And the excellent Medieval and Renaissance guitar interpretations of Jon Sayles,
www.jsayles.com/familypages/ea...
who in his website says: “All of the recordings on this site are freely available - for you to download & listen, burn to CDs, share (eMail) to anyone, use in school assignments or as incidental music for plays, for software games, background music for period events (Renaissance fairs), TH-cam videos, etc. In other words, none of this stuff is for sale. Please listen, enjoy and use as you will”. Thank you, my dear friend.

The question "Where did surnames get started, and how?" popped into my head about 30 minutes ago.
Lo and behold! I find the most in-depth answer I could've hoped for. Thanks a ton for putting in the time to make this video, or sharing it, if you didn't make it.
So many things we take for granted. Like the idea of progress.
Great video, there are some strange surnames in the netherlands, when people believed that Napoleon's laws wouldn't last. That's why you have names like "naaktgeboren"(born naked) or "springintveld" (jump in the field).
excellent presentation. thanks.
Thank you for the amazing video. It is so informative!!
so if some surnames are made after professions what did John Hancock's family do?
😂😂😂😂
This was most educational and shed some light on some questions I've wondered about my own ancestry. Ver well done! 😁🌹❤️🤔👍🎧😎
Thank you :) very informative!!!

Temple is a very well used name especially in Church(another name for a Temple),they were groundskeepers/laborers for the Templar Knights, that's where they took it the surname from,my other ancestors surnames I am still researching, thanks for this video🛂
Thank you, as I understand a bit better now.
My surname means in French: of the sin (de Pecche)...It was a nick name the Normans gave my ancestor...Normans loved nick names!
Here's a last name you don't hear much anymore: Flintstone
great video!

“Hmmm that song around 25:00 feel very familiar... oh wait it’s from Dragon age Inquisition’s tavern song called grey warden something”
Very informative
Thank you :)
alice named her daughter allison... am i doing this right?
Have to disagree on the Day one, the Welsh word for David is Dewi, or Dafyd. The surname Day is more closely resembling the Middle English word Dey meaning a dairymaid or a dairy woman.
I have a weird surname
