- At the time this video was taken, I had not been back to visit my family for Christmas for ten years due to various reasons. My plane ticket home was purchased months in advance and the entire family was asked to keep it hush hush so my mom wouldn’t find out. This video is an accumulation of months of work to surprise my mom for Christmas by flying across the country without her knowing.
Also, I was in that box for 4 long minutes.
*And for clarification, I haven't been home for Christmas in ten years, but I have been home other times of the year within that time-frame. This is mainly due to the cost of airfare that ranges from $1300 to $1500 around Christmas time.*

I was going to ask why didn't someone hold the baby so she can open the gift? Maybe she wanted to, just that nobody wanted to help hold the baby for one second, too busy with their cell to take photos.
I'm so glad you guys got to be together! (So- don't be annoyed when I say, to anyone watching really- please be careful with such surprises because the toll they can take can be too much, honestly not meaning to be critical.)

Sadly this does happen more than you think. Their daughter is sort of a disappointment, can't do stuff right, mom makes up all kinds of excuses not to stop by etc, but the baby that daughter brings into the world?
Spoiled like sh*t, grandmom says nothing negative to the granddaughter and grandmoms headaches suddenly disappear.
If the daughter has issues,mostly rooted back to childhood in any form, some mom's distance themselves the way they always have.
Give them a baby and mom--> grandmom instantly changes. And not for a while, but for the whole time the grandkids grows up. Mom is still treated like crap but grandkid is perfect.

I was expecting a puppy, but awwwwwww, this was so much sweeter than a puppy! The mother's reaction brought tears to my eyes. If one of my mom's children had been in the box for my mom she would have told everyone that re-gifting something she already "owned" was a sad excuse for a gift...we're very sarcastic in my family. LOVED the video!!

Prob a male German shepherd because they get bigger than females. I've seen male German shepherd get as big as a St Bernard..it just depends. They are VERY smart, VERY alert and protective dogs.

So who was that in the box? Was it her daughter? And who did the baby belong to? I need to know more. Also, the mother was genuinely frightened when the daughter (if that's who she is) popped out. Not in a good way either. And something tells me that she's really not that glad to see her and that their relationship is strained. Just a feeling I get while watching the mother.

That was nice but I was worried. First, I thought the person in the box was going to pop up and yell surprise while the lady was holding the baby, sending it flying. Then i thought she was going to pop up and slice her face open on the scissors. Or imagine handing her scissors and she punches down with them to slice across, stabbing the person inside through the head. Whoever set this up wasn't thinking. Luckily, it turned out OK.
