It's best sometimes to keep your radio than have the issues you are having with the other radio. Things not working is not a good thing. I would not change the radio. Most places don't take returns on electronic parts. FYI.
Xtrons website also advertises that their PEP12RVT_L is for the Toyota Rav4 2016. I also can't replace the top silver trim panel. Did you have any luck with the Xtrons customer support regarding returns or replacement? Thus far I've had no response to my emails?

That is not for different car. You RAV4 just have the base model. My 2015 Rav4 XLE center vents has can be open and close.

You have to set up the steering wheel buttons
check my video i have reset steering wheel buttons. and it will start working you just need to reset.

Great video but you have to calibrate the stereo with your steering wheel through settings.
