Nikki’s stuff is more skin prep for makeup. Yes, it’s skincare, but it’s clear she focused on the makeup prep above everything else. You should try it! It GLOWS! Such a beautiful way to prep the skin. I was surprised that the cooling eye stick worked so well and didn’t leave a sticky surface. It actually helped the eye primer a lot! I was pleasantly surprised at her products.💙🧡
I'm glad you had said it had been $12 initially because I was wondering what kind of quality you would get for a palette priced at $3! I love my chocolate bar palette. I'm also not comfortable with straight up copies as I feel like it's lazy and people are being ripped off.

If people keep buying dupes, then small indy brands will keep getting ripped off. The brands creating these dupes aren't drawing a morally ambiguous line in the sand between big brands and Indy brands. Its up to us as consumers to purchase responsibly..

I've created music and I can see how someone's intellectual property is theirs alone.. however, if someone was burning my music or playing it free somewhere I'd count it as exposure and pre-covid I'd have faith in my live shows, merch and fan base bringing in plenty of cash, and just enjoy what I'm doing regardless (which still doesn't mean anyone should be okay with being taken advantage of, dont get me wrong) but I'm sure there are situations I would be pissed too and I know plenty of artists and creators and MUAs who are taken advantage of and have been justifiably pissed also. You and Theresa Is Dead are helping me cope post surgery! I'm not allowed near other humans until the 21st October because I had my tonsils out and I mustn't risk catching any germs. So I couldn't sing the swatchy song 😷! Initially I was allowed near my parents but they went to see my nephew on his birthday 3 days after my surgery and caught his cold so I am now totally alone except for my 6 month old kitty Luna! Only 5 more days of isolation to go.....
I got a bunch of those $3 palettes and ended up decluttering all of them to a young guy at work. If I had ample free time, I could spend the extra time trying to build up the colours to the vibrancy I prefer. He's just getting into makeup so I think mildly pigmented shadows like this are a good place to start.

I bought the hall collection from Nymia , Nikkie Tutorial's brand. I have very oily skin and didn't help to much with the longevity of my makeup. But it smooth the face before makeup. I would like your review on the products.
I love a good dupe, but the Go2 Beauty palette didn't do it for me. I had both palettes and I didn't think Go2 was as vibrant as the Chocolate Gold. For reference I am Mac NW45 so perhaps lack of pigment was the issue. I find that problem in quite a few palettes no matter what the price is. I donated the Go2 Beauty palette to charity. I'm sure someone else would love it. I hope you continue this dupe it series!🌞
I got so excited when I seen this in my notifications. I knew exactly what you were going to be using. I actually have that Go2 beauty palette & the only thing I've noticed about it is that it does start to fade pretty quickly. Like within a couple hours. Other than that, I do enjoy playing with it. I haven't tried anything from Two-faced yet but I do imagine it wouldn't fade as fast. Great video. I really enjoyed watching it 👍💖
That tarte pallette was the first one I ever brought, I didn't know much about make up but I saw her and fell in love. But now I see I could have got her for cheaper 😌 love spending more money
I'm wondering just how much of the slight shade difference could simply be down to batch numbers and variation over time. What would be a very interesting experiment, if affordable, would be to buy several identical palettes over a period of time and from different retailers and compare those. Theoretically they should have identical shadows but I bet they have slight variation due to storage, batching, mixing and age. I'd definitely like to see that test done Nadi! 🖤
I’ve tried copy cat/go2beauty before. I’m all for slightly similar shades in palettes that are decent for an affordable price. The problem I ran into with copycat/go2 products (I’ve only tried copy cat/go2 palettes that were advertised as dupes of the nars and too faced peach) is the fact the shades may be very similar but the formulation isn’t. The copy cat/go2 palette pigments started breaking down within 2-3 hours. I’m a person that needs my makeup to hold up all day long. If I regularly used the copycat/go2 palettes I’d have to essentially reapply my eyeshadow every 2-3 hours and that’s using a lot of product so I wouldn’t be saving any money. It’s kinda like how you can purchase a cheap 2 dollar lotion over a 10 dollar one but you’d have to use the cheap lotion multiple times a day for the same effect whilst using up so much product that it’s actually not economical. The copycat/go 2 palettes would probably be okay for teens on budget though.

On my TV they look entirely identical. Maybe the Too Faced is better quality but the price difference would have me reaching for nitroglycerin if I needed it. As it is, it just makes me think that higher end makeup by brands that can produce at volume is priced insane.

If companies priced their products more reasonably, people probably wouldn't look for dupes. In my opinion 95$ for an eyeshadow pallet is ridiculous, you're really just paying for the name. Colourpop and bh cosmetics is a prime example of quality makeup for a lower Price, obviously they can be made cheaper. Hope this makes sense English isn't my native language
Too Faced is part of the Estée Lauder conglomerate so I doubt they private label their makeup products but being part of this mammoth is why they don’t do anything new. When a brand is bought by Estée Lauder it becomes boring and fears innovation.
I feel like there's a difference between a straight up copy and just a dupe. A copy would be the same colors, finshes,layout, etc, while a dupe is just a similar color story.
I got the Too Faced Palm Springs Dreams palette. None of the glitters picked up or stuck. The mattes were hit/miss. I tossed it & haven't bought any of their eye products again. The melted mattes are great, but TF charges too much money for the quality to not be there 100% of the time.
I’m going to echo the comments below. There are plenty of brands that I don’t support (too expensive, not inclusive, bad business practices, racist, etc). But, I can admire a good color story and either recreate it with my single shades or a dupe/ similar vibes from a company I do support.

Two Faced is manufactured by Estee Lauder. Crown does private label but this isn't one of them. They do Morphe though as I understand it.
