    The fact that a hackintosh like this is possible is fucking awesome and amazing. The fact that it was this easy to figure out is even more amazing.

      Funny thing once I tried to install Hackintosh on old netbook Samsung NC-10, and it has the same problem with Wi-Fi and there was only one solution to buy another Wi-Fi module and install to the netbook.

    • @ahmettay2382
      @ahmettay2382 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@interzoneboy yeah, even nearly all webcams work but, wifi and Bluetooth has problems, its a lot more complicated than webcams ok but, hackintosh community does not care and just tells you to buy an supported wifi/Bluetooth module..

    There are several threads on TonyMac discussing the GPD Win 2 you may find helpful. My Win2 runs Mojave well including graphics acceleration but I haven’t solved power management yet (I don’t have a battery gauge) and I can either have the internal keyboard or the rear USB port but seemingly not both. However I do have working BT and use a Jellycomb external keyboard for typing.
    For wi-fi I have an Aoyool dual-band 802.11ac USB dongle which has a decent Mac driver and works well.
    I mostly run hackintoshes so that when travelling I have something netbook-sized that’s easy to replace if it gets damaged or lost. I wish this were a market segment Apple were interested in but as they’re not I suspect a P2 Max is in my future :)

      They could re introduced a old normal MacBook as a MacBook Mini Make it 8.9 and 7.9 version for the screen

      Sadly Apple haven't been interested in the subnote category since the Duo series in the mid 90s. That's a large part of the reason I've dabbled in Hackintosh builds.
      The P2 Max comes pretty damn close to Macbook 2017 equivalence if paired with a USB wifi and a Magic Trackpad but I finally cracked and built the real thing from several trashed systems I picked up on eBay and I still use it for browsing, writing slide decks, and playing minecraft. It has an i7-7y75 which gives a slight performance bump for graphics though that's a moot point on macOS. Good battery life though.
      I have an iPad Mini 6 I use for note-taking and a bit of light gaming when I'm travelling and that really shows what Apple could do in the subnote/handheld space if they wanted to. It's Geekbench compute score is 13,895 which is about 30% higher than the i5-1038G7 in the 2020 MacBook Pro 13 and the CPU scores 1592/4488. I'd love to be able to run a full desktop OS on it instead of iOS.

    Looks to be the same result as with the Pocket 2 so far, which makes sense. So far I have not been able to get the onboard screen to work with hardware acceleration.
    I’ve actually shared my EFI folder with how far I’ve come on Discord and Reddit too if you’d like to take a look, maybe together we’ll be able to figure it out.

  • @Dojinshiii
    @Dojinshiii 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Prime example of why you don't Hackintosh. If you want macOS, just buy the machine. Or, and here's something, use Linux or BSD. You'll be just as-- no, more satisfied than you would be with macOS. Assuming you aren't a lazy pragmatist.

    • @Undercoverfire
      @Undercoverfire 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a Hackintosh for Pro Tools because I wanted top end specs for half the price and I'm an experienced PC builder.
      Suffice it to say that there are edge cases where Hackintosh is worth it.

    • @Dojinshiii
      @Dojinshiii 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Undercoverfire This is false. Instead of paying for a software as a service, a very foolish purchase might I add, you could be saving that money and using Linux or even BSD with alternative software that is extremely comparable.
      Alternatives Include, but at not limited to:
      - Traverso DAW
      - Firinka
      - OpenOctave
      - Luppp
      - JAMin
      - Ecasound
      - LMMS
      - Cakewalk
      With many of these alternatives that I have listened, you don't need macOS or even Windows. Also, all of these programs are free of cost and some of them are open source as well.
      This leaves no market for the edge cases that you have mentioned.
      If you look at it from an objective stance, since you wanted to save money in regards to hardware, you could've saved more by using Linux, or even FreeBSD, and using one of the programs I have listed above.
      When it boils down to the facts of it, it reveals the truth of the matter, and that is that you were unfortunately lazy when looking into your choice of software and operating system.
      Not to mention, you are also losing features from your Hackintosh.
      Since you're well acclimated to PC building, then you should also understand that macOS has official support for only a limited amount of hardware, and there is also issues that persist outside of just hardware compatibility.
      You also lose features such as iMessage.
      Overall, you have limited and crippled your experience in your field do to your own lack of research and your own laziness when making choices.
