Even though Nikolas has been controlled and raised by Stefan and somewhat spoiled, he seems to be rather wise for his age and I appreciate that he is not letting Stefan play mind games with him. Nikolas has been betrayed and lied too his whole life, now things are coming out in the open and still Stefan plays his mind games with Nikolas. Tyler was a fantastic actor from day one of playing Nikolas, so heartbreaking he has passed and way too young. At least we have these memories and can watch this incredible actor play this character Nikolas that he played so superbly all those years.
He'll be the only Nicholas in my view. Tyler. So sad. He was so good. Similar to Billy Miller (GH treated him so unfairly, he did wonders as a better Jason than Burton was and better Drew than Cameron is - Miller made anything work /believable) Tyler was gone too soon.
I hated Luke and Lucky during this storyline. They were seflish and did nothing but make Laura prove her love. I mean, that acted like she could not love all of her children. Like it was the ultimate betrayal unless she turned her back on Nikolas. Luke was a jealous fool. He used emotional abuse and guilt to control her.
Agreed . It's one thing for Lucky, used to being the only son, to feel jealous and hurt and act out. But Luke? He was written very badly at this time. It was hard to watch.
Reading all of the comments here shows exactly how good the writers at GH were at the time. Most would lead me to believe a lot of folks fell into the trap of thinking this is actually factual rather than a soap all these years since the original broadcast. Take it for what it is. It's a great story with great characters taking us down a path led by incredibly talented actors whether we think those characters are good, bad or indifferent.
I find this a lot with comments about GH from this era, that people get so angry about what the characters are doing, as if it's real life and not a soap opera... like, the drama is literally what makes soap operas good. If everyone was just honest all the time and didn't have ulterior motives or do bad things sometimes, it would be so boring lol

Robert could have found a way for Holly to stay in the US without marrying her. the producers were setting up Robert and Holly as a couple to replace Luke and Laura. Unfortunately for them, Holly has/had a lot more chemistry with Luke than with Robert, sorry. That created a problem. In the storyline, Luke got hit by avalanche, became paralyzed, overcame his paralysis. He came back just to find out that Holly got pregnant by him, lost the baby while with Robert and seemed to have moved on. Luke was devastated. He did not treat Holly horribly, he was upset and Robert couldn't do squat. One thing Luke Spencer has never been, was pathetic. He moved on after Holly and he moved on after Laura. You think either Holly or Laura would have reacted better under similar circumstances? I don't think so. Its Luke Spencer.

I'm just catching up from the very beginning and I quite enjoyed it. Then I skipped some parts and I plan to go back to the return of 83. Now at this point right here - I can't believe this Luke. And no way could/should a child act like this Lucky. I''m not feeling it at all.....and it's hard to watch.

Sonny uncharacteristically gives Luke the best advice during this not that Luke listens be the one to give your wife what she needs ie Nikolas instead he becomes the obstacle and Stefan has all the more room to play white knight, this is when sonny was actually a decent character that also later refuses to hurt Nikolas because that would only hurt Laura and he wanted no part in that.
