Thank you so much for sharing this jewel of a woman and artist! I just started last year because I saw Ribbon Candy Hooking on You Tube! What a therapeutic art it has been in my life and I can’t imagine moving forward without it!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤God bless you and her!❤
Hello there! Thank you for sharing. It is very important to share different crafts to encourage people to try them. We don't want these types of beautiful artwork to get lost to history. Judy is inspirational and adorable. thank you so much for your time and effort for this. Please keep up the great work. Warm regards, Stephanie from California
Dear Judy, I enjoyed your video very much, I’m 80, master quilter, in Ottawa , I crochet, and you amazed me , your work is breathtaking, I love the rug flowers 💐 🌸 🌺 on your wall, I’ve learned so much, today watching you , , my best girlfriend moved to Nova Scotia , wow ,do you dye with vegetables 🥦🥕 ,I sold my horse in 1962 and bought my wedding dress ,love your red horses , maybe some day I’ll get to meet you , congratulations, your beautiful and kind and patient like me , happy spring , good life to you, Lucille X
Judy, I have never rug hooked in my life, and I barely even heard about it before this video. This was an incredible and inspirational journey. I wish I lived close enough to learn from you!
What stunning workmanship! I'm in Northeast Ohio and have done just a bit of punch needle. I always wanted to learn about using wool and all the dyeing but the only person that could have taught me passed away when I was in my 20s. Now that I'm in my 70s, I work with paper crafts. I was exposed to hooking as a child because an aunt hooked rugs. She drew her own patterns and the family members saved woolen garments for her to use in her rugs. Thanks for sharing Judy's amazing talents!
I enjoyed your interview very much, Judy! You certainly have a great knowledge of your Rug hooking passion. I am a rug hooker as well and quite understand the calmness and relaxation it delivers. I'd love to see a video with you dying your wool! I'm sure lots of viewers would enjoy that as well. I thank you so much for sharing this video, taking the time to show us your beautiful rugs, and the stories that went with each! Great Cameraman too!
When you tube's algorithm not fail -> Great interview! Besides chrocheting, embroidery, stitching, knitting and quilting now I have a new kind of craft to explore. Thank you Judy and the guy with the nice voice! 👌🧶🪡🧵💛
Wonderful video! I remember my great aunt showing me her materials and how she cut the wool. I was only 9 and she was a little bit of a scary lady to me so I didn't ask her if I could try it. Now I'm 63 and want to start out with a simple needle punch project.
My word, what a gem of a woman! I am newer (few years) to all of this but I can say from my heart I am “hooked”. Once I am fully retired I will be heading to Nova Scotia to see all it has to offer. Thank you
Fantastic! Happy you are "Hooked" and when you come to Nova Scotia, be sure to stop by. We are at 1026 Peggy's Cove Road, in Glen Margaret. Would love to meet you.
Thank u 4 ur film crew 4 sharing u on the internet. I was happily surfing and u popped up, wow, u r a wonderful women and so enthusiastic in ur wool, as I love wool 2. Love, love, love, ur William Morris rug and peace Dove 4 Ukraine, just beautiful. I wonder if there is a pattern 4 both in ur stash 4 us learners. This is my newest craft, just didn't know anything about any of this. I am in New Zealand and I sure will be looking very hard if there is a group here. But in the meantime, I would love 2 get ur Loop mag from Nova Scotia. Will look in2 it very soon. Keep well and yes, I also love ur horse piece of art on ur wall, just so perfect. Cheers Crisy
Wow, this is REALLY AWESOME! Thank you for doing this video! This type of thing is so important to many people. Such beautiful work. I am going to check out this channel for sure! She is just adorable, and very very knowledgeable and easy to listen too. How cute that she still has her first rug she did!
I sooo enjoyed this video and interview. Mostly because Ms Sadler answered every question in a short and concise way. Really enjoyed seeing all of her creativity and hearing about her process with dyeing, designing, wool usage, etc. I have done needle punch and a very little rug hooking but she helped me to see a more in depth picture of the art. Thank you
@@lynnbomar5720 I would suggest 30 minutes on the bare/basic tools a person needs to get started e.g. frame types, backing, yarn, tool, etc.) Then if they decide this is not for them, their investment is minimal. Then some basic suggestions as to a simple design (with visual examples, either drawings or actual samples). Also ideas on where to find design ideas. Just some suggestions.
Ms. Sadler: it was a pleasure to visit your home. I love that you hang your work all over. It should be enjoyed!!!! As a hooker myself, I truly appreciate your work⭐
Thank you Judy for sharing your passion. At 32:24 there was a picture of a rug with a snow scene, house and hunter in the magazine 'The Loop'. That rug pattern was done by my Great Aunt and hung over my dad's chair for many years. Could you tell me where it came from? This aunt was much loved and the rug is passed into the family- but I am inspired by it to start rug hooking myself🙂
Howdy to you Connie. Yes, you are absolutely correct about God given gifts. All these amazing talents come from Him. Fascinating aren't they. Thanks for recognizing that important fact and sharing your insight. Ivan
