    TECH REQUEST: please include US English closed captioning, please. Google's voice dection software is maturing quite well. Sometimes accents can be difficult to understand, even in english. Thank you and keep up the great reporting, and for reaching out to the english-speaking audience!

    It's sickening that the west would label healthy cooperation and development between two countries as colonialism. China is a country that is plagued by problems and naturally they want to grow their middle class through economic growth. Africa benefits even more from this. As long as the Chinese respects their laws, we should leave them alone and focus on our own country.

    Hilarious that Americans would accuse others of colonialism and exploiting Africa, such hypocrisy. Hilary is just worried that the Chinese will make the deals Americans have been offering look bad. This was a good little series, too bad they didnt go in to the role of the IMF though, the biggest cause of Africa's poverty.

    Why are you so concerned about things that are happening thousands of miles away from your house?

    I don't understand the logic of "maltreating workers and devouring its natural resources". What are you going to sell if you are a developing nation? iPod? Spaceship? What others can you sell beyond hard labors and natural resources?

    would be interesting to look into the growing dominance of Indian in Africa too.
    But I was slightly skeptical if the stubborn censored chinese people could actually volunteer to come on screen without hesitation. guess this was the first ever time they had a chance to interact with foreign media which is documenting on bilateral realtions

    China's population and biz competition is harsh, the common so called new "middle class" chinese are just looking outwards to create opportunities for a better living, this is acceptable, who wouldn't? The problem is with the huge companies subsidized by the chinese government that will exploit ppl and resources regardless... same ol story with major corporations...

    Chinese Imperialism is somewhat like USA Imperialism, only they put a country in debt through infrastructure/construction projects rather than money loans.
    1. They remove or reject Pan-African/independent-minded leaders
    2. They appoint a leader who dislikes/hates traditional tribal cultures/people and is willing to use force to evict them from resource-rich lands
    3. As the country is already in massive debt through construction projects, Chinese oil & mining companies are then able to buy the evicted/vacated lands & resources at a very cheap price.
    4. The vast majority of the resources are now controlled by China. Chinese companies then take most of these resources back to China and use the rest to mass-produce & sell products for their own selfish profit in the country, putting many indigenous companies out of work. (This was the reason for the 2006 Tonga Island riots)
    One of the most despicable Chinese puppet leaders of all time is Julius Chan of Papua New Guinea. A man of half black, half Chinese descent, he decided to commit genocide on what he called 'dumb ugly tribal savages' on Bougainville island who would not give up their land to Chinese oil & mining companies, which are just as environmentally destructive as western ones. China has hardly done any projects involving environment-friendly electric cars/planes.

    This attitude is hilarious. If you want aid, then get on your knees and beg white countries for some pennies that they can share. That is when they you get moniez without working. If you want INVESTMENT, don't expect people to treat you nice when you get lazy. People didn't risk their own moniez so YOU can squander it by having bad attitude or because you are lazy. It is a business, not a charity. This is what the Chinese are portraying and while you are condemning them for it, this is actually capitalism as it should be. This is the only way to make moniez. Don't you ever think it is not.

    love the african accent at 14:30 LOL Congrats Zambians And Chinese. This shows there's a difference in the goals of economic/political/financial classes not races. The finance class wants to cheat and plunder, while the working class wants to build relationships, infrastructure, and economy. Why is Hillary talking out of the side of her mouth? Maybe she should do domestically what she accuses others of internationally.

  • @GuaNCui
    @GuaNCui 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    individual rights? that is the major difference between west and china, sacrificing or so called "abuse" few people's rights and interests to benefit many people's rights and interests to develop entire country. that is how china is developing so fast.

    if anyone is concerned about human rights, tell your concern to europeans (not americans). we (china) only care about how to make poor people rich, improve the quality of life, develop poor countries and maintain world peace. china is based on agriculture, so as long as there is peace and development in the world, china will grow stronger. it meets china's interests. however, don't use human rights or that kind of crap and try to stop any countries development. african countries GDPs are 10+%.
