Can we get more college football talk next fall? Just replace half the cowboys talk with college ball please. It would be a good bit with bru seemingly having ties with every single state too lol
Love that you guys did a segment on college football. Your takes were great. I’d much rather see the show talk a little bit more about college ball as opposed to 98% NFL and 2% NBA. Even though I’m a die-hard NFL fan, I like it when you guys switch it up a little bit.
I watched a full episode on TV when we were off for the holidays, they talk about a lot more that doesn’t make it onto TH-cam, I guess for what they think will get the most views.
@ The average point differential of this year’s college football playoff was 9 points my man.😂 I’m not tryna watch nine segments a week about the godawful Bears’ coaching vacancy. It gets redundant and boring.
And you still lost to Michigan 4 years straight. 5-5 team beat your butts😂😂😂. I'll give you guys some credit but stop acting like you didn't lose this year you weren't undefeated
It’s not that they asked Josh to do less. It’s just this is his first year where he actually has a run game instead of having Josh throw 40 passes every game. He was still over 70% of their offense and had 41 tds.
I’m a ravens fan and even I agree. That o-line is pretty darn good and Josh has done what was needed. He had a Lamar stat line in the divisional game and he won so that’s all that matters in the end. High completion percentage, no turnovers, no need to do extra stuff 🤷🏾♂️
I think it’s more of limiting him from playing hero ball since that’s when the rollercoaster at inconsistency starts. It’s happened last year when they went on the run to barely make the playoffs they took the ball outta his hands more
11:06 The ambiguity of how college football has been played allowed for more subjective opinions and who "deserves it" which goes against true competition.
If you're going to have a down year, you can't do much better than Michigan did to end it. They beat the national champion and, Alabama. They have something to build on.
Nick's absolutely right about the 16 point thing. Drives me nuts when commentators just say "2 score game" and don't even bother mentioning 2 point conversions.
why do my fellow chiefs fans seem to care about these things. odds to win SB, pro bowl snubs etc. those things aint important man we are trying to do the unthinkable here. that should be all that matters
In response to Nick: the reason they say two possessions down 16 is to make the game interesting. A lot of people get this wrong: Commentators aren't supposed to tell you what your eyes are already seeing. They're supposed to make the game interesting.
Nick is right about the teams who should have been in and didn’t get in in the past but would’ve thrived. 2015 Ohio State, last years Georgia. And other examples
If you love CFB, you HAVE to watch Joel Klatts last couple episodes, especially the Commissioner for a day episode. I love the ideas he brought up and he is very good with CFB. Very interesting episode he had on his own show.
I still wouldn't be surprised if Day gets fired next year if they lose to Michigan and still wins the National Championship. People REALLY CARE about these rivalries more than National Championships.
The decision to kick the field goal late in the 4th shows how scared ND was of the osu defense and how little faith they had in their qb to make a play… ND played scared most of the game and that’s why they lost
Honestly I like nicks idea. Letting teams pick their opponent is a double edge sword cause if you lose, you lose to the team YOU picked lol. I believe that would raise the steaks and make the games competitive
Please no two conferences this was the best format that didn’t look like the books were sec teams keep it the same please my team lost ,but every time Michigan play the buckeyes I’m backing blue ND will be back for sure
That is probably true, but it's what happens when there is a dominant football team that seems to get all the calls. It happened with the Patriots, too.
I might be the only person that loved the BCS. The only team that had a legitimate gripe against the system was the 2004 Auburn Tigers and they played like complete TRASH against Va Tech(?) in their bowl game. One of the best qualities of college football was know that one loss could end your season.
College Football being the NFL with worse players is Nick's best take. I have been saying this forever about paying them. They just become worse pros... snoooooooze.
I think Brou is mostly right about the evolution of College Football but I see it consolidating into 3-4 major conferences… unless someone successfully breaks up the ACC and separate the bball schools from the football schools or the Big 12 falls apart
So he was supposed to go for 4th and 9, then convert another 4th down essentially for 2, score another TD, score another 4th down situation for 2. They needed to come away with points on that drive. I get his thinking. The guy missed.
Well it’s kinda like saying an 8 point lead is a 2 score game in basketball. Sure you COULD get two 4 point plays, but the odds aren’t great. And he did say it’s 3 scores to win the game regardless.
@ the problem is you’re not gonna touch the ball 2 or 3 more times to have those chances to score.. he was acting like a 2 point conversion is very unlikely. When these guys have tricks up their sleeves for these plays. As we seen on the very next drive a perfectly executed play for the conversion. Earlier in the game, a shovel pass that worked perfectly for 2. I just think with that amount of time left, you have to go for it. I couldn’t believe when he sent that field goal unit out
4th and 9 ? He made the smart choice to kick the fg. If the kicker makes it nd can win with two scores instead of just tying it. Under 5 yrds I could see going for it but at 9 yrds your chances are the same as getting 3 straight two point conversions !
Do cfl playoffs similar to March madness since there’s so many teams. I’ve never heard anyone complain about the March madness tournament. Two quarter games until we get down to the final 4
The playoff needs to be 8 teams. This is college. Literally 3 teams at most per year have a legit chance to win it...this playoff proved that quite dramatically.
The problem is money, as usual. They need to include the lesser conferences to keep them financially viable. Otherwise, college football shrinks to two or three conferences and about 40 teams.
His last point is valid they still needed 3 scores to win regardless of going for it or not, and I don't think they'd want to do a multiple OT shootout with the superior team especially on offense. That said, college kickers have been very shaky it seems so perhaps that should've factored into the calculations more.
It's because the chiefs just don't look all that impressive. Their defense is very good, but the offense just looks off. It's been that way all year. It's crazy they really only lost 1 game.

Refs are the favorites
As an eagles fan is agree. They are two time defending champs these deserve to be the favorites

Good take Larry. I agree he’s not allowed to have a run game for some reason. Mahomes and Brady had run games when they won (at least to some degree)

The thing about the Chiefs this year is that they are the best special teams team that I have ever seen.
They’re excellent even without any return TDs.

There were 9 mins left against the most prolific offense in college football. You definitely go for it

Guess Josh Allen didn’t have a ref apologize to him and give him a head pat 2 weeks ago
Love the picking teams as a number 1 seed. Great rivals would start from feeling disrespected
Of course the refs should be SB favorites. They are there every year.
Agree with Brou for CFP. 64 teams. NFL style scheduling formula. No arguments.

With so many teams not even close to the same how do you create even close to equal schedules??
Is KC ever favorites through the playoffs? They're the favorite in off-season usually, but rarely DURING their dominance.
The issue with nicks take of having 2 losses is that in 2007 lsu won the natty with 2 losses and there was no playoff
