We ate this all the time when I was a kid. We had a butter bread folded in half for our side & a Large glass of milk for a beverage. My Dad had a beer and Mom had ice water with a lemon. Nostalgia!
We actually still have this about once a month, nice to have it in the cupboard after a shitty day when you don’t wanna mess around in the kitchen much.
Yes! This is in our monthly meal rotation, however we make it from scratch which is really easy! A little fresh shredded gouda and hot sauce on top is delicious!! My childhood favorite was the crunchy taco.
This is definitely nostalgic for me! Grew up on hamburger helper, tuna helper, sloppy joes, fish sticks and all of the other trashy food you can think of 😂 we didn’t have a lot of money but I still crave these things to this day and I’m 33. Keep up the great content!
When I was in Boy Scouts in the mid 70s I was voted the troop cook. Hamburger Helper was a godsend. It's one skillet, 4 or 5 boxes, a pound of burger per box, simple, tasty and enough to feed and army of hungry teens, of which I was usually the hungriest. The favorites were Potato Stroganoff, Lasagna, Chili Mac, Beef Pasta and the two they had with rice, Spanish and Asian.
Any Hamburger Helper-esque type dish needs some crushed Doritos on top. Adds flavor and needed texture change. I’m with you on the added elements, which is probably why I haven’t had this in so long and just make my own version. That is weird though that a ground beef eating family never had this. I’m sure those Soviet Union hackers now will want Levi’s and Hamburger Helper, LOL.
Dunno why people love to hate on hamburger helper, I love this stuff. The 4 cheese shells and the Lasagna are my two favorites. Something similar happened to me in my apartment the people above me clogged the pipes so bad one burst and they had to come in and dig up the floor. I got to stay in a nice hotel for a week fully paid for and I got all new carpet and tile so it wasn't that bad in the end.
@@HeySeanEly You can throw some shaker parmesan cheese on most of the flavors to kick em up a notch or two! Even better is steal the cheese pack from a mac n cheese box and shake that on, thank me later! ;)
I love Hamburger Helper! My favs are the Chili Mac, Lasagna, and the Spaghetti, though it's hard to find. Ive had the cheeseburger version before but I have a complicated relationship with cheese lol. Your version looks better than mine did though.
Thanks for answering my question, dude. Seeing all the different work you've done is really fascinating. We weren't a Hamburger Helper family because it was too expensive (Corey would understand 😂)
that daisy cutter beer is amazing! ive had that hamburger helper also some of the tuna ones. it's pretty good but i add crushed red pepper flakes to it also i add a little shredded cheese, sean i love what you have done w this channel its soooooo entertaining. great job dude!
Just like some of the other comments said they like to doctor it up that's what I do I put some peppers and onions in there and it makes it taste a lot better maybe a little garlic
The nostalgia PTSD. Had this all the time with extra macaroni noodles added to spread it out, back when a pound of ground beef was a dollar. Used it to feed a family of 4 (two of which were high school aged boys) and our side dish was Wonder Bread slices. I kept eating it until "friends" of mine made fun of me for it while I was in college. Took awhile to get over the "food shame" they threw at me. But, this is what lead me to wanting to learn to cook.
I love eating it with some white bread. Or as my dad would say “light bread.” Also good with lots of cheese. We always had green beans with it as well.
Love me some hamburger helper. I like them all but kinda stay with Salisbury or Stroganoff. Also to add more starch, I put the helper on top of Bob Evans mashed potatoes.
Hamburger helper is legit. People dog on it too much. I’ve been poor most my life and that was a delicacy when we could afford hamburger meat. That cheeseburger macaroni is good with some pickles, ketchup, and hotsauce. Makes it taste like a lose meat hamburger.
I use to get the salisbury steak Hamburger Helper, I saw vid of American goulash, I just gathered all the ingredients and I'm going to make, simple easy meal
Man I'm so old! I was eating this stuff on a weekly basis in the 70s! (That was back when ground beef was about 1/5 the price it is today) Adding this to my shopping list for tomorrow, I've already got a can of Spam & Dinty Moore stew in my cupboard from watching your videos! I gotta donate soon to see my name in big print :^)
Can’t wait to ge that name shining on the screen, Douglas. Also, so pumped you’re getting the foods after seeing my videos. That Dinty Moore stew was SO good. 🔥
Duuuuuude! Cheesy Enchilada Hamburger Helper IS my CHILDHOOD! We used to make that, add more beef and more cheese ontop of it, then put it in Tortillas like tacos or burritos (up to you) and put hot sauce on it. You gotta try that!
Yes this is just nostalgia and memories probably had hamburger helper every two weeks my mom would cut up onions and green and red peppers just to add color and veggies 🤣 tried most of them then feed them to my kid's 🤣 great video making feel warm inside thinking about my mom. Add hot sauce on your own plate was my go to awesome video 👍👍
I like the cheeseburger macaroni hamburger helper, but my wife won’t eat it. So I haven’t had it in years. We do make tuna helper every now and then though.
Man, I haven't had hamburger helper in prob like 10 years, but I might have revisit it, that looked good. I'm definitely getting some of those beers too. Looks like Maplewood is available all around me. Not sure about Half Acre but I'll keep an eye out.
I dig the cheesy ranch burger one. I don’t eat it a lot now but in college I would get it and make 2 meals out of it. Cheap and filling as a broke college kid! I LOVED the beef taco one (with noodles). Sometime in the late 00s, they stopped selling it in the US and switched to the taco one with rice and Fritos which I don’t like nearly as much. If I could find beef taco online for cheap, I’d import that shit tomorrow
Love all your plants in the apartment. Will you please tell us; are you into it to the point that you know the names and care well for them, or do you just like the look and water them occasionally?
this is an occasional staple for me, the chesseburger mac or beef stroganoff. just easy and simple, maybe add some additions. It is worth it, personally
I like higher fat for burgers, but when adding it to recipes like this my wife has now poopoo'd higher fat beef... but I don't mind. Have you found 90/10 hard to find or just crazy expensive? I'm out here buying 90/10 at Aldi's.
Used to be alot better but dang man somethin happened noodles seem texturally different sauce seasoning have altered different kinds imo aswell now. I rarely buy anymore sadly
Listening to this video through earphones, The sound of you chewing it is disturbing. Not a critique of you, I think it has to do with the mushiness of the Hamburger Helper, which I've never eaten.
Best video yet…hamburger helper is LEGIT. Brings back loads of memories. Hope you’re still enjoying yourself Sean, content is bangin’!
Oh my gosh! I make that for my grandkids all the time, they absolutely love it!
We ate this all the time when I was a kid. We had a butter bread folded in half for our side & a Large glass of milk for a beverage. My Dad had a beer and Mom had ice water with a lemon. Nostalgia!
Yesss!! buttered soft white bread but we would add some velveeta at the end...
America on a fork. So proud. Most patriotic food yet, awesome video.
I had this in the past. I doctored it up with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and extra cheddar. My favorite was the Hamburger Helper Hash. ❤️❤️
I’ve never had the hash. Sounds good.
@@AkodoNoEyes it was really good. They stopped making it for some reason. Makes me sad.

I had this a lot as a kid, and loved it. I definitely had friends who had no idea what it was and wouldn't touch it.
My kids love this. I dress it up with bacon, velveeta, onions, pickles, and ketchup. Tastes like a bacon cheeseburger.

That's pretty good stuff. Their stroganoff is good to.
Sean, next time toss some sauteed onion along w the ground beef and packet mixture...
They are way lower quality than before and i feel like the sodium was also increased in an attempt to mask the lower quality ingredients over time.
Sean did I miss you adding milk to the helper dish??🤔
no doubt good to add other stuff such as kielbasa and other such things, could always add some cheese wiz
