+Gabriel Pelayo I'm pretty sure this whole fight theme uses an RP2A03 chipset soundfont, the reason that sounds so close is that the gameboys in MPC use a basic squarewave like you would hear from that. But he does use the mario paint soundfont in whatever DAW he uses. So he doesn't use MPC but he uses sounds from it. Because even though dogsong is made with only MPC sounds, it would be impossible to recreate it exactly in MPC due to how high and low some of the barks are played. Hope that helps.
i'm so glad there are mpc users in the undertale fandom!!!!!!!! i've been using it for awhile and considered making undertale music in it but this song you made is definitely way better than anything i could create. really awesome job man this was such a pleasure to listen to :D
I can see why this is better than Mario Paint Composer...from what I'm guessing, it's easier to echo and shorten the notes, and it also has a much bigger octave range. *CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK*
This sounds like it's ripped straight from a Super Nintendo game, as if Undertale was released around the time the original EarthBound was released! Great job!
As a general rule, sure, just give a quick credit somewhere. Even if I can't possibly imagine what sort of AU these covers specifically would be relevant for.
I'm pretty much the least qualified person to offer tech support for this thing, but if I had to hazard a guess maybe you need to install a newer (or older) version of Java.
I couldn't actually get the arranger for super mario paint to work. Loaded in 2 songs into the arranger, and when I hit play it scrolled to the beginning of the first song but just didn't play it. I could press stop so I knew the program hadn't crashed. Any idea how to fix this?
Weston Moulton Haven't tried it yet but there is a soundset3.sf2 in the main directory so I'd assume so. Probably wouldn't do anything to help the stability issues, though.
+ahbeef It's something that afaik only Super Mario Paint has; manual note/instrument cutoffs. Definitely much more convenient than exploiting the low-note cutoff glitch in Mario Paint Composer. SMP also has a per-instrument toggle so that a new note from the same instrument doesn't automatically silence the previous one; very handy if you want a specific sort of reverb effect, or to to use one instrument for two separate tracks. I need to play around with that more. SMP does have a tendency to crash a lot though.

+Esper Holy hell I'm just realizing now how similar this dog and that dog are in design. Wow. You'd think I'd have realized that based on Dogsong.
1:09 sounds just like the original.Sometimes I wonder if Toby actually made the songs in MPC.
+Gabriel Pelayo dogsong sounds like it was made in mario paint, too

Dogsong was made using the bell and dog sounds in Mario Paint
yeah the did you know gaming that came out a little while ago talks a bit about it, and other soundfonts used. I suggest taking a look at it.

This sounds like a battle theme in Super Mario RPG.
I never quite realized how "Phantom of the Opera" some parts of the song get until listening to this.
*You struggle to get out of the web of close enough.Muffet covers her mouth and giggles at you.

Spider Dance + Duane = SO FITTING!!!
This sounds like it's ripped straight from a Super Nintendo game, as if Undertale was released around the time the original EarthBound was released! Great job!
A section of the composition at around 0:50 sounds much lower than it is in the original.

+pcljminer That's a feature of Super Mario Paint versus Mario Paint Composer.

MediaMunkee, i install, when i open it closes! Can you help me?
I tried ALL... but not opens :(
I'm pretty much the least qualified person to offer tech support for this thing, but if I had to hazard a guess maybe you need to install a newer (or older) version of Java.
I tried the newest version of Java, but not works :(

+Penguin4478 I'm working on fixing it, but I'm only one person and I have real life to tend to....
Ah, it's fine. I read a while back that I could just stuck them in the "prefs" folder and it'll work, which is just fine with me.
I've written out Spider Dance and made a MIDI; search /r/undertale for "spider dance sheet music".
how do the gray notes
+amine Oueslati Those are mute notes. There's toggle buttons near the play and stop buttons.
wow your very smart I think this takes long
reminds me of a pokemon diamond fight for some reason.

wow O.o
Quick question. What's the difference between this and Mario paint composer? Great song btw
+Weston Moulton Staccatos without having to exploit a glitch, and a slightly increased octave limit.
+MediaMunkee can you change soundfonts as well?
Weston Moulton Haven't tried it yet but there is a soundset3.sf2 in the main directory so I'd assume so. Probably wouldn't do anything to help the stability issues, though.
+MediaMunkee I'll give it a try then. Thanks!
+Weston Moulton As far as I know, you can change soundfonts.
The ability to do that in the program is a planned feature.
what are those gray notes?
+ahbeef It's something that afaik only Super Mario Paint has; manual note/instrument cutoffs. Definitely much more convenient than exploiting the low-note cutoff glitch in Mario Paint Composer. oh ok, i might check that out then. it sounds pretty great
+ahbeef
Advanced Mario Sequencer has per-instrument cutoffs but I took it a little further and made per-note cutoffs on Super Mario Paint.
sounds like
a midi
when I can't even do a basic song
**muffet craps you*
ok at first you're using like 1000000 mettaton faces, or then in the middle, you were using 1000000000 Mario h
