Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include the Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer, which uses turrets and other devices.These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills.
Players can use different weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles to defeat enemies, and firearms can be customized with weapon mods. Players can hide behind cover to shield themselves from enemy attacks, though health will only regenerate if the player manages to hurt or kill enemies.Players combat both monsters and human enemies. As the player progresses, the world level (the game's equivalent to gameplay difficulty) will increase. If the world level is high, it is more likely for the player to get high-end loot from defeated enemies.
The game incorporates various role-playing elements. As the players explore, they can explore different hub areas, talk to non-playable characters and complete side missions. In cutscenes a dialogue tree allows to decide the outcome of some conversations, though it does not affect the story's progression. The game can be played solo, but players can also complete the game together with two other players.

This game has such a special place in my heart. Not as much single player story but the co-op was just amazing. My Trigger Twitch Devastator lives on!
I really like the shooting combined with characters abilities. Their abilities made it unique and cool to me..
Yeah this game is badass! You said it the gunplay combined with the abilities plus the awesome weapons and loot that all works together! It’s soooo good!!!
Still love it since I got it two years ago! The abilities in combination with the mods is insane. There’s one that uses a swarm of locusts to attack your enemies. That’s HILARIOUS! The effects are decent too, and so graphic!
I totally agree, yes if you just think about it as a 3rd person shooter yes, it’s similar to many other games, but when you look at the abilities cool down which allow you to quickly cycle through all your abilities, the builds and the more aggressive style of gunplay where sticking to cover isn’t the more effective way to play and your encouraged to be out in the thick of things, I think it does offer something different while being a bit familiar.
Just to let you know you can sell all items at once... when at a vendor, go bottom right and select the class of items by colour to mark all.
i.e. white (very common), green (common), blue (rare) etc.
Also, this game is about attacking perks and abilities to do insane things. It's pretty great once you unlock the ability to customise and you can reset and switch up style anytime or for specific encounters.
If you want to co-op with another Scot, I'm all for it.

Love the guns in this game. They are totally fun to shoot. Especially with the new gear with the 3 mod slots. Made some awesome builds.
Only problem is that there is absolutely no content. You just run one map over and over again. Wtf were they thinking? This game has all the makings of a great looter shooter but the devs abandoned it. So disappointing. 😞
because that was the point. it wasn't supposed to be a live service game that'll be continuously updated for years, it's a looter shooter where you can actually reach the finish line and it's similar to borderlands in that regard, which i really like. personally i'm not a fan of live service games that string you along with an update every few months.
I payed $11.00 at Walmart and definitely a good investment ...I enjoyed the story shooting system is slightly different not terrible but who doesn't like a shooter RPG with mutations for power but boss fights are fun

I was square enix never gave up on this game it was a fun game and they couldve done so much with it and $30 fr complete edition is well worth it if you havent played it yet
My friend and I loved Outriders. The end game grind did us in. Remnant 2 has been our most recent game and it's endgame is far superior and has great replay-ability.
Like I say in the video I don’t consider this a bad game, however in my opinion I have played other games that offer me more. At the end of the day we all want different things from our games, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
If you have not yet, I highly recommend Remnant 2. It is shockingly under-rated. The build-craft is amazing. The game comes with 4 classes but there are another 8 you can unlock and it's an incredibly satisfying gaming journey. @@Gaming4XP
We loved this one! Very interesting world environment and pretty cool, although not so original story line. Once through the story campaign the gauntlet got redundant. You level up, enemy strength scales 1:1 and after you saw all the locations it became Ground Hog Day. So sad no more DLCs coming for it.

It's very much an arpg. So it's a given you'd be seeing the same location
Just got into this game over the weekend and really enjoying the story. Played the demo back in the day but never committed to it and wish I had. Nice to see a more recent review 😊
The storyline in this one really sucks you in quickly and before you know it you’re 20 to 30 hours deep….enjoy

Thanks for the review. Though I totally disagree with your take, I appreciate you giving the game a try. For me, it was very different in that the skills and and mods you can do on the weapons really are unique and not like other games I've seen. Some of the things you noted as you not liking I think are tossed up to you not being familiar with the game....mass selling items is an example. Additionally the skill points are fairly straight forward as well, so I'm wondering if you had the world tiers to level up automatically or not....which would affect the experience you obtained.
Overall I think the game is a very solid and different experience. If anything I think Outriders could've done a better job with some of the layout of how to do things, but I think most games have that issue nowadays. My biggest pushback to your review was that you said it wasn't really anything new, but you didn't give anything to compare with. Then later on you say, well actually the skills / leveling is unique.
Just my opinion again listening to you and having played the game quite a bit.
I am always open to a difference of opinion so thanks for sharing yours. Personally I don’t dislike this game and played many many hours after the review.
Every gamer has different expectations about a game and for me playing so many shooters this is solid but not a stand out.
@@Gaming4XP Maybe these is some hidden depth in the game but I never found it. Then again, I just play for fun. I don't try to make any special builds, I allocate points by intuition and just play. Some people really like Starfield too and for the life of me I can't understand why. If you're going to build systems into the game but I have to browse the web to figure out what you're trying to do, it's a failure in game design. Starfield has the same issue. Stuff was left as an exercise for the student...
As you say everyone has different tastes.
Destiny 2 still up man but you right,it should be optional to play offline
I really like this game. It makes me sad to know once they take the servers down, the game will be gone forever.
This is one thing that I really dislike about the way games are built now. If you pay for a game you should be able to play for as long as you want and rely on servers.
That’s not gonna happen as long as they keep selling it
I recently started playing this game and it is great! Its a very enjoyable game and it is sad that there is no new updates or dlc's coming for it. Need to find more like this, I've heard Destiny 2 and Remant 2 are also good.
I agree this game is certainly worth playing and has a lot of hours to invest for the main campaign. Recently I went back and played Destiny 2 which was worth doing and this has a few expansions to work through.
Keep watching as I will be reviewing Remanat 2 shortly, if you need to gauge how it plays

You can't play, you get kicked out of the games, the servers are very bad, there is a connection error.

This game seems to have a healthy community attached to it so hopefully it’s around for a while. I fired it up a couple of days ago and it seems to be working ok

Just bc they don’t “offer anything new” to the tps genre so what?? Nobody has in the last few years just like fps in cod , relatable to literally any of fps game bc the mechanics work and should stick, it comes down to way more than that to me
Thanks for your comments and it’s not that I didn’t enjoy the 30+ hours I played of this game. I have just seen other fps shooters do it better. Secondly there seems to be a trend of copy pasting the same things from game to game and taking our money instead of innovating.
At the end of the day if you enjoy this game thats great, I am always happy to hear different points of view.
@@Gaming4XP no I’m not gonna say you’re wrong at all, I enjoyed it a lot but I don’t think it had anything to do w the movement and shooting feeling exactly like division or world war z , sure they couldve ramped it up a bit but it’s still better than a lot of others in this genre , a lot of others have done it better but some weren’t even available around this time I like their fancy twist on the tps genre but you are 100% correct in that wow what a game this could’ve been

It's a mid game. I had fun with it, finished the story then uninstalled and never looked back. The story and shooting was decent. It simply never raised above "Pretty good". There are plenty of worse games out there, particularly in the past couple years. It's more fun than "StarField".
I resented the fact the character models were pretty ugly, I'd say made intentionally ugly.
I knew my mate was getting a ps5 for chrimbo so got him and my self remant 2 for co op lootem shooter but it was very boring so we got this on ps plus and been playing it all crimbo week

I have played many many shooters over the last few years so I have a certain preference what I like and don’t like. This game is solid and enjoyable to play, in fact I have many hours of play time.
It just doesn’t show me much that I haven’t seen in other games. I am glad you enjoy it so much….always great to find a game you love playing.
It's a very mid game. Better than many games out there but, it never really became super fun. Not for me anyway. It's worth playing for sure. I'm sure the lack of updates is because more people feel like I do than feel like you do.

I disgree with your review of the game. This game was announced as a full package and NOT a live service.
This company made GoW Judgment which imo is an underrated game in comparison to the rest of the series.
You made comparison to other game but failed to mention what other systems it was similar too.
I loved the healing system in the game, killing heals you so it makes you focus the loot and build.
This game has an anthem emblem piercing. Showing that this is a spiritual successor. This is basically Gears Looter. Not many or not are like this.

lol HD2 is one of the blandest games out there. It's fun for a few hours but that's about it. It lacks so much content and contains a lot of grind, just to unlock the very little content it has. If that game had a loot system or something with more variety to the weapons, armour, etc, it would be far more enjoyable but it doesn't. I played it with some work mates, until I got up to about 26.. I only played if they asked, I wouldn't ever want to play it otherwise, just far better games out there.
