brought mine 4 weeks ago. Installs confidence over the two times I have ridden it. My previous ride was way back in 1985. I am 72 and only had 400cc bikes before that. I must say I am stuggling on roundabouts but thats just a matter of getting my line and confidence in place. The respondse from the motor is immediate can seam a little snatchy.

I was also looking for a Kawasaki W800, A Triumph Speed Twin 900 and a Royal Enfield 650 interceptor but while they may more have the retro vibe they also weigh more and and have less power. The Kawasaki is lighter and more power. And if you don't look after these mentioned motorbikes the chrome will look very nasty.

Hey! I got the same bike and it will be my second year driving around. Are you downshifting without the clutch and blipping the throttle? I rely way too much on the brakes and clutch before downshifting, only trying to get better!

Great bike you have! It’s a great bike to learn how to ride. First of all, I’m no professional, just a guy who loves riding with some experience. But what I do is touching the clutch lever just a little bit, while applying some throttle and shifting back. This makes the transition between gears much smoother. You should always aim to be smooth and minimise hard breaking, especially on the open road. If I’m correct the z650 has a slipper clutch, which means you can pretty much practice this technique with minimal risk. Ride safe brother 💪🏽
