I was there and it was a first exposure to Glass for most of us. I think it must have been like to hear Mozart for the first time. A whole new musical language and landscape opening up.
This video is by far one of the best I have ever seen. It seems something mystical to me, I imagine as if the synthesizer were a thinking machine trying to deal with its own existence beyond what its purpose is. As if he only realized that he is alone and destined for nothing more than to fulfill the purpose for which he was created.
When I listen to this, I imagine space. Whether it be 100 years into the future or 500 possibly even more. We would attempt to colonize other planets. Some attempts are successful. Some are not and that’s what I see when I hear this. A planet once the center of colonization is now abandoned, only a quarter of it was colonized but nonetheless there are a couple of cities devoid of any human presence, ghost towns, abandoned power plants and farms. All of this lost because of an oversight and I prefer not to imagine what caused for the planet to be abandoned.
1 segment. 3 tone 5 times 2 segment 2 tone 3. tone 1 pich lower 4 times 3 segment 3 tone on pick from 3. tone segment 2, 3 tone stretched 5 seconds. (note for myself, i hope ill be able to remember what it means)
i dont understand music at all. but i get sometimes ideas about melodies i like and i try as good as i can to translate them to words in order to remember them later. its not crypric or anything klike that. just me not getting music theory at all. or notes for that matter. notes would make a whole stuff a lot more easy
I am the tumbling burning rocket-chunk
I am the walrus
I am the fire, doomed to fade away.
What a wonderful trip this film was when we saw it for the first time, 1983. Life altering moment.
Yes you are right my friend !!!

This is the best cover, too bad it is not complete
Need the full version (with the koyaanisqatsi part) Please good sir. T_T
Have you considered doing Pruit Igoe?
The set up looks like the GECK from fallout
;)
Omg, that's actually spot on
You know the song is good when people are waxing poetic in the comments
Is this the Hopi language being sung? Beautiful work
Many thanks my friend. Yes! It is the original text. :)

How/where did you get the vocal samples? Great work!!
Thanks my friend. Vocal samples were recorded by the singer Missone for that version :) Missone and I often work together.
Was just a matter of time I suppose.

Lot of cords flying around here, looks like a clown's intestines spilled onto an 80s NASA control terminal.
Excellent cover though, please do more Philip Glass.
Voices are too loud for the instrument, other than that its a cool remix
