As to why the cycling paths are yellow. The architect determined that the red looks of conventional cycling paths don't really fit in the street view of the surrounding city. For example the town hall and historical post office have these old sandstone and granite looks. The designers of the new infrastructure projects in the city centre decided that these dark-yellow cycling paths fit in the surrounding environment much better! + As a bonus, the asphalt mix that has been used is a lot more durable than the mix that is normally used.
