The CGI looks good compared to most japanese live action adaptations, but two things they got wrong were the character design and proportions.
The shadows are actually way larger and bulkier(wider) in the anime, which gave them a more imposing look, here they're just skinny.
Also, they sometimes get on the same height as their humans, while that's totally wrong, they're much, much taller.
It takes away the illusion of power, and that feeling of gigantism from them.

Actually, in the manga the "shadows" are skinny, most of them even look like simple skeletons covered with bandages

I myself unfortunately never had the pleasure of watching this movie but I saw the anime on Netflix and it was awesome.
Yes I definitely prefer Sato being old like in the anime although it raises a few questions.
If an Ajin like Sato can grow old and don't get young again after dying,....... well then what happens to an Ajin who dies from old age?
Also might make you wonder what else their self-reanimation factor cannot fix.
On a rather unrelated note, why don't the Ajins poop themselves every time they die?

@@zombiedemon1762 you raise an excellent question. It could be due to the fact that they no longer instinctively fear death… so they don’t go through the same process as us. Or their bodies just don’t do it as they are basically “reset” due to the black mist. But they can die of old age due to normal complications that come with old age. Guess the body can’t reset at that point.

Yes I guess that could be how it is.
I was thinking that death by old age would cause them to stay unconscious as they die and reset every second for the rest of all eternity.
Or they might never COMPLETELY reset but remain stuck in the process of resetting as their cells die faster than their invisible black matter can rebuild them.

@@dan-tan6542 . Hmmm also the fact their so-called black ghosts are invisible to anyone who is not an Ajin raises some scientific questions.
As we know, if something is invisible it's because all visible light goes through it rather than bounce off back into the eyes.
This is even explained inside the anime so it still applies here.
Are the eyes of an Ajin built to see more of the electromagnetic spectrum or does something else allow an Ajin to see their black "ghosts"?

@@zombiedemon1762 it could be more of a psychic link; as shown by one character, can’t remember the name, he was able to remote pilot the ghost and even look through its own vision. So whatever it is itself capable of sight. So the black mass could potentially redirect light in itself without disrupting it… somehow. The ghost have been shown to have a will of there own besides just attack and defend as the MC’s actually resists his commands and dislike certain people as an apparent result of him not using it for such a long time. (From first manifestation as an Ajin.)

Movie cgi is good but there is one bad things we didn't see kai in the movie and sato is not old man

They should make movies with very similar characters, Sato in a well-preserved old man is not a young man and they started badly there.

the problem that the combat, you really hard to find an actor that look as old as Sato and can still pull move like F___king John Wick so this is good enough
