  • ESL crew members Ales, Kokes, Morale, Crim, at the abandoned grain silos off Third St., SF - 1990's.
The Silos were an amazingly un-crushed piecing spot, only those in the know, knew. Take a look around and see classic pieces by Twist, Maseo, Aqua, Josh, Red, Chase, MSA, Ocho, Heart 101 and more!
Footage by Chris Burns, archived by DTREE

i've seen that twist so many times in photos. crazy to see which silo it was exactly on. there's still an ORFN 99 tag running very close to the twist silo. I think I remember seeing that elephant too.
That Chase piece is so fresh. Surprised I've never seen a photo of it in my 90s sf graff flic research.
and round of applause of Jenkins ESL for holding it down after all these years. Long Live Jenks!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for having the intuition to film all this stuff. Seems like you were the only one.

Love when people remember the place and the time... it was a golden era! The elephant piece is by Aqua (Koke/Jenks older brother!).
Props goes to Chris Burns for always having a camera with him. In the 1990s they weren't so common, and people didn't actually want to be filmed (different from today).
Chris held on to his tapes and eventually sent them to me so I could start preserving this important history.

@@sSanFranciscoGraffitiandHip-ho well god bless Chris Burns and yourself for your collective efforts to get this footage out. That makes 2 Aqua runners then, cause I found a Aqua 98 hollow just last year near downtown between some businesses and the freeway.

All that history was pretty much un-touched up until 2013-2014 when social media caused a huge surge in traffic at this spot and slowly but surely, all the stuff from the 90's started getting gone over. There's probably 20% of the old school pieces still left in there.. damn shame.

Same situation in New York… We have a lot of spots that were so great to visit filled with history up until social media rolled out the red carpet and all the spots got flooded and gone over. It’s almost depressing sometimes
