Sounds very similar to Hendrix' All along the watchtower. Written about 45 years ago.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

He was a part of one them ,then left for the gold, leaving four for dead, he'll never know now, what has now passed never to be all for the love of money. Sad tails

WHY IS WHEN AN ARTIST MAKES IT "BIG" WE HAVE TO LABEL THEM AS A SELLOUT OR CHASING MONEY? WHEN WE TAKE A PROMOTION OR A NEW JOB TO BETTER OUR LIFE FOR OUR FAMILY ARE WE SELLOUTS? CHRIS STAPLETON IS MAKING ORIGINAL MUSIC THAT HE IS WRITING, AND IT DOESNT FIT THE MOLD OF POP COUNTRY RADIO, SO WHY DO WE JUST ASSUME IT IS ONLY ABOUT MONEY?

@@darinball441 Why must some people type with caps on? That's the real mystery. Must think they are really important, yelling like that.

Money was likely a part of why he left, but it was also because like it or not, this group was holding him back. The thousands of songs he's written, the songs he sings, and the way he performs them.. No way he would have been able to do all of that in this group. Now that he's "found the gold", look at how many millions of people's lives he's touched that likely would have never even heard of him had he stayed in a bluegrass band. And on top of that, he's allowed us to see the Jompson Brothers, and the old AND new Steeldrivers. So take that sad story, and place it somewhere else because it doesn't belong with Chris.

@@darinball441 i feel you 100% everyone should make music independent.
Nobody makes music to support other people mostly none.
