I like how normally when you have a guest on a show, they try to match the energy of the show a little bit, or at least meet in the middle, but Therapy Gecko is basically throwing a wrench in every bit they attempt and it's really funny.

I notice that a lot of people really didn't like this video, but I really liked this video since it shakes up the usual high energy and plays into a point that the hivemind crew don't normally play into, which is complete deadpan/low energy comedy.

I believe Carter's response is a genuine question. I interpret "for poop lol" as purely rhetorical. Carter doesn't genuinely believe that Travis is craving poop, but he uses it to emphasize that he could be hungry for anything. Just as an elementary school math teacher would criticize a student for forgetting units in their work stating something like "21 what? Guns?" Clearly the teacher doesn't believe that the student is referring to guns if the question is asking about something else, but they use this hyperbolic example to emphasize the necessity for units, or in the case of Carter, he is using exaggerative rhetoric to emphasize the depth of his curiosity to Travis's craving, as well as to keep a tone of comedy. This also serves as a shield for Carter against those who may poke fun at his curiosity. The element of comedy also acts in a similar way as how many authors and writers use bathos in their work. If they're shown to be the first one to laugh, it lets the audience know that they aren't too sincere about the topic allowing for plausible deniability when belittled by a critical audience.

10/10 hivemind episode and im not kidding. almost every time a guest on the show sort of has to conform to the typical high-energy hivemind humor but lyle stands his ground and transforms the show into a less ironic, honest version of itself. it feels like an entirely different side of riley and graydon we get to see. i need the gec back on the show
Chemistry was just off here, just felt like a clash of styles more than a collab, therapy gecko is pretty limited/rigid, wouldve been better suited for riley and graydon to just do a sit down interview with him on his show
