Disney Branded Television Executive, Meredith Roberts has teased a brand new Gravity Falls revival in an interview with The Direct, revealing that Disney is currently in talks with series creator Alex Hirsch about creating a new animated Gravity Falls project following the Book of Bill Cipher! Would this be the long awaited Gravity Falls season 3, a movie or something else entirely? Let's talk about it!

Hirsch once mentioned that he keeps certain things close to his chest in case he wants to use them in the future.
It happened with Bill's backstory that will now be a book, and he mentioned wanting to explore Stan and Ford's sea adventures. If we get a continuation (which I doubt) I think it'll be that.
I limited series along the lines of distant lands could work. Maybe 4-5 half hour long episodes of the Stan bros exploring the world

Bill Cipher comes back and the Gravity Falls gang get Ford to open the portal again and recruit people from other dimensions to stop Bill and they go to the boiling isles and then at the end of the Amphibia book the girl who helped them get back to Amphibia called Anne and said she had good news and that news is she found a portal in Gravity Falls. Anne, Sasha and Marcy then all go back to Amphibia where Bill is Wierdmaggedoning the place because Maddie made a deal with him to increase her magical powers. Amphibia characters fight back and are joined by the Owl House and Gravity Falls characters through the new portal door from the end of The Owl House. They all team up to fight Bill and Dipper, Mabel, Soos, the Stans and Wendy are weilding all the classic gadgets from Gravity Falls like the Size-Changing Torch and the Blind Eye Ray etc.

The owl house wasn’t bad at all, it was just a little woke, the two are not necessarily synonymous, and it can be a hard balance to strike between letting creatives do what they want and keeping them on a leash so that they don’t be too gay.

Honestly my opinion is that it wrapped up in a satisfying way, and it didn’t overstay its welcome. I love the show, but I’m perfectly happy with how it ended.
Maybe it'll be a reboot, with more creatove freedom such as having lgbtq relationships and more horror, maybe even a disney plus retelling in pg-13 to accompany the book of bill, it will also allow the show to have its finale get a longer runtime and have all the goodbyes to the characters.

I feel like another thing that would encourage Disney to make more Gravity falls would be the dumpster fire that came out of canceling The Owl House. With them realizing that, shocked Pikachu face, TOH was extremely popular and a huge money maker. With Gravity Falls also being a soft horror series, it's the perfect alternative to admitting they were wrong about TOH
The "Bill's return" Crossover with Amphibia and The Owl House in a grown up setting has so much potential. I would love to have a movie or movie series for that. The setting: Bill is somehow returning and breaking the borders between worlds and all the Heros of Amphibia and Owl House have to gather to save their world.
It would be perfect to not destroy existing storys but give them more depth. Serve the fandom and maybe open up a whole new universe for disney to produce content for.

I miss the times of the good disney cartoons!!! Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House were all so good! A dream would come true if just one series comes back, I think they could have done more, even with the newer ones. Especially because they did TOH so dirty😢❤

It ended perfectly, but you can still go in directions with Gravity Falls. Follow Ford and Stanley’s adventures, Dipper and Mabel’s second summer in town, not something big like Bill, but still some fun monster of the week with and overarching mystery. Maybe with Bill defeated, weirdness is spreading out of town?

There are only 2 things that I know Alex is interested in making that is Gravity Falls related. In a recent interview he said that when they were making the Lost Legends book, he thought up a small series of Stan and Ford sea adventures that could become a book series, and in an interview a few years back he said that he was interested in creating a full blown Gravity Falls video game but be more involved in it then the first one (Legends of the Gnome Gemulets). I don't want a season 3 or a movie, in my opinion there's nothing left to do without taking a few steps back. But I would actually love to see these 2 things come out!
This show WAS MY CHILDHOOD! I loved it. From the funny jokes and terrifying ghosts, this show didn't stop to think to not do something crazy and I love that, one episode it could be the twins breaking into a store another episode it could be fighting every horror possible. And I loved it. I would sell everything I had to get another season of gravity falls.

it would be sick as hell to see the twins in the future, both sets! there’s so many fan comics that have the younger pines twins or their kids visit Gravity Falls 10 or so years in the future, so a sequel series in 2026 would be accurate too. oh how i’d kill to see Wendy at 27 with a scuffed pine tree hat and Dipper at 23 with Wendy’s hat on his head
I think it would be awesome if we could get a like 10 years later where that come back to gravity falls after there grunkles have passed and discover a whole new story

Gravity falls in the future/alternate universe or maybe even like… the weirdness bubble gets bigger or smaller ones start popping up elsewhere and Dipper and Mable have to help Ford and Stan take care of things. Maybe make it a little Supernatural/Scooby Doo esque where they have to travel to places and solve monster/fairy tale type problems.
And perhaps mable and dipper could also be a content creators with a joint channel as well as their own. Dippers more science minded and serious content and Mable doing random tutorials and doing popular dances with minotaurs or the like. I’m sure something like that could be nice. I can see it in my head. Mable is my favorite. Her and Wendy are cool ladies.
As for how the rest of the characters would be? No idea. I imagine maybe Wendy goes to Portland or Seattle for college. Robbie has his band. Maybe they take off a little. Stan and Ford as usual. Soos? Probably still working at the Mystery Shack. Pacifica? Probably does like GRWM content/ clothing hauls and stuff got to do with making yourself pretty. Bet she’s still petty and rude at times but less so bc she is matured.
Also I think it would be cool to open like this: one of the twins is sleeping and dreaming about the old times. Their first summer in Gravity Falls. And then wakes up to an alarm in bed or maybe they were in class at school and they’re older. It may not be everyones choice but I liked this idea. Maybe maple was snoozing at her desk bc she worked so hard helping old folks over the weekend to do macaroni crafts. And her teacher slaps his desk a little to shock her awake and she wakes up panicked like “I didnt give the Minotaurs any super glue I swear!! It wasnt- oh. Whoops sorry. Didnt mean to snooze there. Who knew Macaroni crafts could be so tiring?!”

I think jumping to the next summer would be a valid strategy too but only if things in the town have dramatically changed in the year that they've been gone. A much shorter time jump could also work, where for various reasons the twins maybe couldn't make it back for two or three summers. Afterall, they are still kids and their parents might have other plans to send them to camp or take them on vacation or something. So, it's maybe been a while before they can go back and a lot has changed. Or if they want to get weird from jump, maybe nothing has changed and everyone is the same age as when they left. Which, incidentally would eliminate the inappropriate age gap between Dipper and Wendy and give him the shot he's always wanted to become her ex boyfriend.
with gravity falls, it can be like every 2 seasons, its a new summer, adn they get notisably older on say the 5th season, like quite notisably, and it can also be stan and ford, (cant forget aboutwendy and soos) visit them at there house, and have a tour and something strange happenes, and idk, dipper saves the school and mabel helps with her grapple hook, doesnt allways have to be exactly in graverty falls, one thing that i would love, is for them to colaborate with the SCP Foundation, stupid yes, but would be funny and satifying
I think the perfect idea for a Gravity Falls spin off show would be about possibly Stan and Ford or possibly some other characters like maybe Dipper and Mabel going on adventures across the rest of the world to observe other anomalies and how those things would affect the larger multiverse of Gravity Falls as a whole.
A movie about Ford in the portal would be nuts, journal 3 was crazy to imagine what it could be like realized into animation

Maybe it reboots into an edgier retelling with all the deleted episodes and scenes, lgbtq relationships, and a longer length finale to give all the planned goodbyes. It would also lay the groundwork for a future owl house reboot years down the line so it can have a full season 3 and end on the note that it was planned to.
Nothing really ends. It ended perfectly for the story it told. Could still tell a different story in the same town.

I loved Gravity Falls a ton but I don’t how the story will continue. Yes. There are some questions that I have left unsolved like if Stan wasn’t fully wiped out, what about Bill? But I always left that to interpretation. A reboot would be nice but I’m not sure how they would continue the series

You know I can almost picture it! It shows the Pines twins sitting around as they move house and they're going through some old boxes and Mable pulls out the grappling hook and it goes a little something like;
(shuffling noises) (Mable gasps) Hey Dipper~
(Dipper sighs) Oh no...Mable what sort of mischief have you discovered in that box?
(Mable smirks and whips out the hook and shoots it into the ceiling) GRAPPLING HOO-! (She falls to the ground before she can finish the line as her age and weight can no longer be held up by the hook)
They laugh and start to reminisce about their adventures showing flash backs with ach item. But something is off, the memories aren't right, and the more the reminiece the worse it gets. Dipper starts to suspect this but Mable throws around her goofy quirky chaotic nature and they get distracted as they chase eachother through the house. You hear the parents call the kids for lunch but its faded and glitchy sounding as the camera zooms in on a box in the middle of the room it's dipper's box, and you hear this loud aweful humming drone that gets louder and louder the closer the camera gets. And then you hear a voice but it get cut short, cut to black and a few seconds pass followed by the infamous Bill Cipher psychotic laughter we all knew and loved! Cue theme song and new and/or remixed series intro and the voice of Alex Hirchse or whoever else giving us whatever cipher clue we would need just like old times! But when the community solves it the code says "We'll Meet Again". Cue internet freakout and scene!
It may or may not wind up like this, it would be hype as hell if it did. But If all we get is some minisodes that work similar to SU Future then that'll be a nice simple show to just binge watch at night or something. But I do genuinely hope we get a big series similar to what Fiona & Cake are doing!

If they did a sequel, they could have the twins be 17, so that way it would be a coming of age story focusing on them becoming adults since the last show was about them becoming teenagers. That way, they could make the show for an older audience since their audience has all aged since the final episode aired. If they don't do this, they could do a prequel that focuses on Ford's dimension adventures or even go as far as to make some of the book about Bill Cipher animated, which would need to be R-Rated given the dark content that will probably be within. There are so many possibilities, and I hope that it manages to live up to the legacy Gravity Falls created.
can you imagine the next show starts off with adult mable cleaning then finding her old scrapbook from that summer and then calling everyone on like a facetime or just calling dipper and then they get in a bus and drive off to gravity falls thats how i imagine the next show might start

I would actually love to see a 3D animated Mature rated Steven Universe reboot, which I would really love to see get made in the 2030s.
I wish the epilogue series would not be a 5 year jump but a 10 year jump where Dipper and Mabel are turning 23 and graduating from college and now having to face the struggles of being "unemployed" and actually experiencing "adulting" first hand.
I freaking miss gravity Falls. I really do hope that the new one that if it is coming out could live up to Its Own Way, Falls but if it doesn’t, I hope it’s just enjoyable to watch.
I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t watch the show bc I would. With the same ppl behind the show I would be so excited for it. Especially if they made it more mature for adult audiences since it got away with a lot of stuff for Disney.
Even though this would be amazing, I am hesitant to get behind this idea. I'm worried that Alex may be talked into continuing a story that had a solid ending already. It might be better to leave the fans wanting more, then retreating back to how wanting that more felt.

This is how I would like a new gravity falls show to start.
I would like to see the adventures of Dipper and Mebel as adults or teenagers and secret anomaly agents that come bak to check gravity falls.
In this sequel, Bill Cipher would return as the main antagonist because at the end of the second season of Gravity Falls, Bill is erased from Stan's memory, but Stan immediately regains his memories so I cannot believe that Bill died for good. It would also be interesting to see some sea adventures of Stanley and Stanford where Stanford would realise that bill was still alive then he would contact dipper and mejbel who would be about 19 years old secret agents and that would be a start of a new show. I would really love to see a continuation like this 🗿🍷

I am a simple man with simple hopes and dreams. If there is going to be a Gravity Falls reboot, I want it to take place at least 3-5 years were the original left off (or even further). Remember that scene with mr. Northwest? You know the one. I want the reboot to be at least thrice as gruesome. And if they manage to make a crossover with The Owl House or Amphibia, that would be great.
If they make more, it should be a series where bill is stripped of his power, given physical, 3d form, and sent to live with the pines family who then has to babysit him over the summer (There’s a fan made comic dub about this but it’s also the best option for a return to gravity falls series). The first season could be them dealing with bills antics, pranks, and schemes, with a new bad guy showing up (I petition either another, fully powerful bill from another universe, or anti-Mabel who obtained power somehow, or maybe if the axolotl had an evil child or something) at the end of the first season. The pines family now has to deal with bill and the bad guy, with bill teaming up with the new bad guy. Bill, as he lives with the pines family for longer and longer, starts to feel a bit bad about betraying them, and starts to have doubts. When the bad guy finally has what they need, they will betray bill and try to kill him. But the pines family, who has started to get used to bill, had followed him and now saved him. Bill realizes that his true friends were the pines family all along, and he works with them to destroy the new bad guy. After this, the axolotl finally returns bill to his former glory and concludes his therapy, deeming it no longer necessary.
That way it doesn’t get old. More stuff happens and everyone’s favorite triangle can be redeemed.
You could call it, Return to Gravity Falls, where it's still themed around Mabel and Dipper, but as teens.

I think there will be a 3rd season of Gravity Falls, but it won't be called that. It will have a new name: Sea Grunks, and will be about the Stans twins. This will be a sequel to Gravity Falls.

Growing up watching gravity falls to me was the best show ive ever watched even to this day its holds a important part in my heart but if they were to make them older and bump up the tv rating not just me but many others who grew up with this and new comers would see how great it really was,and yes im very excited to see if they'll go through with it as a special or a movie I'd prefer a special with 2 or 3 parts cause that would be awesome, plus the numbers it would bring in would satisfy Disneys greed

I keep reading that Gravity Falls ended satisfactorily and I do think it was pretty good, but I also think the show fell short. Especially in the second season.
The first season was very good, but the second season is incredibly compressed.
From the moment Ford appears everything happens very quickly.
It feels like the season should have ended with Ford being rescued, then there should have been a season where we met Ford (Because the guy almost didn't show up and his role is really important) and a final season where Weirdmagedon happened (Because There were too many things happening there and we didn't get to see even half of them).
So I would love to have more of this series.
Since most of us are old now they should have a show with stan and ford with lots of mature jokes and then there should be a season 3 going through what happened to the twins until then but season 4 should be where they reunite
I’m sad to say after everything Disney has done, I have no faith in this revival. I still have faith in the creator and all the hard work the crew did on the show, but after everything Disney has done, I will have no faith in them, even if they officially make a sequel series. This is what happens when you keep making stupid decisions and don’t learn from your mistakes. Even someone who doesn’t care about politics and the behind-the-scenes drama of shows and companies can see how dumb Disney is and that they’re destroying themselves and their shows. It should’ve been good news that made me smile; it just made me feel disappointed and indifferent.
But maybe the series will prove me wrong, or perhaps the creator will make a good show despite working for Disney. All we can do is hope that the show would come out good if it does exist.
I feel like gravity falls is one of those shows that is begging for a Fiona and cake like continuation. It’s one of those few shows I could see having a continuation for an older audience and it actually fitting
I experienced gravity Falls when I came across it on Hulu and also hearing it from another TH-camr when I came across it on Hulu, I gave it a chance one weekend during my summer and I fell in love with the show and I was wondering if there will be another series Now that I’m hearing a potential new series I would like that and I definitely want an adult series for a different version of gravity Falls. I think it would be awesome, but also still continuation to some degree. I am hoping that a brand new gravity Falls series is on the way.
I liked the way it ended. I don't want a continuation of the story because it was great the way it was. Also, I wouldn't be able to show my family a new spin off or whatever if it had more mature themes. It would be disappointing if they added things I couldn't show my friends and recommend to the people I care about. The thing I am most worried about with spin offs or continuations is ruining the content I loved before in some way. It is way too easy to do that, and imma be honest... NO I DO NOT want to hear any of those characters to drop an F-bomb. I wouldn't be able to watch it if they did that or show my kids or family in the future. One of the things that made Gravity Falls different is because they didn't keep coming out with more but less quality content for the money. They made something quality for quality and enjoyment sake and they ended it perfectly. Let it be and stay the wonderful show it is.

I think there should be a quadruple crossover of Gravity Falls, Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Amphibia and The Owl House!
I'd a atually love if a new series included something to do with the Bill statue (talking about the literal one Alex hid out in the woods). I'd like that, even if only a passing joke to reference it lol
