. They already have great utility in portals and stones, I'd capitalize on that sort of utility rather than raid buffs.
And afflock in M+ needs a big rework. Either fixing Vile Taint so that its cd lines up with agony's duration, not making it an optional talent competing with phantom singularity, or having an aoe spell that doesn't require targeting and isn't a spender (like rain of fire), otherwise there are alot of weird moments when you can't use any aoe spells because both rapture and seed of corruption need shards.
And while we're at it, Rapture just having a cooler animation, since i think it's fine as a spell but just boring to look at.
Haven't played demo and destro in quite some time but I have been noticing not as many warlocks around in raids.
@@Nealm85 Just give us the special ability of all demons without having to have them out. make a nice animation like with diabolist were the demon apears, makes his special ability and disapears again.
We would be usefull in m+ if we havent to curse all mobs separatly, it takes too much time. just give us a ability were HoG or other aoe abilities applies the corrects curse, like the venthyr ability

I'm very concerned about the justification for the change to rain of fire, they made it sound like rain of fire was being abused in single target which obviously is no longer the case since the fix long ago. I would love to hear your opinions on warlock utility and maybe talk to some high end m+ warlocks to get their take on the situation of warlock in the top keys.

@@oblivion9989 I was referring to high end m+ keys where class utility (and aoe stops before they gutted them) are required. I don't mean to come off elitist by any means but you can definetely brute force 12s, especially with current gear and after nerfs to the 12 and above affix.
My complaint, which I might be alone in having, is when you compare warlock to the add control of a dk or poison cleansing, bl, AG, etc. of shaman . Kick cd is another attrocious thing. Even shadowfury is underwhelming after the giant nerf to aoe stops, which arguably was the only thing we offered in that department. Fear is incomparable to hex and polymorph (requiring you to talent to not risk ninjapull). I barely even want to get started on demonology interrupt not being able to group casters. Destruction and demonology both offer incredibly weak dps profiles due to them not having any strong funnel or single target priority (unless you count soulfire comparable to the giants of this profile such as fire, arcane, shadow and even fdk).
Affliction warlock is the one redeeming quality of the class right now in my opinion due to its incredibly rewarding and intuitive ST priority dps profile. However it is incomparable to the other specs mentioned in so many ways.
I understand if you saw this block of text and dont wish to read it. I might be incredibly biased and in the wrong but I don't know, this is my opinion.
@@TheSimonology I agree with everything you say here for sure. Unfortunately a lot of these problems stem way further back than the current season. Over the course of the years with button bloat (especially with DF talent trees) a lot of classes (cough cough mage) got a lot of utility while still being balanced around the same overall dps numbers as everyone else (I.e. warlock)

This is the root cause of why I would love for Kalamazi to get in touch with various warlocks and get their opinions and feedback on how to potentially solve these issues. Not necessarily warlocks alone but m+ focused people. It certainly feels like blizzard has prioritized tuning around the raid a ton more than m+. I think this is also a reason why we so rarely see changes in class utility in contrast to damage output.
Might be anecdotal evidence but it feels like blizzard has caught the eye of Kalamazi's content and indirectly the feedback and suggestions that he has brought up historically. :D
I remember the days of Warlods of Draenor. During that time, Blizz had a vendetta against locks because of Xelnath. They severely nerfed locks every patch. It got to a point where I happy just to not be included in a patch.

I don’t get us warlocks getting nerfs when all 3 specs of lock are the worst specs in the game. And usually a class with 3 dps specs at least have one good spec and lock is literally just nothing but trash atm. More important as a demo main this spec just needs a complete revert back to demo in season 1 or 2 of DF because having no movement in a game that makes you do nothing but always move makes no sense.

Locks are not at the bottom at all, all specs are in the middle of the pack with an average of 1.2M in M+, top being around 1.6M. The best 3 specs have a 1.3-1.5M average and 1.7-1.8M top dmg. It's barely 10% difference.
And yet all we heard in beta was how great lock was going to be. Saw countless videos where lock was on “best classes to main” lists. So from all that to this. Makes no sense.

As a main lock (and ranged dps player) since lich, and a quite high end warlock player specially on M+ (currently over 3k io), i already got a couple other casters (mage sham) geared for reroll for first time ever. Luckily im going away for 2 weeks on vacation, hoping we get a aura buff when I come back.

Warlock feels so good to play now compared to past few expansions so it's sad to see that it is that bad numerically when that is the easiest thing to fix.
Also sad for that aoe destro nerf. Not so much that it nerfs our damage but the fun of the aoe rotation. Whenever a diabolist demon pops up it changes what you do and spices up the rotation a bit which will now happen way less frequently in aoe. Can't help but think that there was a better way to ensure we don't rain of fire on ST (which wasn't even happening right now anyway).
Playstyle change is majorly needed for both, mainly Aff and Destro. The ramp up time for Aff is horendous in keys and even worse if your VT doesnt come off cd for packs. Having to manualy cast agony and then Seed whilst other classes are already full pump is a ball buster. Save us Lord Kala

Since we were utility bots in Mythic raids i rerolled to frost dk and made nothing wrong now since buff, had more dps on 610ilvl than my warlock with 625 smth wrong in this game
Same with Unholy. I started gearing up my UH DK and at iLVL 603 I was out DPSing my Demo Lock at 615. Single target by a bit, but AOE by a mile!
no one asks to have 3 spec dps S+++ tier god like extreme, but the current state is very poor... 11.0.5 is humiliating, where they managed to change only the soul rot icon when for several years it has been asking for at least one glyph to have the old shadowbolt (present in the current game and used by some mobs in hellfire citadel). The class not only has rather obvious tuning problems, but above all it has archaic gameplay that they never want to try to improve. Indeed, when it seems that something is going in the right direction (Demonology in DF) they destroy everything to make everything slower and more immobile. Now I play the warlock only because it's my first and practically only PC since 2004 out of nostalgia, like when you're grown up and disappointed and go back to a nice place in your childhood 😢
Demo in DF got worse with every Patch. Even the talent rework left demo in worse state than SL S3. I think you mean SL. The only good gameplay improvements in DF was s3 tier bonus (we got a similar but slighty worse version now) and imp gang boss in aoe (completely neutered/removed to be boring %dmg increase)

Class balance responsible developers are proving that they are incompetent over and over again. They buff already S tier specs while nerfing classes that are already struggling. Then after Wowhead post they suddenly nerf FDK and arcane mage. Its like showing they have no clue what they are doing.
I always thought that Blizzards tools to measure class DPS were superior to the community tools, but I don't think that is the case anymore.

Almost no point playing the class at this point. No matter what you do you are not rewarded with dps output and other classes have outrageous group and cc utility whilst proving massive dps with little to no ramp.
I can't think of a logical reason as of why they needed to nerf warlock, dps was mediocre at best, and classes that actually needed nerfs are getting buffs. Maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture here, but it seems like the balance team fcked up, again. I really hope we get some buffs on the future

Honestly happier than I've been the last few expansions - the class is fun to play, which is more than I can say was the state when it was PI or bust demonology etc and all of the specs seem viable and have some build variance with talent trees that aren't just % damage increases that should be basic tuning like they were at the end of DF.
The lack of basic number dial tuning is surprising though for a pure dps class and I'm astounded at how much they're just leaving Hellcaller to rot despite feeling the need to fiddle with Diabolist talents to fix problems that they had already fixed months prior.
Yeah, wither is just awful and it was the spec I was excited to play with expansion.
I'm enjoying it too. I don't remember the last expansion where I could basically freely swap between specs in nearly all situations. Just need that knob to go up
Switched back to my Marksman Hunter at level 71 and what a difference in DPS although low I'm burning through mobs at that level I could not on my Destruction Warlock.
I hate that we're being numerically dumped on since the gameplay loop for all 3 specs is actually pretty good in my opinion, much better than Shadowlands and DF. But I feel we're gonna enter into an extremely long period of warlock's DPS numbers being subpar...which get people depressed, call for changes...and they'll use that as a signal to overhaul the specs again for more raw damage output, but strip out a bunch of the currently fun stuff like Shadowburns, lots of demons, etc.
Also, I don't really understand how they view balancing anymore at all. WarcraftLogs gives a pretty clear statistical breakdown of how many percent any given spec is ahead in various types of content. You can't perfectly balance with aura buffs, I get that...but they keep trying these hotfix types patches on Fire Mage or Fury Warrior, etc. where it fixes one side of their broken nature...but does nothing in other types of content. I feel like they need to sit down and do the math, use aura buffs/nerfs to reign everything into a comfortable 3%-/+ range, and only then start looking at specific abilities...the baseline balance is just rotten right now (and honestly has been since Shadowlands dropped).
Arcane mage getting buffed, were getting nerfed. its a f***** crime. its not that hard. just give us a 5%-10% aura buff and go onwards to 11.07/11.1 looking more into the class. Its a joke.
They said in a blue post they're planning on tuning for some classes on the maintenance on 30th. Let's cross fingers toes and other stuff for Warlocks to make that list..!! 🤘🏻😎
Was actually shocked when I saw the patch notes, some classes that are doing really well getting a fucking novel worth of changes and buffs and then I scroll to lock and its a few destro things and soul rot icon change. Insane to look at the DPS rankings and not give locks as a whole a buff while buffing already strong specs.
They still force us to choose ROF buff or Cata... which is the one thing we have repeatedly asked to change in the tree. Just have ROF or cata apply the 3% buff without needing the talent. Cataclysm needs a shorter CD or we need a proc to renew the CD and make it instant cast.
CDF should be castable while moving
Our AOE in general is only decent in higher keys where we can cast multiple ROF. They need to buff the incinerate cleaving damage. Also, havoc is ok for cleave but an alternate talent would be nice that splashes havoc damage to multiple enemies similar to how chaos bolt used to do lackluster aoe damage. A small chance to proc a 5 second havoc that only lasts for a cast or two, or not at all if we have to move. They should make the application a debuff like ret pally judgment.
In general, the class design just feels horrible right now. Playing mage there is a really nice fluidity to their aoe rotations and they have things like glacial spike, flamestrike, and ice lance that do enormous cleave without needing setup. Just like DKs needing D and D to cleave, this design is just outdated. There is so much potential in our tree to be up there with other classes in aoe but the talents are severely undertuned. Some might disagree but I enjoyed the rift build last expansion and would love to see them 1. tune it properly and 2. produce on demand aoe damage that isn't just another ROF.
I don't usually whine and try to adjust to whatever, but nerfing our aoe to make chaos bolt more favorable for ST and giving us nothing in return is just carelessness. I'm not sure what the devs are doing. They seemed like they were really listening for awhile then completely went the opposite direction we told them to.
A new icon....What a slap in the face
The 11.0.5 changes are major class changes they had to cut from beta to ship the expansion, it looks like almost no tuning action has been taken on them. 4 of the top 5 specs in boss damage on warcraft logs were buffed while 3 of bottom 10 specs were nerfed. There will have to be some drastic hotfix aura tuning coming for a lot more than just warlock because the changes being implemented today are going to take a season with okay but not great balance and make the best specs better and the worst specs worse. Coupled with all the negativity around the feel of M+ due to overtuning of dungeons and nerfed gear progression, its a recipe for a very very bad play experience.
Blizzard has fully taken on ending fun. Warlock is a full dps class. We are doing less damage than hybrid classes. I can't play affliction. I need audio queues to know when something is available to cast. I don't have any idea how to get an audio queue for when a dot is in the pandemic state. I just play demonology currently. I was really bad at destruction in shadowlands. I don't know what to do but to be good at mechanics and being mediocre at damage.

Damage profile is not good, class is not fun to play, it's broken since legion and designed by some janitors or interns. You just said in previous videos that warlock has serious problems with mobility. Affliction feels like ass. I've seen a lot of complaints about malefic rapture. It's dumb and clunky. Destro is so good that the only way to deal damage is to spam shadowburn.

We are a triple dps spec whose best spec is 6 positions underneath the lowest spec of any of the other triple dps specs. It is outrageous. They say all the time that druid or pally have other roles and so that is why they don't always have a very strong dps spec, but we literally only can dps and we are still massively untuned.
I hope buffs come, I'm an average lock with no stable M+ team or guild and finding these atm is hard

IDK every class looks around the same from those charts. This is maxed out gear with perfect gameplay and they are slivers apart from each other. I play demo with 610 gear and it feels really good. Also a casual so idk, seems small to me.
Thankfully I'm in a chill guild just doing the heroic raid, so my constantly nerfed damage is largely going unnoticed, but god damn...The poor mythic proggers, I feel for you! This feels ugly af 💔

Warlock feels less and less fun, destro is brain dead rof spam and the animation for it looks medicore as well. Soul Harvester is a boring hero talent that ofc has to be the go to, affliction doesn’t even run its ST capstone cause of how ass it is. Demonology is just kinda whatever. We don’t even run the ST based dog in ST. Glad I’m rerolling.
It's actually a big nerf for Queen in Mythic for Destro Locks. If you can't start the fight with Mother of Chaos, you basically won't have AoE for any set of roots, and you'll miss out on big AoE throughout the entire fight unless you hold back or do some weird stuff...
Burning Crusade Affliction Warlock in the corner just loving life for the first time since Ulduar. I missed a couple expansions but truly I love this gameplay right now. I have been in the top 3 of every raid I've been in but they are pugs I guess...Stats don't lie I suppose Kala, so I edited my message. I'd take buffs!
I need people to put their mommy thirst away and stop dooming on Diabolist and try out Hellcaller. Sims are one thing, but in practice, I’m schooling any and all Diabolists as a Hellcaller Destro Lock. I have not been beaten in any encounters by any other Lock spec and I am NOT pink parse’ing.
Rerolled and never looked back. I do so much more with less buttons and gear.

@spawn9129 reroll melee. You get targeted way less by mechanics too. Ret for burst and good uptime spam. Frost dk is better at ROT than afflock at this point.

This is the first time in my 18 years that every warlock spec is bottom third in everything. I really don't understand what blizzard is doing. Someone needs to be fired.
Yeah I had to quit, prob coming back when we get buffs of something, I'm not mythic raiding and it's impossible to get invited to M+ 10s even if you're topping meters, I'm fully heroic geared and I can't get myth track gear so there's no point in keeping the sub until they literally unlock M+ 10s for warlocks which is crazy but that's where we at now, never had to experience something like this before in my last 5 years playing this game.

playing warlock since vanilla but this addon is heartbreaking honestly. trying m+ gimping at 2,1k rating nobody wants to take me in +7/+8 groups. today i tryed for 6 hours i get 4 runs with 2 untimed because no high rated playersa take me in group. now the reduce aoe for the last playable spec in my opinion. i will first time ever quit WL for a season and do something else its a shame

Yesterday i spend over 2 hours trying to get a Weekly 10+ done on my Warlock. 625 Ilvl and 2400 rio score. Sure it's not the best, but perfectly capable of doing +10's. I think i signed up to over 100 keys and did not get invited to any of them. Some of the keys they would rather pick 2 Ret Palas, 2 DK's than getting 1 Warlock. It's literally waste of fucking time, and im done with it. Some of us only have like 2-3 hours to play everyday, but when you have to spend the majority of time sitting in que, waiting to get picked it's not worth it.
And no doing your own keys doenst help either because there is no fucking tanks. Blizzard nerfed tanks which means tanks cba to pug, and the ones left is not capable of doing a +10 or they already found established groups to play with. This is BY FAR the worst meta-balance i have ever seen, and i played since 2008. I cba to reroll, so i think im done with the game for now. You need to either be a complete degen with no job, playing 10 hours a day to get anything done in this game if you play as a solo non-meta class.
If I want to pug my own keys (10s) then barrely get reasonable peeps (nearly no one applying has a 10 done yet) since those who do play 10s dont want a warlock. And i am also offering multiple 10s, ~2400 k and 624 ilvl with AOTC so should know what I am doing. Only possbilitly to time my 10s is guild asking those overpowered classes like warry or ret to get things done.

Really love playing Warlock, but had to quit sadly, i can only get into Raids or M+ if i host. I have 620ivl..

Bro they already nerfed us into the ground after saying they were buffing us... after week 5 numbers demon was middle of the pack dps numbers and the rest were at the bottom near augmentation evokers like wtf is wrong with the devs? Warlock is a pure dps class and we can't even perform right now... demon is our highest dps and it is also the least mobile spec to choose from. They are crazy

@@12BeastnDestro is plenty of fun in raid, it just needs better numbers. Destro's aoe has felt terrible since forever imo, even when it's good its very boring.

well now we can do the "boost" thingy and die after pull, after putting up healthstones and gates... fking sucks to play WLthis time.
It shouldn't be your responsibility to bring it to their attention. All they have to do is look at logs. It's obvious we are at the low point compared to others. Even more so as a pure damage spec.
