Living Underwater for 24 hours!

Come stay at the world's only underwater hotel accessible only by scuba diving! This is Jules Undersea Lodge in Key Largo Florida and I'll stay 23 feet underwater here for 24 hours in order to receive my Aquanaught certification. Would you stay here?!

This was a great episode. I've always wanted to spend night there and have often wondered if there was any actual marine life in the lagoon.
Growing up in the 60's futurists predicted that we would have underwater cities of course they knew nothing about the physiology of living under pressure 😮 oh how I wanted to live in one of those sci-fi inspired structures as a kid

Super cool video! How does decompression work? Can you go straight back to the surface from an extended stay in the lodge?

For 24 hours there is no decompression but you shouldn't fly for 24 hours. For the 100 days they're just kinda guessing because nobody has ever done it before but planning on breathing oxygen slowly to the surface

How does living in that lodge for 100 days differ from submarine crews on missions of similar length?

Submarine crew ain't affected by the water pressure. Inside the submarine the pressure is equal to the atmosphere level so they can surface without DECO.
On the other hand Sat Divers like they are doing in this video they are affected by the water pressure so depending on the depth and how long they stay they MUST do DECO. If i'm not mistaken it's around 1 or 2 day of DECO + 1 Extra day of DECO per 100 feet (30m) of Depths (At least for comercial Divers in their 30 days of Sat).

We're only at 23 feet so for 24 hours there is no deco. 100 days they actually have no clue what the deco procedure should be because nobody has done it but they're planning on breathing oxygen while slowly surfacing and that's it.
