I think you don’t need the marquee to actually do the second trick, you can directly copy and paste, juste select, copy and paste back

Awesome! Thanks for the comment. You're totally right, selecting and copying serves the same function as selecting with the marquee tool. Thanks

Nice tricks, but a bit outdated. Now you can make and save 3d views for all those purposes, and they will be fully updated anytime you change the model.

Thanks Rogelio. True, you can save 3D views / 3D docs of all these, but they cannot be placed back on the working floorplan. This workflow may seem strange, but it's not a typical project file... it's a large central library used for conditioning data and dialing in visual settings. I'm going for maximum visual feedback while browsing in 2D, and not concerned with actually creating drawings of these sample scopes. On a real project file I would be, and would use the method you described! Thanks for the comment!

second and third 'tricks' separate the drawing from the model. This is not good practice. Live views can be placed onto a layout which will update as the design changes. Use trace/reference rather than copy/paste

CONTRABIM is certainly going to have to do a lot better than that to show us old dogs a new "trick" :)
