I wish fans would stop being so nasty in saying this is not a cover song. It's a cover of BC Jean's original, just like Beyonce's version was a cover, but hers just happened to become a big hit. Hopefully, Angelina's will become a hit, as well, since I like it more the Beyonce's version.

Nice reaction! On the piano is the co-writer of the song, Toby Gad. Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce. Oh, I forgot to say there are 2 versions of this song....the Piano Diaries version (the one you are listening) and the Artist version, which has more instrumentation and sounds more made for commercial radio. "If I Were a Boy" is a song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad and originally performed by Jean in 2008.[1] The song gained international attention the same year in a version by the American singer Beyoncé, from her third studio album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008). Jean and Gad also handled its production alongside Beyoncé. Ummm. Cover? Ummm .. I suppose ... but I like interpretation better. The original song was co-written, sung by BC Jean and piano played by ... THE PIANIST Toby Gad .. in this video. Therefore it had been sung by one of the co-writers first .. so Beyoncé's version was a cover if someone wanted to be strict I suppose. Just saying .. Beyoncé and Angelina are the same one step distance from the co-composer. Another point .. "This Version" ... Angelina sang this song in the states and since went with him to England for an event and sang it there and then this music video. Angelina and Toby are working on songs together. Sooooo ... "This version" of the song was without a doubt a co-lab between. Wow .. that blows my mind a bit.
