I recently got the TerraMaster F5-422, because 5x3.5" disks and 10GbE Ethernet, Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J3455 @ 1.50GHz (4Core). a great box... Soon to use it at full 10GbE speed, waiting for the switch, I have 10GbE fiber (easy in France).
Assuming this is connected to a switch/router, and start.terra-master.com does not work for you, then the easiest thing is to download their utility (support.terra-master.com/download) and let it find it.
I had strongly considered a terramaster nas but if i used one would have likely used a different NAS Software on the unit than the stock one. I went with synology only cause I have extensive experience with them and felt they are worth the premium.
I ended up returning the synology for a terramaster because the issue was that the synology had a gigabit connection and was limiting my speeds for transfers and etc. The Terramaster had 2.5g my pc has that as well so it seems like it will perform better long term, can also upgrade the ram easier in the terramaster and the processor is a generation newer so kind of seemed better after thinking it over. I also am using Seagate Ironwolf drives as the 2tb reds in my old system were loud and ran a good 10 degrees hotter on average than the seagates in that same server had 4 2 tb drives. 2 reds 2 ironwolfs @@MikeFaucher
Hopefully it works out well had a computer die in the house after my old nas reached end of life lost quite a lot of documents off that computer Freaked me out a bit and now im trying to get everything backed up as i have a bunch of documents going back 2 years for a club im in that nearly got deleted with that computer failure. @@MikeFaucher
Wow, great question. If your Drobo still works I would copy over the data to your new NAS. If the Drobo is not working there are utilities (though I never tried them) that are able to extract the data from them. To the best of my knowledge, there is no direct import.
If is is running, you can do it from the update section of the control panel. Go to TOS Desktop> Control Panel> General Settings> Restore to Factory Default; Check "Restore to factory default"; Click "Apply". If you cannot log onto TOS, you can reboot your device without any hard drives and click Login and follow the instructions to reset it.
Did you hit Skip verification? This screen is only for creating an admin user and device name. If you do not skip verification, it wil wait till you get the email and verify it before it lets you proceed. What steps did you perform? As there is no data at this point, if it still gets stuck, you will have to do a full factory reset and try again. There are some instructions on doing that if you should have to.
If you want to run Emby, I would suggest an Intel processor. The process in this unit did not support emby at the time of testing. As this was on loan to me for a few month, I no longer have it so I can not verify, however the QNAP and Synology that use the Intel processor will support hardware decoding.
Sorry to hear that. I currently have a couple of units from Terramaster running and have not had this issue. Not sure how much troubleshooting you did but this symptom can be caused by several things. You might consider reaching out to their tech support. Thanks for th feedback and good luck.
At over 55. I've just bought the Terramaster F2-212 to use as a home music server and nas drive.
Glad to hear it. It is a pretty good unit for file storage. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Awesome. Congrats and very nice unit. You will love 10G performance. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a great box.
I'm looking to use this NAS to use as storage for my local AI RAG to help the AI understand my novels. Do you think it will be suitable?
Have not run an AI app on this before and do not know what type of CPU power you will need so I can't really answers this.
@@MikeFaucher That's fair. I've decided to just attach a large external drive to my AI PC instead.
Hi I just bought my own f2 212 and my computer can't locate the NAS, Is there a solution for this?

Not a bad approach.

Looking for a Drobo solution so I can copy over my Drobo HDDs' to it. Is this possible and if yes best way to proceed?

I was also wondering, how do I factory reset the terramaster f2-212

I just bought my TERRAMASTER F2-212 I am stuck on the super user settings. It won’t go to the next step

I think I did is there anyway to reset
Please review Terramaster D5
I would love to but currently Terramaster has not been very responsive. If can get one I will do a review.
Can it run emby well

My f4 423 logs out and you have to log back in by powering it down……not recommending any terramaster
