I've always been the friend who everyone run to when they need something/someone, but when I realized nobody was there when I needed something, I started cutting everyone off. That's not friendship. Friendship is supposed to be reciprocal. I may be more alone now, but it's better than being alone with people around you.

This song reminds me of my ex best friend. No, scratch that. She was like a sister to me.
She was the first friend I made when I moved to the US, I met her on my first day of school. Everything was great, she had bad times and I always gave her a little bit of me because I care about her.
And fast forward, a year into the friendship, I was getting depressed more and more. I was losing myself to my own demons. I always opened up to her about it but I guess she got tired of of hearing my problems so she always bring the attention back to her.
It happened a lot so I told her how it makes it feel when she disregarded my feelings. She kept on doing it.
So I decided that "I'm not your friend". I distanced myself and she noticed that. We had a big fight she was telling me how I could cut her off and couldn't understand why I was "always depressed", she told me to go see a doctor and that I should "stop thinking" about my problems. I explain the things from my pov but she couldn't understand.
She talked about how I could never find a friend like her. And that pissed me off so I just ended up not replying. Although I miss her a lot to this day, but I'm glad I'm not your fucking friend anymore :))

We were so caught up and selfish for always placing ourselves before them. It doesn’t mean that i have the problem so u should listen to me bc i have all the problems in the world which is wrong. Maybe your friend was also experiencing something and you’re too caught up with your own problems to notice it. They might just need the time off and not bear any more problems bc they already have enough of their own which is also what u should do. ❤️

I feel this is definitely what my boyfriend felt when he broke up with me. I chose to accept it, even though it was hard. We had no contact whatsoever for 3 months. No texts, no social media, unfollowed everywhere. Then out of nowhere, I received a text from him. We kept on talking for another 3 months. And after 6 months post breakup, we got back together 😂 I just have 2 points here: 1. A clean cut is what really helps you move on, and it will lead to two situations: either you really move on or officially get back together. Staying in contact will not help you move on, nor will it help you get back together. You may get back together, but it most probably won't last. Time apart is key.
2. Breakups that occur out of anger may not really be a true break up. The angry one will eventually cool down after a period time not being provoked by the other, and can think more rationally. If he or she really loves you, they may realise it was a mistake to break up. And come back. But it's a 50 50 chance.

I have this one "friend" who talks to me only when she's sitting next to me in a lesson, then she legit just ignores me. She talks to whoever she's sitting with at the moment and then just yeets. I guess it's time I just cut her off.
Edit: The problem isn't that we aren't best friends always, ain't nothing wrong with that, the problem is when I'd just greet her by saying "hi" she'd belatedly ignore me. Not to mention her talking badly about other people's traits (like someone's laugh, etc.) without them knowing.

But when sitting next to me she'll chat non stop. No serious arguments between us, I was never rude or clingy.

I've been with this girl for 8 months. It was a long-distance relationship, but in the last 3 months of our time together, i went to meet her two times and stay with her for as long as possible (respectively 2 and 3 days per trip). I loved her at the point i got obsessed, and would look at my phone literally every single minute to see if i got a message, although she never knew this part, only that i cared for her more than anything else. Every time she was feeling down I was there to help her, even with her depression problems. She was everything for me. I had always been dreaming of us eventually living together and setting up family. But one day, it all went down like a meteor falling from space: she was feeling down again, i asked why, as i always did, but this time she told me "i don't have to tell you f*king everything" and that hit me really hard. Like a lot. The next day she sent me one big as hell message telling me that she wanted to break up but that it wasn't my fault and how hard it had been for her to tell that to me etc.. I was destroyed. I spent nights crying in my bed, hoping that we could get back together, but having no success after all. She never told me why she decided to do this, just that "it's not your fault, nor the distance".
It was hard for me the first few days because i kept having her in my mind and remembering the time we spent together, so i tried to stay as much as possible with my friends to help me forget everything and move on, which actually did help. Not even fifteen days into the break up I've discovered she found another boyfriend. So i guess it wasn't really that "hard" for her to literally tell me to piss off. I used to talk to my crush as a friend. And we were pretty good friends. But I knew that I was never going to be with him and I was the only one who felt pain while we were talking. And I've decided to tell him that I like him and not to talk to me anymore because I didn't want to be a fcking friend.
And tbh.... it was the best decision of my life. Now I'm happy, I can think clearly and I don't feel the same about him anymore. So it wasn't even love that I was being so upset over. I'm so proud of myself for being brave and saving my own mental health.

I had a friend who I appreciated very much, I went on a trip last year and when I returned she was very rude to me, til one day I realized that she'd unfollowed me on Instagram, then she started to ignore me in school. It had me really sad for a long time, because she ghosted me in a way that I think I didn't deserve:( I thought of all the things that I might did wrong but in the end I saw that it wasn't my fault, and that she said and did really mean things to me while we were friends. I decided that I wouldn't feel bad about it because she shouldn't have the power to make me feel sad, and that I deserve to be treated with the same kindness and respect that I give. I met new friends and I feel so happy being with them now! Yesterday she sent me a follow request and I didn't accept it, because it really isn't good for me to have that kind of people around me.
It's really nice being able to identify people that aren't good for us and taking care of our good energies and mental health! ❤
