I got a puppy during lockdown and we've just finished 4 classes at puppy school! It was so wonderful for socialising him and learning how to train him positively. Highly recommend you try something like that if it's something that's also done in the UK. Was such a good bonding experience and just really helpful to understand how your dog thinks/communicates. Positive reinforcement has been a total game changer in training him. Enjoy the new furbaby! xx

For your puppy: don’t buy Royal Canin, Pedigree or the other big names. It’s rubbish food. When buying kibble stay away from anything with cereal. For amazing quality food check out Acana and Akela. They’re the best out there. Also I highly, highly, highly recommend to check out Unique Pets. It’s a small independent pet store in Winslow, they also do online shopping and delivery. Unfortunately due to COVID they had to shit their other store in Aylesbury (we used to go there).
Second this! Lily's Kitchen has been recently acquired by Purina and so many people have said that since then their doggos have had tummy issues. I'm getting my little puppy soon and was so keen on getting him good food. I found Edgar & Cooper, we'll see if he likes it!

Just seeing how excited you are to get him, soon wherever you are in the house, he’ll be there too, you will want him wherever you are, that’s just how it is when you get a pet, it becomes part of the family, you worry about them when you go out, you can’t wait to get home. You can see how emotional it gets from seeing Ali and Lydia with Lumi. You and Alex will be great parents to this puppy.
Two things that are the most important things when you get a puppy and which you haven’t already covered - tooth brush and doggy toothpaste. Get him used to have his teeth cleaned from the outset - it will save you a fortune in vet bills and keep him in good health. Get decent insurance for him. If he’s a pedigree he may be more vulnerable. We have always had miniature dachshunds and our current gorgeous girl has had IVDD and her spinal surgery, physio and vet bills came to over £8,000. Thank goodness we had her insured. We all buy loads to start with and then only use a fraction of it. Most of all remember he’s a dog. Don’t insult him by treating him like a child. Train him well, keep him busy and his mind stimulated and he will be your best friend for life.
My biggest tip is to handle the dog a lot and take them in the car loads. We did this from the start and our little Winston is so so friendly and loves to be cuddled! He also is so good when travelling ❤️

The idea of the blanket on the couch is great not just to keep the house clean, but also because he will learn not to get on the couch unless the blanket is on there. That's what we have done with our dogs, and it has saved our cream leather! 🤗

I’m so excited for you! With your jewelry line release and your new puppy. My puppy is 5 months old now and the best advice I can give is to make sure there’s lots of toys in every room in the house that way he chews on the toys and not the furniture, it’s working for us.
You should look for dog advent calendar as well as cute dog sweaters. Also get a little backpack that keeps your to go dog stuff. Make sure you also get a spray for there coat that keeps away ticks fleas and mosquitoes if you have them in the uk. I suggest sleeping with its blanket so when it sleeps by itself it wont have separation anxiety as much.

My daughter just passed her Masters so I will be purchasing something for her as there is no graduation ceremony this year for her. Hiya! So happy for you guys :) We have just got a pup to join our other cockapoo and the first thing I would say, is never just let a puppy cry in it's crate all night. After a lot of research it's proven to be extremely distressing, especially for a newborn baby, which is exactly what they are! The best thing to do is have them sleep in their crate in your bedroom to start with, so they have the comfort of you being close / your smells, then as they settle and get used to that, gradually move the crate further away from the bedroom. It has worked perfectly with our new pup and he now sleeps soundly. Make sure to get a blanket with mum's / sibling smell on it to bring home, and also put in the crate a t-shirt or something that you've worn so they get used to your smells and after a while that will be super comforting for them. Good Luck! :)

We’ve recently got a puppy and he LOVES little bits of boiled carrot as a treat and it’s really healthy for them! Would also recommend not buying too many toys as ours loves only furry ones so we brought too many that he just won’t play with! You’ll have to see what yours prefers :) so excited for you!!!!!

I love your living room. My fur babies love their snuggle beds. They really work calming and making them feel secure. Plus I wash their beds in the washing machine with unscented Nellies Laundry soda ( love this product) and dry their beds in the dryer to make them super soft. I use unscented dryer balls. That thing totally saved me when I got my Lily 5 years ago. She was having the toughest time sleeping alone in her crate because she had sisters where she came from. And once we got that lamb in there (another tip -- sometimes playing light music in the room where they sleep helps too for some background noise so it's not so quiet for them), she was just fine! Can't wait for you to get him!

A really good thing to look into is feeding your puppy raw food! Companies like Tucker’s and Stella and Chewy’s sell them. Both mix raw meat with veggies and other vitamins for super healthy dog food. Makes the, super super healthy and avoids hot spots/ other health issues that can come from dry dog food. Work looking into!

Our pup was sensitive to everything when we picked him up. Eden pet foods was the only thing he liked that we had no issues with and we still buy it three years down the line! Such great quality food, his coat is so shiny because of it!

Big no to Royal Canin!! Try to transition him away from it pretty quickly. I'd also highly recommend pet insurance for him. Hopefully, you'll never need it, but it's good to have! Good luck!!! Puppies are the best xx Also! once he's chipped, get him a tag that has his name and "I'm chipped" on the other side, that's very helpful!!

A really good thing to look into is feeding your puppy raw food! Companies like Tucker’s and Stella and Chewy’s sell them. Both mix raw meat with veggies and other vitamins for super healthy dog food. Makes the, super super healthy and avoids hot spots/ other health issues that can come from dry dog food. Work looking into!
