Will Smith memes aside, he did such a fantastic job filling the shoes after Robin Williams. He portrayed Genie in his own way without tarnishing what Robin Williams did with the character. You'd be a fool to think Will didn't understand how critical people would be of his role as Genie.

Oh, imagine a land, it's a faraway place
    Where the caravan camels roam
Where you wander among every culture and tongue
It's chaotic, but hey, it's home
When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down, stop on by
    Hop a carpet and fly
    To another Arabian night
As you wind through the streets at the fabled bazaars
    With the cardamom-cluttered stalls
    You can smell every spice
    While you haggle the price
Of the silks and the satin shawls
Oh, the music that plays as you move through a maze
In the haze of your pure delight
You are caught in a dance, you are lost in the trance
    Of another Arabian night
    Arabian nights
    Like Arabian days
More often than not are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways
    Arabian nights
    Like Arabian dreams
This mystical land of magic and sand
    Is more than it seems
There's a road that may lead you to good or to greed
Through the power your wishing commands
Let the darkness unfold or find fortunes untold
Well, your destiny lies in your hands
    Only one may enter here
One whose worth lies far within
    A diamond in the rough
    Arabian nights
    Like Arabian days
They seem to excite, take off and take flight
    To shock and amaze
    Arabian nights
    'Neath Arabian moons
A fool off his guard could fall and fall hard
    Out there on the dunes

I have to say, i didn't watch original Aladdin before this live action (!!!), and when the 2:30 hit, i got goosebumps all over. Since I didnt have an original movie to compare with, for me this was a superb film.

Friend like Me and Prince Ali were amazing performances with great cinematography and dancing, I don't think they could have done better. In Friend like Me they recreated part of the scene from Stormy Weather where the Nicholas Brothers do the splits down the stairs, I thought that was cool and most people probably didn't notice.

I believe he was playing with his kids .. he acted like he was leaving, then turned around suddenly and started singing.
Plus, you could see the kids smiling when the dad turned his back. They knew he was tricking them.

I remember hearing how many people disliked this movie but for me it’s my favorite Disney remake. Great music, fantastic set design and the acting and choreography is good too. I think they could’ve picked a different actor for Aladdin but other than that I really liked it

@@tahmidtarique6077 Honestly I won't say it's flawless but compared to some of the others this makes those look like a joke.
Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast are fairly similar in quality but those three are the only remakes I watch.
