    You are absolutely fabulous. What stores do you usually do your grocery shopping at? Do you stock up on anything like soda or water? Can you possibly do some in store grocery shopping videos? It would be awesome if you could show how you do your full shopping trip

      I go to different stores depending on what I need, but yes I do stock up on certain things! That sounds like an interesting idea and I’ll definitely try doing a video like that! Or at least a grocery haul 🤔

    I'd actually recommend increasing your savings by pulling anything left from a prior budget period and putting it in a separate stash or into the account or retirement where it'll draw interest. This keeps your spending even tighter. The only exception would be health.

    • @budgetmealex
      @budgetmealex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have two separate accounts I have for retirement that get drafted every month that isn’t included, so any savings I keep in my binder is extra and for no specific reason other than to save extra to have more of a cushion should I ever need it 🙂

      @@budgetmealex But retirement is for retirement and generally not accessible until 50s/60. $1190 between emergency & savings seems a little sparse. Don’t you still want savings so like 3-6m emergency fund as Dave Ramsey recommends at the minimum. Like, if something crazy happens, retirement funds isn’t accessible so savings is needed for that reason, no? Sorry, not trying to be annoying or condescending, just genuinely curious as to your thoughts on this 💕

      @@leahmcdermott4189 The retirement plan I have is actually accessible prior to that age due to the fact that it’s money already taxed and not in a 401k or anything similar. I started these accounts 10 years ago and have definitely funded a significant amount monthly with a good interest which is why my emergency fund is separate and not the only thing I have if anything were to happen. But I do appreciate the concern. If I never stuff anything else, my accounts always get money and I count them as a non negotiable part of my budget.

    You can go to customer service at Costco and give them your cash and ask to put in on a spending card. They will put in on a gift card type thing for no charge and you can use that at the pump instead of a debit or credit card! You don't even need the costco card at the pump then! I take my gas money once or twice a month and load up the card! You can keep reusing the same card too!

    Omg I got in a car accident in June (someone ran a red light) and I’m just now finally getting everything closed up and settled. We were waiting for parts forever for my car, only to find out that the insurance decided to total it! So I totally get what you’re going through. Hang in there, hopefully everything will be resolved for you very soon!🙏🏼

    Here is to hoping your car gets fixed soon. Parts are becoming harder to come by in this environment. Little bits a pieces are now hard to acquire. My grandma rear ended someone (low impact at a stop. Her car was the only one damaged, thankfully) but just the chrome detailing around the emblem for her car took like, 3 months to get.

    • @budgetmealex
      @budgetmealex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay yes!! Everything is on backorder right now! Thank God I just got a call today and even they were shocked that the parts came in and my car is finished! So I'm super thankful and picking up my car tomorrow morning. I think we were all shocked lol

    It’s been 2 or 3 weeks since I’ve watched one of your videos. I still love the attention and thought you put into your envelope. I really like yours the best. I am doing mine different because of my husband. This is big adjustment for him. Our girls are pretty good at getting money from us. This is coming to a quick stop since the two oldest now have jobs where they make more money than us. Our youngest is in grad school so we still get her Amazon wish list sent to us on a regular basis. We sent her a package this past week and she called to thank us because we both hid money in the box without telling each other. Personally I think she has good thing going. Her sisters even do stuff for her! Lol! Enjoy your week. Happy fall!🌻🌻🌻

      I appreciate the advice, but as stated in my video, I do acknowledge that having so much cash on hand is not the safest thing. I do however, keep a safe and don’t just leave my binders sit anywhere. As for what I carry on hand, I don’t believe it’s too much to consider it to be dangerous. I appreciate the concern though 🙂
