Man, was kinda hoping the catch up packs also extend to wild expansions. I have most standard cards but my wild collection is pretty lacking
Same, but if we can save on standard expansions, maybe we can manage to expand our wild collection as well.
We'll see. But think about it... you don t have to use more dust and packs for standard so you can save for wild
I've spent over 3 years of grind and thousand bucks to get huge wild collection. If they do it without a reasonable price, I'll quit immediately

Hope they give us a lot of catch up packs. Tired of playing same 2 decks for 5 months now
At this point I’ve given up on some classes entirely. Just no way to have a good collection for all of them.
@@ab_c4429 honestly same. I only got the core cards for 9 out of the 11 classes. And the 2 classes i like are still far from full
what are you doing that you manage to have only 2 decks in 5 months? i spend dust wherever i want, play max 3 times a week, dont spend a penny and have way more then 2 decks
@@barty6368 i have a self made wild warrior which keeps getting changed and a blood dk for standard since it was the cheapest.
One class for the entire last expansion.... I play only paladin, so i my decks were very expensive. But i think that new expansion will destroy pure paladin, so i am very excited for the new packs. i am F2P by the way
really hope they make catch up packs for wild and especially twist which could really use catch up packs since you're gonna need a lot of cards for different sets almost every season

Honestly, in the past few months they have been doing pretty good stuff with hearthstone. Twist has great potential, it just needs a bit more focus, and wild catchup-packs could help solve the issue of most players not having the old cards. Caverns of time was a great mini-set, hopefully they do more wild/twist sets like it. And anomalies while being annoying and random, were still an idea worth exploring in some form in the future, to shake up stale late expansion cycle metas. The problem was mainly that it came with the miniset itself, and not like a month after.
But why does someone like me thats been playing since day one, and I've bought a few thing, and I get nothing
I really hope its a bug because I'm so mad that I get nothing after supporting this f game for years
I never miss doing my quests, so I'm sure I'll only be getting 5 cards per catch-up pack. But even still, it's some bonus free stuff for me, and a wonderful idea to help newer and returning players feel less overwhelmed and behind! They should have done this years ago. But regardless of that, I think it's just absolutely fantastic, and it gives me more hope for the future of this game (which I needed, because the insane power-creep has been crushing my hopefulness this last year). 🧡💛
I almost have all the cards and eaven than i m happy. At the wrost these pack give free dust and free dust means free cards.
Catsup packs. Asmon said McDonalds already puts those in takeaway bags, when he gets food from them.

Based on my numbers in my Collection, if you got all Commons/Rares and not many Epics/Legendaries beyond a few crafted, that's ~55 Collection %, which probably means 5 cards from that expansion per pack. That's not too bad. Good to have 'em. Also glad to hear there's a Gold bundle, I will probably want to buy more, get that Legendary value.
Tip for anyone considering playing for the first time or returning, might want to wait until the actual release on the 14th when those are supposed to be added to the new/returning player experience, I don't believe you'll get those if you jump in now. But if you do jump in now and plan to play a bit, you can collect a decent amount instead from the current Rewards Track, but if you're not gonna play a decent bit I would wait.
Depends on what you're talking about. If you mean total across the whole collection, I haven't done the math on it. But, I did crunch the numbers on a few recent expansions. All Commons and Rares with NO Epics or Legendaries accounts for 73.95% (2 copies of each) or 67.65% (1 copy of each) of the expansion cards. Now, the calculations are different, to be fair. The two copies calc is: 2 copies of every card in the set except Legs at 1 per set (totals at 311 cards for Nathria and Sunken City). The 1 copy calc is: 1 copy of every card in the set (totals at 170 for Nathria and Sunken City).
@@fragniz I'm just going off of the Collection Achievement %s, was assuming the packs would go off the same metric.
Could be interesting if they can manage to get some limited time offer or seasonal dust exchanges for legendaries. making it easier for people to swap out legendaries from Standard and make meta relevant decks.

The catch up packs does seem like a nice addition. I wonder if the 50 cards per pack have the same pull rates as multiple packs.

I wonder if these packs will give those wich we lack, or just a random card. Lets say I miss only legendaries from the expansions. Do I get a lot of legendaries? Altough its sounds fun even if I don't get any
I hope they make a version of these for twist; This could go a long way for twist.
As somebody who took a huge break when I got engaged between 2017 and 2020, I really hope they do this for wild packs because that's the only reason I'm not playing Twist or Wild right now is I just don't have the cards. But I do have all of the cards from ashes of outlands and up.
I really appreciate the positivity, I'm not in the same boat, about 75-80% completed on the standard expansions, gonna only get 5 cards/pack. They're worse than regular packs because they're not golden, but at least they're free and you could get legendaries by opening 50 packs. That's loads tho. My category of players is probably getting hit the most. It is what it is:)
At least there's a little value for everyone, the 50 packs will still be about 1 in 10 packs containing a Legendary, that's pretty good, if the Gold/cash can be gotten for it.
I still don't understand how they're free, except the ones in the Quests at Expansion launch

Question: When the next set rotation comes out are we going to get full refunds for extra cards or do we need to disenchant beforehand in order to get maximum dust?
Answer: Neither
I think blizzard abandoned Twist because caverns of time didnt sell well enough, one of the reasons being that most players could not justify investing in it when they dont have the wild cards, maybe catch up packs could fix this, but most likely blizzard will not try this.
Abandoned Twist? They just had the new rotation with a huge update on many Un'goro cards.

@@CountFab And that's probably all they will do, add some expansions or remove some, maybe a new rule if they feel generous, the mode has some serious flaws, (and none of them is being boring just search what people think, a lot of TH-camrs have done pools by now) and they will probably do nothing to fix them, because the mode in its current state it's not profitable, and they are not willing to fix that. At least for me, if you see that a mode has problems, and no one is playing because of them, and then you choose to do nothing, you have abandoned the mode.
Can you use catch up packs to cheaply fill up your collection on other region servers?

And if you mass open 20 pack but you up to 75% card collection after the first 5 pack what's happen ? you got 50 card by pack or 5 after the first 5 ?
That's a good question. I wasn't planning to mass open what I get, but now I will do it just in case.

My biggest qualm with catch up packs is most of them come from buying bundles.
But if you're buying bundles, you already can fill out your collection pretty decently. While F2P players are the ones who have the smallest collections and will get very few catch up packs.
I feel that. I want to get at least enough for all the bonus Legendaries, would be willing to spend some Gold over time for that, but the wording here sounds like there's going to be 1 Gold bundle, if it's not repeatable then I'll run out before I reach that goal, maybe that's part of the point, but I do like to secure things and not hope for luck.

Zeddy how in the hell did you get more Catch Up packs than me? I also ordered both of the pre-orders mega and regular, and I only got 30 catch ups, you also ordered both of the pre-orders and have every card in the game basically in triplicate, regular, golden, signature or diamond if they make them in that and you somehow got 33?
I think a lot of older players will wait for a bit to see how it pans out. In theory sounds like a great idea but looking at it from a returning player perspective who hasn't played in a while, the RNG that is part of packs means you could get 350 cards and still end up without a playable competitive deck lol. The 5 guaranteed leggos you get could be absolute trash, and then you are stuck with a feeling of frustration that you still can't play even with all these new cards.
But then if you improve it to ensure that returning players are guaranteed to get better drop rates of high value cards in these packs, it becomes unfair to those who do whale out or those that just spend hundreds of dollars each year for the pre-order bundles. Why spend if you are going to have a good chance of getting the better cards for free - bad from a business sense for Blizzard and bad from a fairness test for players. Hard balance to strike but it might end up baiting a few players back who might spend a bit to round out the free packs in the hope of getting playable decks. Then they will strike the bots and the 2 deck meta and remember why they left in the first place 🤣
I just started playing again after years and blizzard gifted me 75 standard packs and 75 titans packs for free and let me choose a battle ready deck i took the paladin one amd they gifted me the big beast hunter for free so much value!

Catch-up packs seem like great value. Just don't wait to open them on the last day of the season.

Question here, how is the 75% calculated? If it's total cards we can easily hit 75% with like only 30 packs opened. If it's 75% dust of all cards that's a lot harder to exceed.
It's blizzard, you just know which it is
It's total cards.
It also counts any cards you've crafted too.

The question is … what is the best strategy when you order the mega bundle? Should you open the catchup first or the expansion packs first ?
The catch up packs do not contain new expansion cards
Catch-up packs > Standard Packs > Expansion packs.

7 free total packs! I’m assuming even with most of the collection aside from epics and legendaries, that’s still like 2 legendaries that I can either keep or scrap for other cards I want. Definitely a good play regardless on Blizzard’s part
At 'minimum value' of 75% collection or more, it's still 1 Legendary every 10 packs or less until the bonus is gotten, so you'll presumably have ~70% chance of getting a Legendary with that.
Lol, I’m so torn if I should get the mega bundle… $80 is just so expensive for a game I’m just starting to get into. I think I’d rather put the $80 toward a gaming pc/baldur’s gate 3.
I consistently get the marvel snap battlepasses…I feel like $10 a month is a lot more reasonable than $80 every 3 months.

Silly anyone who thinks this move is made out of any kind of sympathy. This was a calculated and surgical move to potentially get more people into the player base to spend more money. If Blizzard thought they would lose any amount of money, they would not have done this.
