In this god-and-demon fantasy drama, 22-year-old Deng Lun played the role of Zixu, a male fox demon, who’s also the king of all fox demons. Zixu has to live off of human souls for energy. While making a deal with Daji for her soul, he unexpectedly falls in love with her and would sacrifice himself to help her get her revenge.

Zixu's story is very touching !! He sacrifice himself to help the one he loves, though he had never received the love back. "Unconditional love" is the most proper terms for his story. DL acting is superb, his facial expression and gesture are flawless. Fox is a special animal which will have only one lover for a life time.

Deng Lun`s vocal talents are wonderful...his duet at the end of Investiture of the gods episodes is great. Investiture of the gods lasted way too long and the storyline was scattered and weak but Deng Lun played his character flawlessly and I cheered for the Fox Demon - the highlight of this otherwise dull 65 episode series. I had hoped Zixu (Fox Demon) would live happily-ever-after (even with the unattractive Concubine Daji) at the show`s end but the writers of this poor script even took that ending away from the audience. I give Deng Lun`s performance a 10 and the rest of the series get a 4.
He also sings the OST for "Blossom In Heart" beautifully with a female singer and it is so incredibly that I get tears and chills.
I do agree with you that ZiXu totally steals the show. Ep 52 is the most touching one. His innocent fox family helps Daji but they end up got killed by the minister Bigan. Though ZiXu was in extreme devastating pain, he still manage to care a lot for Daji..asking if she's OK, reincarnating the dead flower, and comfort her that it's not her fault. This unconditional love is so deeply moved and DL delivers a superb performance ! To me I think it's not entirely the writer's fault. The reason we wanna see ZiXu live with Daji happily is because we are so deeply moved and impressed with ZiXu. The investors and directors had picked the first male lead and the story was definitely written for the first male lead. However, DL's performance as ZiXu outstands other characters in the show. That's why we wanna see him happy at the end.

Pronto agora já assisti está série magnífica, amo demais ver filmes com Deng Lon, ator maravilhoso, não me canso de vê-lo atualizar ele consegue ser diferente em cada filme. Comecei vendo Ashe Of Love, e vi outro como Quinze anos de Aves Migratória, doces sonhos, Menina Valente, assisti um filme em que está em um hospital lutando do feito que pode contra epidemia, um em que e um ator rebelde porém vai parar com a família Fu e lá se transforma. Ainda tem mais não vi todos, creio que vou me apaixonar tanto quanto me apaixonei ao assistir , Ashes Of Love. O olhar apaixonada do rei Yi para Garota Santa e depois fênix até quando estava com raiva de Jin Mi demostrava amor nos olhos. 😊 Excelente. Amei demais.
