Cool, I'll do that. I just purchased an older Fisher CZ-6. It's an analog machine that transmits 2 frequencies. I've only got to test it for about 2 hours so far, but it runs supper smooth and quiet. It also has a salt mode for wet sand, manual GB, and a cool looking meter. This thing is 20 years old and still air tested 9 inches on a dime. It's a little heavy, but has a built in bracket to mount on your belt. I'm sure the newer CZ's are pretty awesome.
Just go to google and type in Teknetics T2.There's a website called Kitchen Touches that is selling the T2 for $666. dollars.I just bought a Bounty Hunter Timeranger on ebay for $174. dollars.I also was looking at the T2 but went for the Timeranger. You can buy an optional 11inch coil for it also. The Timeranger has some really good features.Just go to google and type in Bounty Hunter Timeranger.I should get it Thursday and run some tests.
I think that the Platinum with the 11 coil does a great job, and the lower frequency should it hard on the high conductors. The Platinum with the stock coil didn't go quite that deep. If I was going to talk dollars, I would split the difference and get a Teknetics Omega. Same frequency as the Plat, but a lot more powerful and has a manual Ground Balance. I think the Omega is a steal considering the performance I've seen. It looks to rival the top end machines for a lot less dough :)
Awesome video man, I use a platinum with an F-5 coil and I love it!! Still pulling out stuff at the same depths as high end machines, it's great to see a demonstration of it like this.
Kennynva T. I used the 11 inch DD for the F5. Go to Kellyco metal detectors, and look under Fisher search coils. They have the coil there. Pick the DD coil for the Fisher F5 with the push in style connector. They also have the screw on, and this one will not work. Item:12-11coilf5
It may be possible, but I can't tell you for sure. I just test and review, I don't work for these companies. If it was me I'd just get the coil with the push in style connector. The coils aren't cheap, but if your finding good stuff in your area, it would be worth it for the extra performance gains.
@52969RST , I think the AT Pro is a good machine. I just did this as a response to another vid I saw where the AT could not pick up a half at 8", but mineralization could have been a factor. Other videos have also shown that it may not be as deep as the T2. The T2 in all metal mode goes very deep, but it has less features than the AT. I would love to test one out to be sure. The ATPro looks pretty sweet to me.
For the money, I think that the Teknetics Omega is one of the best detectors out there. It starts at $599. The BH Platinum is pretty darn good for $299. If I was looking at spending $200, I would pick up the Fisher F2. It is a very light weight, well built detector with numeric target ID. There are several coil options for it as well. I would be afraid to buy the wildgame machine. I'm sure it's made in china, and probably can't get any accesories for it or customer service.
I found the BH Platinum at metal detector (dot)com. I had to spell it out, for some reason you can't put links in the comments. It's around $299 USD. It's a good machine. If I was you, I'd get the best machine I could afford, if I was going to do a lot of detecting. I spent a lot of money upgrading, and would have made out cheaper if I would have purchased a nice mid level unit to start. I personaly think the Teknetics Omega is one of the best deals out there of Fisher F4 looks good to me.
I finally got the Bounty Hunter Timeranger. For the money this quite a detector.I also own a White's VX3 detector that I paid $1100 for.I like the Bounty Hunter better. The discriminate feature for tones on different metals is really, really good.Better than the White's.I also bought the 11" coil for it.Am still doing tests for depth. Will let you my results soon.
I no longer have the T2 . I have an F75 and an Omega now. I like them both, but the Omega is amazing for the money. It will hit a 7 inch dime hard with the 5 inch coil, and it doesn't lose any depth when you disc out the tiny iron. The F75 will lose a little. In my last video I dug an 1857 seated with the Omega, in a site filled with old iron. I think a house had burned down. 1000's of nails.
If you are testing inside the house, you may not get the best results. Make a coin garden outside. Start with coins at 6 inches in a spot with clean ground. Get a good ground balance and then see what happens. Older coins may be found deeper due to the halo effect of metal being in the ground a while.
Meteorites seem to have a high iron content, as far as i know anyway, so the Platinum would be fine. You could get by with an even cheaper unit, like a Garrett ace 250 or Fisher F2. There is a ton of iron out there, so the hunting could be tough, unless you are in an area that hasn't seen many people. Large iron objects can read beyond the iron zone on the display, so if you are out in the desert you may want to dig all metal.
I found it on ebay. The store was an authorized dealer, so it worked out well. I have noticed that many of the large detector shops sell on ebay, so the prices are great and no sales tax, so far anyway :)
It shouldn't really do that. If you have a cover protecting the coil, you may want to take it off and make sure it's clean inside. The dirt that gets trapped can become magnetised and cause some false signal problems. If that's not the case check to see if the detector falses when you move the coil wire. I try to give mine some slack at the bottom to prevent shorting out the wire at the coil connection.
I did this test because another Detectorist was having trouble finding a half dollar at 8 inches with the AT Pro. Some people think that the other metal detectors will not go any deeper, so I posted this! The T2 is a deep seeking machine, and could go even deeper on a coin that large. I think It could pick it up at 12".More testing will be done, and I'll let everyone know.
Hey great video! Made me happy with my new bounty hunter platinum purchase. Since I’m new to the game, I was wondering if you could make a video of an operating tutorial for the platinum. That would be a huge help.
Wow,someone got ripped! I saw a used M6 go for more than a brand new one recently. The guy had a huge description, stating how it would find tiny gold nuggets and that it was the deepest detector etc.. I guess there are buyers out there that do not research the items they are bidding on. Crazy :)
Some machines will work much better in the wet sand or high mineralization if you turn up the discrimination to get rid of iron & foil. You may lose very small gold, but at least it will run stable enough to find some stuff. It may be worth a try, and if you keep swinging a heavy detector, you'll have arms like Arnold in no time :)
Cool. I hate it when people underestimate the BH detectors. They get the job done for a very reasonable price, so the finds soon become profits. It's sure is hard to pay for that $2000 dollar job. They are cool, but an inexpensive Bounty Hunter will pull plenty of goodies.
I too owned a T2SE (special edition w/ boost mode). When the T2 is in All Metal mode, it IS deep. But when you switched to to DISC mode, at 90 sensitivity, it would only chirp and give slight one way hits on that 8 inch half dollar. The question is: If one was walking along and all he heard was those chirps....and indeed the T2 will chirp ALOT at 90% sens., will he dig that sound if it is only chirps? I would like to see a silver dime used at 8 inches if you test again. It will be interesting.
HI...I might have ask you before..what is the coil on your BH..I have the same detector.I think you said it was from a fisher f5 with the plug in connector...I want the coil that is the next smaller, the, I think 8 dd ...do you know of such a coil?
I'm not sure if they have another DD coil with the right connector. I was using the 11 inch DD coil. They also have a 5 inch DD with the push in connector for the F5. That one would work fine for heavy trash, but would not be as deep as the 11 inch coil. They also have an 8 inch elliptical coil that will work on the Platinum. Any Fisher F5 coil will work, as long as it has the push in style connector.
could you please tell me on what web site you purchased your T2 for $650? The best i have found it for its been for 899. Is the platinum bounty hunter a good buy? thank you.
Just wondering. I see that the bounty hunter platinum seems to pick up the coin just as well as the t2. Now I understand that the two machines are different and that the t2 "should" be a much better machine, but do you really "feel" the $450 difference???
The Teknetics T2 is better, but costs more. The T2 goes much deeper in the "all metals" mode. It also gives target ID in all metals, and the BH Platinum does not have any target identification in that mode.
I was getting change from a Lady a few days ago and she smiled at me and asked me if I wanted a 50 cent piece and I told her I would be scared of it.I would have felt much safer if she had just said Free. LOL 😂

Came back for a review fix thx again ... Dam metal detecting bug , good thing theres no cure lol

which coild did you use, and where did you get it?

Carolina Coin Hunter Just search that item number. That's the one! 12-11coilf5
Just curious..can you take a screw on connector off and solder a push in connector to fit the BH Platinum Pro????
It may be possible, but I can't tell you for sure. I just test and review, I don't work for these companies. If it was me I'd just get the coil with the push in style connector. Thanks for watching, and for the Ground Grab tips. I need to get an AT Pro and hit the water holes:) GL & HH!

I have T2 and AT/pro and the T2 picks up deeper targets... but AT/pro is a great machine with larger coil and really comes alive.
Hey great video! Made me happy with my new bounty hunter platinum purchase. Since I’m new to the game, I was wondering if you could make a video of an operating tutorial for the platinum. That would be a huge help.
Not a big fan of depth tests but yours was well done and well explained .
Well done need more T2 vids ,awesome
Yea, I saw some Omega videos with some very deep finds. The Omega is a nice machine.
Wow,someone got ripped! I saw a used M6 go for more than a brand new one recently. The guy had a huge description, stating how it would find tiny gold nuggets and that it was the deepest detector etc.. I guess there are buyers out there that do not research the items they are bidding on. Crazy :)

Hello Frank. I really appreciate your help. Please let me know how that timeranger worked out for you.
where did you find the T2 for that price? I have a ATPRO but looking for a more solid land detector the T2 looks great! What do you think about it?
good test vid dude
have you ever used the ATPRO? do you think the t2 is a better machine?
hello do t2 test and compare the slope of the BH
look at my tests

Yep. That's it :)
