I think a cool, unique family costume idea for you guys would be a Victorian ghost family. Might be tricky and involve some DIY-ing if you can't find costumes for everyone, but that could be fun.

You could all dress up as characters from toy story as your family dress up- buzz, woody, Bo peep, barbie, mr or mrs potatoe head, & 3 aliens? You can get all these costumes online.

There is the option of being the classic Halloween monsters. Mom and Dad, Frankenstein’s monster, and Bride of Frankenstein. Then there is a werewolf, vampire, mummy, a witch, a zombie and a bat or spider.

Hey Weisses, Party City usually sell the Halloween costumes from August to the end of October. I love the classic silly costumes of the round "mustard & ketchup" squeeze bottles and hotdogs. They're from as early as the late 2000's.
