Ive been waiting years for you to work on this project again mark. Its quite an undertaking and makes me feel like my projects aren't nearly as difficult!
Mark, thank you for posting all of these videos so frequently. I always look forward to new content from you, including more on the Berkley! It is yet another facinating vehicle and you are facinating to watch putting these quirky automobiles back on the road. I'm loving the follow-ups on this project, and I still think the differntial is an amazing device. I'm so glad to see it back together and in operation, with an explaination on the chain tensioner and adjustable spedometer outlet. I say, "Keep them coming!"
Hey Mark, love the channel. Love what you're doing on here and I'm definitely not getting tired of the the Barkley one suggestion for an engine is to use. Maybe a Harley-Davidson V-Twin or some other V-Twin based off the Harley-Davidson? Or maybe a V-Twin from like say one of the cruiser bikes from say Suzuki Yamaha Honda or the V-Twin? Or if you're thinking something may be a little cheaper. Maybe a little easier to come by. Might look at the v twins from let's say Briggs& Stratton or Kohler or the V-Twin engine that is being sold right now in the harbor freight stores

I bet you could put a complete 2cv (or GS is you want to go way too fast for that thing) powertrain in there if you wanted to, probably have to shorten the half shafts, could maybe keep the inboard disk brakes.
That Berkeley differential is sheer genius Mark! Nice job! I agree with the 2 stroke snowmobile engine idea! The Norton engine would be much better but where to find?
@ 1:01 Fun fact: in 1972 DePatie-Freleng [ Pink Panther Fame ] Had a cartoon on NBC called *The Barkleys* about a Family [ Dogs ] and borrowed heavily from All in the Family / The Honeymooners.
I think a twin cylinder motorcycle engine would fit well. Lightweight, compact, available in air or water-cooled, and already set up as chain final drive.
I love Barkley updates! I know you have teased us with the motor. I want to see a motor cycle engine in this! It would be the first time I have seen that, and I am barely younger than you Mark.
I really liked the idea of doing a zero swap with one of these cars. A zero is an electric motorcycle that a few people have swapped the components out of and into some small cars.
Oh, I know ! I've been down this path. Zero's customer service is zero. Zero parts are incredibly difficult to obtain. They only want to sell new bikes. So I made a different choice

Not getting tired to the Berkeley. I get excited each time I see it in the thumbnail.
Maybe the powerplant ought to be a Triumph or a Norton? In keeping with the theme...
Yes, another vote for a Triumph 3 cyl.
Plenty of 2 stroke snowmobile engines to choose from. Right size, right power, true to the original type of power.
😁

Excellent, I'm glad you're enjoying the Berkeley series!
Not tired of it, didn't forget it, just waiting to find out what motor you're putting in it.
😉

...a cut here...a weld there. and viola! thats viper V10 slides right in.....
😆
I'm definitely not tired of this car. It's such a cute little thing.

I am working on a 61 Sears Allstate Compact similar to yours.

That is such a cool car...

When the car will be ready, it will be a "Markley".😄
😁 bahahaha!
I believe in cheap and locally available even on Sunday.
Fit a Harley motor, millions available.

@@2stroketurbo ah that really sucks. I was hoping to swap a trabant some day.
You pronounce the car name Barkley, but I think it's spelled Berkley.
That is correct! I got it right according to my english viewers.
Since you will be using chain & sprocket, you can install a..............................1340cc Suzuki Hayabusa engine ! 😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe a BMW boxer motorcycle engine?
I hope it’s a 2 stroke engine…
Is it going to rotary maybe?
Ls swap it
