      That i probably TRUE except in this case. YOU DON"T PASS ON THE OUTSIDE(right) OF SOMEONE ON THE INTERSTATE OR FREEWAY! @@amar6128 So he was speeding up to pass someone illegally on the right to avoid an accident? Ill not deny there might be an ethical vs legal dilemma here.
      The fact is he didn't need to scare his passengers and by watching this video I don't think he didn't give a damn about them. He was more worried about his ego then taping his brake pedal and changing to left lane to pass the guy who was slowing down and getting over to let him around. People who speed try to hide in the slower lanes and get upset when people get over for them. I see this all the time.
      This was not rush hour traffic, this was one guy being an asshole.

The rating system is UNFAIR to their drivers and they can deactivate you at will without any warning or even a chance to hear your side of the story. The way Uber treats its drivers is a complete turn off. Unfortunately, passengers don’t care that this is someone’s livelihood and this man has mouths to feed and bills to pay. It isn’t just a side gig for some people. Wish people would think about that before maliciously making false accusations.

      @Ms_Tania 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @drright10 Ya!, I watched it afterwards.
      So,let's put all the verbal stuff aside,do you not think that the other car cut him off? When driving fast on a highway,it's not always obvious how fast a car behind or beside you is going. So it's not obvious how fast they can catch up to you. The other car is at fault for trying to change lanes while this guy is so close to him. There didn't seem to be much traffic so he (other guy) could have speed up or allowed his car to fall behind,to make a safe lane change.
      I'm curious to know why you think he's an ''idiot driver' as if he's at fault?

    • @Ms_Tania
      @Ms_Tania 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @drright10 First of all...thank you for taking the time to clearly explain your point of view. I appreciate that.
      I completely understand your point and have to agree with you (your explanation helped me see it in a different way) when you said... ''at the 15 sec mark the other driver turned on his turn signal, at that point the uber was still 30 or more feet back. (rewatch the video) the uber driver had PLENTY of time to either change lanes himself or slow down and back off.''.........He did 'honk' when the other started changing lanes...but in my experience on a hwy,it's hard to hear a car horn especially over ppl talking,if the radios on etc... Thanks again. :)

    Wow, no offense but people need to go back to traffic school.
    1) the car on the left is driving slow in the passing lane. Illegal in most states but rarely enforced.
    2) they switched lanes without checking mirros, or checked and assumed someone with right of way would make room. They needed to speed up, slow down or simply wait.
    3) when you let people road bully, or blindly act, they never learn.
    4) the OTHER car is being impatient, reckless. He is just not allowing them to get away with it.
    The kind patient thing to do is let it slide, brake, and move on. However, not necessarily the right thing.

I was in a area that I wasn’t familiar with and made a wrong turn. Uber’s policy of investigating is to deactivate you for 24 hours. • @HaggisOfDeath

      It makes sense why they deactivate you for the investigation. As annoying and abusable as that is, imagine the alternative. Imagine that Uber received a report of a driver driving under the influence, or hell it could be worse; imagine the driver is accused of being a sexual predator or something. Now, Uber are made aware of this, but rather than doing anything; they wait until they can do an investigation, and allow the driver to continue working with their seal of approval. During that time there is a car-crash and people die, or the driver goes on to sexually molest someone else, or multiple people. Uber are going to get DESTROYED in the eye of the public for not stopping that driver as soon as they were made aware of what was happening.
      Now agreed, in Jason's situation it was just some horrible, spiteful person trying to punish him, and that is horrible. The system can be abused by butt-holes. But the system is a good idea, because the alternative could be SO MUCH WORSE.

      We are sorry to hear about your recent experience with a rider. We can assure you that uber is committing to provide both riders a drivers a safe a respectful environment during the ride. However, all the responsibilities are on drivers and if the riders complaine, we will deactivate you. If you complain, we will copy and paste this message again under a new representative name. Further more, we want to let you know that drivers like you are expendable to uber. If you quit, we will have another slave just like you tomorrow to pick up the passenger you just conplained about. We are most appreciative to drivers like you who are such losers to not knowing that we are taking advantage of them. In addition, we also like to let you know that we have been training riders to treat you like shit as well so you will have no more self esteems to find another job. Basically, uber is your lord, god, and savior. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We still don’t care anyway.

      You seem to miss the point. If the video was merely about that traffic manoeuvre, we'd agree. The other car failed to give way; that was illegal. Yeah, maybe the Uber driver should have slowed down, too. But whatever.
      The video however is about the passenger acting rude and allegedly making a vexatious complaint. So why don't we see more footage than the 18 seconds she was talking? Why not see the footage of her getting out of the car, leaving the door open, friend slamming the door and all the rubbish she allegedly said?
      If it would all support the story and show her in the wrong, it's *weird* that the editing is so selective.

      lizet me the video does not show them being rude. It shows a women react to what she must have felt was a scary situation in her mind. She excitedly says "Jesus Christ" then calmly says if you could slow down that would be amazing. She also said that she appreciates him getting them home quickly, but she would prefer to arrive in one piece, so that was two references to his speed. Now if you watch the video again you will see that he passed the vehicle that changed lanes in front of him, then he passed a second vehicle on his right and was about to pass a 3rd vehicle that was clearly way ahead of him at the beginning of the video right before the camera view changes. This suggests his speed was clearly higher then the other travelers on the road and supports the women's opinion that he was traveling fast. The driver claims that they had bad attitudes, were disrespectful and threatening from the beginning of the ride. He also claimed that one passenger left the door open and the other slammed the door. None of his claims are supported in this video hence why i said he might of gained more support if he had shown it.

      Absolutely; bottom line is even though the other driver was not paying attention and failed to yield to the Uber car, I think Zaxer should have either taken his foot off the gas pedal and slowed down, or he could have simply changed lanes to the left since that lane was now free and open to pass the stupid car... He waited too long to make a decision and decided to honk at the guy instead and then change lanes, which made the whole situation more dramatic than it should have been...

    • @jakejakec5977

      @@philipthomas6808 You obviously don't drive too much. If he would of tried to move into the left lane, he would of crashed into the car. Watch the video again. If he really was playing things by the book he would of just let the car crash into him and it wouldn't be his fault. Or he could of slammed on his brakes, like you suggested, which would of made for an even more turbulent ride.

    • @sarah-janemelnychuk541
      @sarah-janemelnychuk541 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, slowing down too much can be a hazard but one thing certain, slowing down would have been the better decision. Plus,we really can't be sure of how fast the Uber Driver was going. All we know is that the Uber Driver was going faster then the car beside him. For all we know that car was going the proper speed and the Uber driver was the one speeding exessively making for an unpredictable ride where the passenger felt unsafe. The video doesn't prove anything except the fact that the Uber Driver was obviously NOT under the influence. And he should have informed Uber that he had to swerve to the right to avoid a collission because of the driving behaviour of the driver in that other car and also inform them that he has dash cam recording. Regarding speed of course, always use a dash cam that records the speed of your car because things don't always appear as they are on video. You ever hearthe term "train your witness" you can influence how people see your actions by making simple suggestive comments. For example to say you are going the speed limit when you're passing the car, perhaps this is true but we don't know, we just have one persons word but no proof of speed. And yet, possibly, some people just take his word. I say the only thing you can be sure of, if a customer complains you're going too fast, slow down, if you come across an unpredictable driver, slow down a little, if possible change lanes to safely navigate around this driver. I rarely go over the speed limit. But often times all cars around me are going considerably faster, at least 20km/hr faster than the speed limit... going 110km / hr in a 90km/hr zone or going 90km/hr not realizing the speed limit has been reduced to 70km/hr so everybody is speeding and completely oblivious to the fact because everyone is simply keeping up with the flow of traffic then you have that one (usually me) actually going the speed limit. The only difference is I'd already be in the slow lane unless I commit to speeding and I shoulder check and signal before crossing over, or I do my best at it. Either way, this wasn't a smooth drive and perception is what people look at. If he went 5-10 km/hr slower he'd still be going the speed limit and quite possibly would have been able to navigate around that car better and if that's not possible be able to slow down more smoothly and maybe the passenger would have perceived her experience differently.

      @@sarah-janemelnychuk541 idiot slowing down is not a hazard, the guy in this video had right of way, the other driver should have made sure the lane was clear to change, and people are meant too keep ample distance behind your vehicle. This guy did not bother with defensive driving and allowed his ego to get the best in him it was very clear that the other driver was changing lanes and the driver almost rear ended him. In short both drivers should have paid more attention to the road, the person changing lanes should have done a head check and checked his mirrors and rear mirror and change lanes while keeping at the speed limit.
