So small fun fact: Volo isnt actually a bard. He's a Wizard. Which is why he is REALLY bad at poetry and songs when encountered in the Goblin Camp.

He could be both. Whenever you're playing music, one of the random text pop-ups from the NPCs is "Know any Volo tunes?". His bumbling at the Goblin camp was because he was terrified lmao
Nah then why would he need a potion of invis and not just cast a spell, and use a ice pick and not magic to get the parasite??
@@ImfrAfreak Oh thats easy. Not his trained area. Or Potions are just easier to do than spells. Same for the Ice pick, just a more hands on approach.
Small thing for the grym fight: You can activate the valve with a bow shot so you can save yourself the jump and position before the fight and trigger the valve with an arrow.
That makes a lot of sense haha

I think for an extra challenge you should turn on Karmic Dice so that they can guarantee your rolls being progressively worse despite existing to make them better.

I've been watching various BG3 challenge videos, but they usually all make some cheesy respecced multiclass build, and use plenty of barrelmancy, which makes it kind of pointless.

So entertaining how you do these runs and videos. Somebody may have mentioned this, but you can just send in Scratch to pop the mephit ambush while hiding above. It is then easy to pick them off with a bow. If he isn't your familiar yet, you can just long rest without supplies to advance things like that.
I'm surprised you didn't pick up the wonderous gloves in the underdark. +1 to AC and an additional bardic inspiration dice. Either way this is going to be one crazy run and I'm here for it.
Yeah I'm a little surprised about that too, I forgot they existed cause I was so focused on getting the flawed helldusk gauntlets in act 2 haha

A fun tip, If you wanna grab the ring of protection you can complete the investigate kauga quest. if you do things right the ritual will stop meaning you can take the idol and get the ring consequence free!

Great MC build. I rolled something similar, but with a party. Using Karlach and Wyll as warlocks and Shadowheart as a Light Cleric.

I played a Bard Lonewolf (mostly) but focused on Shield/Sword combo in Act II and III. It hugely increased my survivability while my damage was still high enough.
Sad to say I didn't realize that the key to the minthara structural damage approach was going into turn-based mode... I literally reloaded that moment over 8 times trying to do it in real time LOL great video though
It’ll be fun to see how this compares to the Fighter in the long run.
I will say for the mephit fight you could drink an Elixer of Vigilance. It gives a +5 to your initiative and prevents you from being surprised. You still killed without it, but this might help you out with future runs.
The fight is even fully avoidable by just sneaking past them to the mythrill ore

I played act 1 for 3rd time, just ran past everyone with invisibility as wizard into act 2 straight to moonrise towers with the spider. Goblin camp bypass to creche, avoid creche into shadow lands, call for bard without lyre. Level 3 into moonrise towers.
Edit: So my point was act 1 is completely optional
Act 2 has one mandatory fight, for the netherstone.
Even act 2 can be cheese with invis + runepowder barrel to make it optional. Act 3 is optional if u have gale ending. :]

OH YA some more bg3 challenge runs!!!
I'm on my second lonewolf run as my first one got corrupted at the end of Act 2, and honestly it's so much fun. Granted I don't impose on myself the same limitations; I used a lot of barrelmancy on my first solo run, and now on my second I'm doing Durge with full illithid powers. On both playthroughs, I've discovered that invisibility is broken if you're doing lonewolf as you can keep resetting combat.
its a shame u didn't go college of lore bard, u can get some nice spell slot efficiency with call lightning, spiritual weapon and conjure elemental, plus the rest of the lore features are rlly good

in the trap room where withers is you can just press a button right next to the middle sacrophagus to deactivate the trap
I'd love to see this done with Permadeath. A chronicled death-free run that isn't a ranged gloom talker or some other variant.

For the mephit fight you can summon scratch from the broken bridge and he takes the aggro and surprised round. (I prefer doing this with mage hand for obvious reasons)

About that pit fall in the overgrown ruins, the bunch of ruin raiders you encounter after falling down the hole can be easily annihilated by throwing a fireball or a lit torch at the red barrel in the middle of them :)
Yeah. Level two encounters are typically made quite easy by a mid game spell lol
A tip for Nere and Brithvar, you don't ACTUALLY need to kill the scrying eye to get them to help in the fight. Personally I just talked to them about their plot, got to the step where you need to kill the eye, and then just attacked Nere anyways after freeing him. They'll automatically join in as neutral to you, but hostile to Nere and his allies.

In druid's grove, over by Alfira, there's a hat that when you inspire an ally, you heal 1-6 hp, but I guess that doesn't really work with solo.

@@the_truant With any weapon-based class ( as opposed to something like a Sorc that HAS to long rest), I keep that bless along with bliss spores and morninglord's blessing throughout half of Act 1 and all of act 2. Also, the +5 shar's blessing to all mental stats. You just need to not have Laezel in your party so that Voss doesn't show up and force a long rest.
For a party of 4 is normal Difficulty too easy?
@@joseywales7463 It really depends on whether it is your first playthrough. If you aren't too familiar with the game and the encounters, it can be hard sometimes on 4 party normal.
I only play solo tactician, after trying the game for a bit on balanced and with a party. Once you have a decent idea of the game, and especially if you know about a fight beforehand, anything less than solo tactician is trivial. With certain characters, like a gloomstalker, fire sorc, or fighter, it is realistic to never die once on solo tactician even as a single class with no respeccing and no barrel stuff.
