Captain Crush has protect and detect on his mega sceptile? How is he rank 5000? This team CANNOT be his actually team.
I have a feeling that he wanted Russo to win tbh. Why would he BURN gengar....
Welp, if captain crush want to play hard, he will first burn the opponent then spam protect and detect i guess
thats NOT how pokemon works. No point of burning the opponent when the pokemon is sp attacker. You would rather use toxic or thunder wave on gengar. And why waste a turn for a burn on a fragile pokemon? Most attackers can 1 shot gengar unless it has focus sash. Also, having a detect and protect makes no difference. Captain Crush's gameplay was so weak and his team doesn't synergise with each other. Therefore I believe that he wanted Russo to win.

I actually battled Captain_Crush at some point but he used a different team and almost all of my Pokémon had types that were strong against him so I pretty much destroyed him. It's just that Muk was extremely annoying but luckily I had haze. I had an unique team and it was enough to give me the win. He only knocked 2 of my Pokémon which isn't that bad.

Guys, Crush is obviously not using his regular team.
1. He wouldn't but protect and detect on the same pokemon, tho using both was very bad play.
2. His pokes probably aren't really ev trained, if they were cinccino would've outsped gengar.

My tactic is using my porygon first then when he is about to die I use sunny day and then when he faints I send out mega sceptile and use solar beam and with sunny day it takes 1 turn and when sunny day runs out then I use it again on my mega sceptile
