Love this ministry. I have been thinking about my desire to understand the Bible in it's whole context. And I love how you break it down telling us where the geographical locations are and more, because it makes reading the Old Testament more mentally comprehendible. I have been able to follow along and actually be able to pull up maps and see for myself what you are talking about. And as someone who didn't like history in school, this is profound for me because it is opening my mind in ways I never thought possible. So sincerely thanks for your ministry. It is changing lives, and making God's Holy Word more understandable to the masses.

Thanks Pastor Skip. Your words remind me of what A.W. Tozer said in one of his sermons. He said that the supreme sin of the human race is that there is “a pervading Presence and we don’t sense it - a calling Voice and we don’t hear it - a shining Light and we don’t see it.” He said that the greatest tragedy in human history is embodied in verse John 1:11 - “He came unto His own but His own did not receive Him.” We can only imagine what the world would be like if everybody received Him.

I can’t picture God but I could picture around him like a bright shining light brighter than anything we’ve ever seen, but never do I picture him just around him if that makes sense

Me too - I thought it was only the profane use with the “damn” - but Pastor Skip explained it’s using God’s name in a “frivolous, empty, or lighthearted manner” that takes away from His holiness. I pray for Holy Spirit to make me aware of this and put a bridle on my mouth!

Does having toys for children count as carved images? How does this apply to us today?

As long as they are toys and you are not using them to bow down to or worship then they are fine. Yes you ca have a toy Moses/Noah etc.

With a lot of humour the pastor does it.

What do you picture when you pray/think of God? I always just picture blinding light. The Bible says He is light, so that's what I picture. Just white light.

I absolutely agree Erin. I picture God as a pure blinding light also. May God bless you

Me too - I think when Jesus said he who sees me sees the Father and then when Jesus was transfigured on the mountain with blinding light. Moses saw God’s back from the cleft in the rock as He passed and he described it as blinding light.
