The way you tied in those wing slips was beautiful. A great fly to fish anywhere. Tie a grhe as a dry fly with those wings and a few straggly fibres as a hackle and you have a fly that will take fish all day long when the Olives are hatching.

I have always struggled with mallard wings, by doing it slowly you made it look it easy .thank you.

Got some bad news for you. That's starling. Way harder than mallard.
But, tbh I think mallard will just about do. I have read one opinion that mallard is too heavy and unbalances the fly, but I've found it reasonably ok.

    Very nice!
(I'd be tempted to squeeze in a couple of wraps of partridge hackle, even though the recipe doesn't call for it.I love partridge hackle, and that's just me tying!) Thanks! 👍

    Dear Robert
That's a really nice work you did!
What floatant do you use to make your classic dry flies floating well?

Hi Michael, I use Fly-Rite's Dilly Wax on all my dries.
