We went on a search for signs of life at a secret set of trails and it wasn't looking good at first but to our surprise the jumps were taped up and looked legit enough to ride! Matty Cranmer fixed them up a little and he managed to make it through first try and he also did a tail whip over the last jump!
As a trail builder myself, Thank you for promoting proper trail etiquette.
As a trails dude thank you on behalf of the trails community for showing some trails etiquette if only more people did this the trails scene would be a lot better off and welcoming to other people ...... But most are dry khants
@jack busto depends on how u wonder in to the set of trails tbh if i wonder in with ur buddies and ur bikes and expect to ride em then probably but if u wonder in with a few beers and a shovel in ur hand ur more than likely gunna be welcomed
most if not all of these trails are built by tresspassing/vandalizing/littering punks with shovels... i say get off your dam high horse lol... the real problem is when one of these assholes gets hurt and their mom (karen) sues the real owner of the property or the town if its public...

You obviously have a crush on Mattie, you're obviously not straight, but I'll tell you what that's the cool thing about bmx is the diversity, all different kinds of people ride BMX, definitely my favorite sport and it could be for anyone, and yes Mattie is a good Rider! but he's not with the top guys yet

I've always loved Scotty's dirt footage, but there's been so little of it over all the years. This was a really welcomed video. Great way to kick off the weekend.
So good to see everything from run up all the way to the last. So often when people film trails we only see the trick jump

Ahhh one of my local spots. A bunch of years ago they were dormant and grown over for like 4-5 years and I'm the one who uncovered them and re-dug them out back then ... They've been ridden and used and worked on since! BRAVO on the trail etiquette
Ah man I miss being a teenager with my buddies back in the woods at the trails we built. Had it bowled out between the jumps it was just such a smooth flow to it.
That's a lot of work and dirt somebody loved those jumps

Ive been stacking and packing for over 25 years now..im 38 now its really great to show the true way of that trail life..NO DIG NO RIDE..Scott said it all..taking tarps off right and putting them back great edit fellas..Matty you have been on a mission recently..see u guys a the shop soon..🤘🤙🤘..
Those trails look pretty smooth quick and super fun..its just like our secrect trails in NJ too..crap trail to the trails never know there even out there..smart.

Hey Scott, its beau baker. I rode here about a year ago with Brady when people still worked on it. People probably still do but I'm not 100% sure. They are super fun little jumps and I'm stoked to see you came back to an OG spot.
As someone who used to build secret bmx jump tracks, I appreciate the way you guys handled this venture, sick clips! Personally I loved the way you clipped the run together, from a photography perspective I really liked that! :)

@@DansGamingVan facts but I’ve always wondered why he hadn’t tried taking dirt jumping more serious, he literally built his skill off of jumping dirt jump styled box jumps at the incline club. His style is tailored for this

So cool. I remember growing up hearing rumors of a big halfpipe in the woods. One day went looking and sure enough like a 12ft patched together halfpipe in the woods off the bike path.

Scotty i’d love to see you use your connections and have some bmx legends ride and talk on the channel. Such as Young, Aitken, Fuzzy, Ruben, Van, levan etc.

@@zombeesama1169 firstly scotty doesn’t have a podcast! And secondly, it would be cool to see them ride with the guys. Im sure there is a huge percentage of subscribers who have no idea who these legends are or most of the mid school legends are.
This would be amazing. I’ve been looking up so many of the riders I looked up to ‘back in the day’ and it’s crazy the direction some of their lives have taken. I mean, Jay Miron is an amazing carpenter now and Sandy Carson is a really well-respected photographer. At the same time there’s a lot of sadness, with riders we’ve lost, and I was just looking up Simon Tabron the other day to see how he’s recovering, as I rode and talked to him a few times when I lived in Bristol in the U.K. A lot of kids have no idea what it was like to ride in the mid-school and I feel like it would blow their minds to see footage of those people riding, and to hear them talk about what it was like to ride a bike in that time. I’m having to isolate with Covid right now, and I’m thinking it would be the perfect day to break out my Road Fools blu-ray set and re-live some amazing times...

Mid school was such a huge building block for today’s bmx and a lot of riders probably don’t know much about it.
I used to love going to the backyard jams in the mid 2000s.
There is so much to talk about and so many riders.

Nice! I was exploring an old trail last week. It was super over grown for the most part but still there enough for a nice walk down memory lane.
Its a mix of people back there and you know all of them.
Your worth watching because you are Good as people and as athletes.

This reminds me of the dirt jumps i grew up riding in Bay City Mi. A little patch of trees off the rail trail ( cement bike/walking trail that circles around the city) that had a hidden secret jump set up.
Dude keep them hidden…just say a set in my local town
Damn Scotty lookin fit, backpacking trips in the woods and everything, hell yeah.
This was my childhood. I was fortunate enough to have 3 different sets of trails within a few miles of my house. A small set for younger kids with a lot of tabletops, down the road a medium set with some long and low doubles and the main trails had about a dozen different lines of huge trick jumps. Between about 8 yrs old to 18 I would spend all day during the summer riding and building. We would rode so much that we started just bringing a tent and camping at the trails so we could wake up and do it again the next day. I started to get really good and put all my money into my bike (DK Six Pack with about $800 in aftermarket parts) and a few days after getting my Sun Rims, the final upgrade, I let a friend ride it to his house right around the corner to get some water while we were building and it got stolen. It was soul crushing. I never got back into riding after that but this brings back a lot of memories.

So happy this channel is still going strong and always coming up with new and interesting content. Just wanted to take a moment and point that out and thank you for your hard work keeping the consistent content coming through all of your struggles over the years. I've watched every single video on this channel and don't regret it. Easily one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. 2 mil is coming up, maybe Matty can think of some fun challenge to aim for. Unless you've got a backflip hiding in your back pocket. :)

Man this reminds me of when I was a kid... learning to ride a bike. There was this old abandoned granite manufacturing area that had been lost to the times but it was secluded and easy to teach a kid to ride a bike in the old lots, there was a trail setup with probably 2-3 decent jumps but I was always to scared to do anything there. Me and my friends would watch the older kids through from the woods doing the jumps... now that whole area has been cleaned up and is a grocery store and university apartments sadly
Reminds me of how they developed what was once the dirt bike pit into a fucking Walmart and bank in my town. I left for four years, came back and there it was. Makes me sad to see stuff get converted into concrete and parking spaces
you never burst into summonses joy you try to offer a addition to the fun then it usually works itself out
I live in Washington State and my son and I found a set of primo dirt ramps and wood catwalks. Those guys are working hard on those trails.

@@kamrandean3123 this was years ago so not sure if it is still there. It was on the west side of that somewhat secret detention center west of the trail. We would enter through a hole in the fence off of 200th st. The whole in the fenc was on the top of the west hill on 200th. 200th is the same st that the trailhead is. The trailhead is at the bottom of a big dip. The hole in the wire fence was at the top of the hill just west of the trailhead on 200th. If it's still there. If you find them show respect. The guys who made them had to be pros. The jumps were quality. 👍

Ha, yes these have been worked on, much love given. The path to the line is crazy overgrown like the rest of the "area". Appreciate the Respect of not sharing the location. I once posted it on my Strava and realized very quickly to stfu. Btw there's a close parking lot to get into the spot fairly easy.

Matty was killing those jumps for real he looked really proper on the tricks he did. Also I think it'd be really cool if you guys made a can't slow down polo. Just something like solid black with a little logo on it. Keep pushing Scott you're doing great man.
Mattie is a good rider but he's not quite one the top riders yet, obviously you have a crush on Mattie, apparently you aren't straight, but I'll tell you what that is the cool thing about BMX is that the diversity, so many different kinds of people ride BMX, such an awesome sport!
