    This is an 8min excerpt out of an hour maybe 2-hour long sermons. John is a great deciple of Christ and any little error he does is coverd by the blood, and we should be praying for him and people like him who are pillars and leaders in advancing the gosple.

    20 years in a cult and I warn all know the scripture I grieve I did not have a real hermeneutical basis as opposed to feelings, revelations, and supposed prophets.

    Double standards of the futurist what does SOON MEAN?
    Rev 1:1 ISV This is the revelation of Jesus the Messiah, which God gave him to show his servants the things that must happen soon. He made it known by sending his messenger to his servant John,
    What things happened soon?
    Rev 22:20 ISV The one who is testifying to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

    God Holy Spirit cannot contradict its own Word
    wrong hermeneutics results in a false Spirit, and if you try to exegete what they preach (Pentecostals) it is correct and in line with the principle.
    Besides, it is very fundamental to meditate day and night. That is what I have seen and concluded from my side, maybe the ones you figured are the ones not meditating on the Word day and night.

    There is no one, single, correct hermeneutic. It’s the multiplicity that keeps the Spirit flowing. Hermeneutics has been an evolving thing throughout the history of Christianity. James Fowler’s book Stages of Faith is worth a read. I’ve never met a preacher or person who doesn’t pluck out some scripture in a way that could be considered “out of context”.

      How do you think Jesus and Apostles interpreted the OT when they quoted them 350 times?

      @@Niko-zg6uq - I encourage your to read “A Short Introduction to Hermeneutics” by David Jasper. It demonstrates how Christians have gone about the interpretive process over the centuries. Peace and blessings 🙏

      @@newcures7813 this doesn’t answer my question. People have done allegorical interpretation throughout history that are clearly wrong.

    • @newcures7813
      @newcures7813 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Niko-zg6uq - If someone believes nothing in the Bible isn’t meant to be allegorical OR thinks that everything in the Bible is 100% literal, then there’s no proof or analysis that would change that person’s mind. Steel-man my argument for yourself and perhaps you’ll see what I’m talking about. There’s nothing really left for us to converse about. The book I mentioned isn’t very long.

      1 Cor. 13:8 we also have to have discernment and way scripture with other scripture which is rightfully dividing the word of Truth. Look at the definition of each different the word tongue in its context the Greek definition we will see when it's talking about gibberish which was paganism and when Paul was talking about human foreign languages . Nobody across the world is raising the dead or every news camera would be there . I would go far to say that anyone who does not have spiritual discernment to see but these gifts have been shed long ago may not be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Or they're just so young in their faith from lack of a personal relationship through prayer and bible study that they still hold to a lie from the devil. And some believe God can do anything (which is true) but apply that unconsciously to people being able to do it. Also, is the sacrificial system of the Torah done away with..? Or the putting to death all who commit adultery or idolatry..? Because you can't show me in the Bible where Jesus or anybody in the New Testament said those are done away with but yet from spiritual discernment we know those have been done away with.

    This sermon reminds me of two things. First, the Pharisees, who lorded it over the nation of Israel because of their education. Secondly, the Roman Catholic priests of the middle ages, who kept the common people ignorant and unable to read so they could not learn on their own. Pastor John would have us learn only from those with masters degrees or P.Hd. in Hermeneutics. Ridiculing believers with extreme examples and jokes is beneath a man of his stature.

    Ah, good one John. Model exegesis and hermeneutics for your congregation, not by actually doing any yourself, but simply by bashing charismatics. It got you a good laugh and I hope it made you feel warm inside, but it's despicable.
