My best guess is a two part answer. 1. They keep the 10875/10877 in the work line to keep the moc toe tradition alive, since it is what brought their name to the construction business. The model #899 was in the work line until it was discontinued in like 2016/2017 and it was very much heritage too. 2. They have those boots in the work line as Electrical Hazard certified to meet the requirement for unions, who give their workers an annual allowance for boots. Some guy might not want to pay 300$ for them, but if their union gives them 100-150$ it might not be such a hard sell at half off and red wing will still most likely make profit from the sale. But again, I don't know 🤔
I like those.the color is different. Rose anvil says nicks moc toe boots are the best made moc toe in the world. No matter what you get they are all top notch craftsman like your self. Happy new year
I have the 10877's and they take me everywhere. I'm not actually a fan of the black eyelets but I didn't know the difference between the 877's and 10877's at the time I bought them. I am going to get them resoled with the vibram montagnes eventually and get all silver or brass hardware.

Bought the same pair last summer and the patina is fantastic after wearing them an entire season. Just an opinion here, Aaron: if you buy a pair of Nick's, they are beyond bulletproof. So, get ready for a couple months of break-in.
It’s the leather they say it’s the same but if you talk to red wing representative they will tell you that it is. In my opinion I bought those boots back in 2015 and I did not like them they were really hard to break in and I used them for work and with time the leather really harden up and got really dry and dark. I also never got them resolved because red wing told me the boots were not in good shape to get a resole. So I was pretty disappointed in those boots. But I hope you will have better luck than I did. I have 9 pairs of Mocs,the leather gets dry and stiff when people buy them and never condition them ,I wear all my boots on Sunday when I’m not working, as a cobbler I’ve seen boots in very poor condition over the years and usually can’t do much to them, but again that’s when people use them to work every day and never ever conditioned them. the big advantage of the 10875 for me since i have small but wide feet is that they come in various widths in sizes smaller than 7. I’m a 6.5 E which is only available in D width. the price difference is small but comfort is important. yes you can widen a D to an E with your cobbler but this comes at an E and EE just in case the E won’t cut it.

Nice boots! I think in essence there isn’t a single difference in terms of construction from the 875. It’s just color (leather and eyelets) as well as the logo. They probably use it in the work line to just have a moc toe model thrown into it. Maybe it’s supposed to be a gateway to get people into the heritage line. It’s a great boot choice for anyone trying to get into RW. The color is attractive, and they (should) have the same 30 day return policy as other work boots instead of the horrible heritage boot return policy. Also, they offer them in more sizes since they are part of the work line! They’re offered in A, D, E, and EE widths whereas the heritage models are only offered in D and EE.

Yo creo que ninguna es mejor que otra, sino más bien para que los vas a ocupar y lo más importante, el gusto personal de cada persona, posiblemente sea una respuesta tonta, pero lo que para unos es bueno o más mejor, para otros no lo es. I cannot recommend JK boots. I tried their Black Friday Sale on two boots and a gift. They just sent me two pairs of boots that were the wrong size and width, which were part of their Black Friday sale. The real non-starter is the eyelets and hooks, which are unevenly spaced. Sloppy construction, IMHO?

Hello. Someone please explain. Why do shoe makers stress and advertise the leather whelt on some high-quality shoes IF this whelt is easily removed and replaced anyway in a video like this ? What am I missing here? I have shoes with a plastic whelt. If I go to this cobbler he will swap it out for a leather whelt anyway. Thanks.

the 10875 are eh rated unlike the 875. also I think the leather is more orange colored with the 875 and more brownish with the 10875.
