Yes, I have so much trouble with this too! I don't how to properly clean it, I haven't found a method that gets it really clean, and it always looks terrible.

Thank you for all your cleaning advice. I am looking for the best way to clean beautiful wood trim and ornate wood stained window trim. It has a semi-gloss to it and I want to keep it looking beautiful. Also I wood rim has an area of wear, what is the best way to repair that.
You said you did not recommend mixing baking soda and vinegar for cleaning, but if I am not mistaken, your guide to cleaning a cat litter box involved sprinkling baking soda and then pouring vinegar over it. So what is the new best method for cleaning a cat litter box?
Also, I had a perimenopausal relapse of ADHD recently. I would look at a dirty area and just be overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do, now multiply that by a 2 BR apartment. It was a strange experience. I don’t think I’m ever going to catch up again. How would you recommend getting back in control after a period of completely giving up? It happens to many people. I just had a week long virus and the laundry got backed up.
I would also like to know this, it would be so helpful!! I always feel overwhelmed and it's not just a case of the size of your living space, but the "where or how do I even start" (for me anyway).
I had this happen. I just started doing one thing at a time. Each area, little every day. I feel like I'm finally getting on top of thi gs but you are going to have set backs, don't beat yourself up. Say to yourself the night before what your goal is for the next day. Don't make it to much.

I know I disagree on some(if not most topics) when it impacts on the environment. Previously I used a product eco-store creme cleaner on my stainless steel But after following you and reaching what baking soda does. Tried it. It is as good if not better. The only downside is making sure all residue is raised off. Can leave a grainy feeling. Still working on the science or chemicals behind cleaning.
My husband has been using Barkeepers Friend for many yrs. He uses it on his very expensive pot and pans, then in the sink.

Here’s what i do every day: spray dawn powerwash, take a scrub daddy, scrub, and voila! Clean in less than a minute

Same! I use a Dish Daddy for routine dishes, then just have a quick go at the sink when I'm done.

I wish I could remember the correct video, but I love the squirt of dish soap in hot water. I have a mastiff great Dane mix, which equals a large 150 pound drooly dog. Dish soap and hot water works without scrubbing. I damp mop everyday wipe walls, ceiling and appliances.

I would a video on maintaining a clean oven. Is there a goldilocks method between a detailed, in-depth, deep clean and easy-peasy quick wipe that leaves residue that will be difficult to clean later?
I don't have an easy answer for deep cleaning, but I have gotten in the habit of using Dawn Power Wash (the foaming one) for spot cleaning in between the deep cleans

How do you keep your baking soda from clumping up? I'd love to use it more often for cleaning but more often than not, I get pebbles of baking soda come out and I can't really evenly coat anything.

Your rubber gloves are such a pretty color! but the shop on your website only has black? Or were you wearing a different brand in the video? I always used Playtex Living Gloves, but now (a) they're hard to find in stores and (b) they only come in dark colors and I've had issues with the dye coming off onto my white dishes (had to use bleach to get it off - yuk!). I'm sad that this best-in-class product seems to have gone away. I still have a couple unused pairs, but it's time to start looking for alternatives - something in a pale color so no chance of dye getting on anything. I've appreciated your videos for years, Melissa - so consistent and reliable! Wishing you & yours happy holidays and a joyful 2024!

Thank you for this video. I have a specific cleaning problem which I cannot seem to find an answer to. I live in Mexico and the water is hard and calcified which leaves white residue buildup in the shower and bathtub. Here’s the problem. The walls of the shower are tiled and the bathtub is made of floor tiles. Don’t ask 😮. I squidgy but cannot remove the white residue buildup. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
I use Barkeeper's Friend to clean almost everything. While it might not be as inexpensive as baking soda, it's pretty inexpensive.
You do this daily? I would love to see your daily, weekly, bi weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.

I’m a big fussbudget about my sink. We used to have very hard water, so I was always drying it off. Now, I still do that.
I bought your tiny scrub brush and it’s come in very handy. I use Barkeepers Friend once in a while to do a heavy duty clean. The sink never looks beautiful because the guy who owned my house before me put a cheap stainless steel sink in. I’ll replace it someday. I pour boiling water down the drain about once a week and I don’t have any smells. It’s just me here, so it’s much easier to keep clean.

Do you have anything about cleaning your dishwasher?
I've seen videos about putting a cup of vinegar in a glass measuring cup, place it on the top rack of your dishwasher and run a cycle. The vinegar mixed with the water cleans and deodorizes well. You don't need to add any dishwasher detergent, just the vinegar. Hope that helps.

Thank you.....but do you mean never to use vinegar with sodium bicarbonate in cleaning ? Or just in few cases?
The reaction of the 2 mixing essentially creates nothing more than bubbles - which could possibly be handy in this case, but not when trying to actually "clean" something :)
If you haven’t made one yet, I’d love to see a front load washing machine cleaning tutorial. I can’t ever get all of the mildewy spots off of the gasket 🤢
If you wipe up the water in the gaskets "channel" after use and leave the door wide open over night for the inside to dry, you won't have this problem anymore. Also run one cycle at 90/95°C at least once a month in order to prohibit midew and bacteria growing inside your machine. I just wash my cleaning rags or bed linnen at 95°C once a week and never had a problem with a smelly or mouldy machine in my whole life. I live in Germany, so I've owned frontloading HE machines since I moved out in 1983. 😁

I don't know what it us but sink traps teally gross me out. When i have had to lift them and empty the food it is more than i can handle. I have had a garbage disposal for awhile now so luckily just rely on that now.
