In 1990 I was in Manila, Philippines, participating in a Campus Crusade Christian Conference. There I discovered Jonathan's music,I bought the AFRICA cassette. I was very happy when I found out that he became a Christian. I still enjoy his music. THANK YOU. from Lima Peru.
My father(RIP) introduced me to Jonathan Butler and my love for Jazz music took flight. So many memories and no one does it like Butler. Great African tunes...
I never really had a liking for Jazz i was so much in rock Jimi Hendrix , Deep purple and other rock bands , but when i first listened to Jonathan Butler Africa album in the early 1990s i instanly got hooked to his music and started appreciating Jazz and i must say Jonathan Butler introduced me to Jazz
I heard, I knew and I fell in love with Jonathan Butler in the early years of my life. I'm South African and heard many genres of South African music but nothing comes close to the super talent of Jonathan Butler. I simply love this guy's music 🎶🎵 and I will always. His music lives with me throughout the years of my life.
About 10 or so years ago I saw him busking in the streets of the Rosebank Mall. He had about 10 of his buddies with him. The public threw him a lot of money, and every now and then he and his buddies rushed to the basement toilets for important meetings. I requested he play an Al Jarreau song, "Morning Mr Shoe shine man" that he played no problem. I did not know who he was, but I saw the talent and invited him to my recording studio, he did not accept the invitation, but mentioned his name, which I had heard of.😆
I pray that Jonathan IS a changed man. His talents are from God and I hope that he truly knows this. This is a powerful testament to our Heavenly father, amen?
6:28 destruction begins, Jonathan, George, drummer, bassist, destroy, people are in addition to their mastery and so harmonious and playable it's amazing. Thank you.

I can't remember how i become aware of it but it has find a verg special space in my heart to this day. What a song! I can appreciate an overall translation from anyone if word by word can't be done.
JB is just the most talented musician I have seen perform ... if I could only see one more live performance in my life it would be JB... 🐐🐐🐐🐐saw him live a couple of times and he just gives EVERYTHING no matter the size of the crowd ... swear he made a woman feint once in a San Antonio ballroom with his opening refrain of I'm On My Knees ...
Privelidge of meeting Jonathon in Cape Town, we were early twenties, saw him 30 odd years ago in London, first ever CD I bought, going home transports me back to happy days in South Africa, what a ledgend
