Zixu's story is very touching !! He sacrifice himself to help the one he loves, though he had never received the love back. "Unconditional love" is the most proper terms for his story. DL acting is superb, his facial expression and gesture are flawless. Fox is a special animal which will have only one lover for a life time.

Deng Lun`s vocal talents are wonderful...his duet at the end of Investiture of the gods episodes is great. Investiture of the gods lasted way too long and the storyline was scattered and weak but Deng Lun played his character flawlessly and I cheered for the Fox Demon - the highlight of this otherwise dull 65 episode series. I had hoped Zixu (Fox Demon) would live happily-ever-after (even with the unattractive Concubine Daji) at the show`s end but the writers of this poor script even took that ending away from the audience. I give Deng Lun`s performance a 10 and the rest of the series get a 4.
I do agree with you that ZiXu totally steals the show. Ep 52 is the most touching one. His innocent fox family helps Daji but they end up got killed by the minister Bigan. Though ZiXu was in extreme devastating pain, he still manage to care a lot for Daji..asking if she's OK, reincarnating the dead flower, and comfort her that it's not her fault. This unconditional love is so deeply moved and DL delivers a superb performance ! To me I think it's not entirely the writer's fault. The reason we wanna see ZiXu live with Daji happily is because we are so deeply moved and impressed with ZiXu. The investors and directors had picked the first male lead and the story was definitely written for the first male lead. However, DL's performance as ZiXu outstands other characters in the show. That's why we wanna see him happy at the end.

He also sings the OST for "Blossom In Heart" beautifully with a female singer and it is so incredibly that I get tears and chills.
