- Light carries God's imprint and darkness symbolizes the absence of God. Can anyone think of a building that does not let in the light, how about your local windowless Masonic Temple.

I just found out my great grandfather was a mason, and had terrible tragedies in his life. Subsequently, so did his sons, and grandsons, and great grandchildren. I am the first in our family to become Catholic, and pray for his soul and all the souls of my ancestors. I wonder if he became a mason due to the desire to join businesses that encouraged men becoming masons?

Almighty God, Creator of heaven&earth, creator of The Word that is written, please forgive me and my family. I need your light to luminate the darkness that had halls had ahold of me since before my first breath. I have an overwhelming desire to please you, and to live by Your Word, and as Ive drawn closer to you I now see what displeases you and I thoroughly beg for forgiveness. I’ve messed up so bad for all of my life and I now know that Your Word is the only way that I can have peace in this life and then everlasting life with you. I am so unworthy of your love, please walk with me and gently guide me to be a Child of God who pleases her creator. I love you Jesus, thank you for what you did for all of us.

I am glad that Father Ignatius has spoken up about this issue. I personally think it is spiritually dangerous for the faithful to enter such places, unless you have some kind of advanced training in recognizing demonic symbols and subtle influences. So unless you are like Father Malachi Martin, you could be putting you soul in danger of spiritual attack.

The thumbnail for this video shows a Masonic greeting. The hand to the forehead is a sign that says "I'm a mason". The response is one hand on the elbow the other on your ear. I guess this is a coincidence as the priest is crossing himself, but it makes me wonder if it was planned kind of like clickbait or was it chosen by TH-cam?

Whatever the case, I will always believe in God, and his son, Jesus. I will always have faith that when in dire spiritual need, I can call upon Jesus, and be saved from spiritual distress. I also believe in the power of prayer. Even to the saints. St. Anthony has helped me many times, and those I've prayed for who have lost precious items, like their Grandmother's Bible.

What is the purpose of building windowless buildings, except to hide what goes on within?
A dungeon has no windows, therefore no light. A windowless building is not good for one's health...it will make you sick.

I've been to the Masonic Temple in London (the Vatican equivalent of the dark side). A beautiful building but no windows in the temple.

There are Knights of Columbus who are freemasons. One just has to visit a parking lot, even the church parking lot, to see a sticker of the masonic symbol on vehicles. Most likely they are of of a lower degree and therefore they view it as a social club of sorts. The laxity of the church in many areas has led to this.
Knights of Columbus were created in the early 1900's by Father Mcgivney to stop Catholics from joining Freemasons.
Do black prince hall Masons learn the same thing(The Craft) at the 33rd degree that the regular freemasons learn at the 33rd degree? Or do they get taught a different version of "The Craft"?

He created light as an act of His positive will but allows darkness to exist (as a result of a free will to reject Him) as an act of His passive will.
Darkness is good for human sleep, but not for Vitamin D. The Freemasons supposedly have the pentagram, that says it all. Yet, supposedly most Freemasons have no idea of Freemasonry being sinister, just the upper echelon.
I would continue on from my previous but due to the need to wait for approval I can't. Next you say that the shutting out of light (already on shaky ground with that assertion) symbolises a shutting out of love and truth, well that would be surprising as two of the principles of masonry are brotherly love for all mankind and truth, the third is relief. The only darkness in masonry is to symbolise ignorance, and the whole point is to chase it away through faith, learning and moral improvement.

While I respect your faith sir I have to point out several errors in reasoning, firstly lodges are not constructed to block out light, indeed most lodges I attend have windows, in several cases some quite beautiful stained glass. In places where someone would be able to look into a lodge we draw curtains, but that's to maintain privacy not to shut out light. I would also hasten to point out the Freemasonry has symbolic lights, in the shape of the volume of the sacred law (the Bible in my case).

I am a Catholic mine Grandmother was Methodist and a free mason. I don't believe free masonry is wrong because is really good and helps the community.

@@Terencemadinah wrong, there is no sin too big for God to forgive. Masons can indeed by converted, it is possible to be freed from the Masonic oaths, through the Catholic Church.

The Church of course :) John Wayne obviously realised that darkness was an affront to the dignity of the human soul, hopefully all Freemasons may be granted the grace that he was granted in his final hours.
