The way you tied in those wing slips was beautiful. A great fly to fish anywhere. Tie a grhe as a dry fly with those wings and a few straggly fibres as a hackle and you have a fly that will take fish all day long when the Olives are hatching.
Got some bad news for you. That's starling. Way harder than mallard. But, tbh I think mallard will just about do. I have read one opinion that mallard is too heavy and unbalances the fly, but I've found it reasonably ok.

I have always struggled with mallard wings, by doing it slowly you made it look it easy .thank you.
