my husband is cheyenne and i looked into many things that make him who he is! he never doubted family! anyone that has done good to him , but there is this rage that i cant understand a rage against life or people idk
Hotemitinio. Much love to Lame deer, and our Sutiah brothers and sisters. I'm only a quarter. Mom is half. Dad is Aleut and Inuit. But it sucks that I can't Sun dance with the Sutiah. In the old days I would have been able to. I live traditional Cheyenne manners of life but am judged. I'm a dog soldier. Why can't I pray with my people the way sweet medicine taught us. None of us are full bloods anymore. None of us. Ispiva Mahio
Hey Benji, I am glad you added this! I have to keep this for my children and make sure they learn these songs. Do you have the other songs as well. Would be way awesome if you add them. Then this cool mom can make sure they have them for ever and can sing them from any where in the big wide world!!!! Big hugs to you and the family!!!
well it really wasn't us tryn to compete with them. We had went over the song before we actually sang it. My grandfather charles told my and my uncle not to sing with them but sing the way we do so we did. You see my grandfather is always telling us to sing strong. He tels us the louder you sing the the more are elders and loved ones can feel it no matter were they are in the world. I understand your point as well. Just to let you know but hay i geuss you cant please everyone. LOL jks
Im lakota. My great grandfather was sahinyela. Is the song for the ppl or is it like the lakota flag, which isn't ours, for the usa and ira govts? Ohan. Just wondering.
I do highly respect the Northern Cheyennes for defending their country in Western Kansas when the U.P. railroad came through...But there was a family who were following the Butterfield trail. That morning they were attacked by the Cheyennes. The father mother and 2 of their children were killed and took 2 of them hostage...At the end, the girls were saved by the Calvary...I guess I don't blame the Indians for what they did..'cause their tribe was attacked first.
Sounds good, great job, but the younger men need to not compete in their voices, they should follow the old men singing. The older dudes sound smooth! Next time sing all three. Great video tho.
That lead! Killer song.....thank you for posting 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
It’s heartbreaking to know what our ancestors went though
