Cats will often scratch your favorite chair because it smells the most like you. They are trying to combine both of your scents for marking. So while it seems fracturing to us, to them, it's letting everyone else know that this whole place is for you two. Place a short scratching post right beside the chair arm to give her something appropriate to scratch while still being able to combine your smells.

Our cats scratching post is always in the same place (near the couch in the living room) he uses it everyday, multiple times a day.But he also likes to scratch on the couch. Having it where he can get to it AND it is his favorite one doesn't always mean they will NOT scratch on the furniture.

There are also repellant sprays and other such items to deter them from specific places/things if they're still going to them despite the cardboard and posts.
Just so y'all know, not all faucets sold online are actually technically legal to install. If you change out a faucet in a rental unit, you may be liable for damages if it bursts, so make sure you find a legitimate seller and that the faucet is rated for the water pressure that your unit has. If you have 80 lbs of pressure for instance, make sure that the faucet you buy is certified for that pressure as most faucets these days use braided supply lines and many companies are very very very cheap. Also this applies to bidets. Never EVER leave a bidet hose under pressure. You MUST have a dedicated shut off and you should always shut off the water pressure to the hose when you're not home. You absolutely can be found liable when those things burst or leak.

$400 faucet for "cheap & renter friendly" really giving those Hunger Games Capitol vibes Edit: To clarify- because people have some pretty snarky responses: 1 The faucet looks like a detailed Panem insignia, hence the Hunger Games reference 2 There was no indication that OP thrifted this faucet for cheap, only that the faucet is $400 MSRP and we know how misleading people can be with they way they phrase things. Additionally $400 for any faucet is far too much money, again, referencing the Hunger Games for how this is materialistic and overly adorned 3 it is not renter-friendly to replace a faucet unless the renter has experience plumbing. I've definitely seen a few people say "oh it can't be that hard" and then sit on the floor of their bathroom in defeat with parts of their sink scattered everywhere. My personal opinion? This is an ugly faucet that is overpriced and I can't imagine putting it anywhere in my house unless I wanted to move into the Clown College Student Housing.
Right! 😂 I mean, I guess you could apply the same idea using a cool looking but cheap one? 🤔 That said I don't understand how swapping the plumbing fixtures out, drilling right through the wall, or adopting a cat that claws stuff to the point of destruction are in any way "renter friendly" 😂. Also, those puck lights come with strong adhesive to put them up and they are very much not renter friendly! They'll take part of your wall with it if you remove it! Neither is the other adhesive she uses in a couple of the projects.
Just FYI there are many thrift stores and their like where I have gotten lights, furniture and faucets for a fraction of their original cost. I spent $30 on a faucet that is almost $200 new. Never underestimate the frugality of others and you can learn cool tricks instead of assumptions.
@@cleanslate9620 what a cool trick you taught me today I will take this into consideration and never comment on a public platform again without first thinking about how I might be offending another stranger by making a joke about the hypocrisy of the video, my bad dog
I think it's awesome that you go renter friendly with your stuff, still with that many things needing to be changed to move out someday, is it really renter friendly?..😅
"renter friendly" But you need to know that you are going to move at least 1 year in advance to have time to repaint everything and return everything to its original condition xD
For some people living in a beautiful space is very important. Having to get rid of these things one far far far away day doesn’t really matter. Most people live in a space for years. It would take probably one day to fix all of this back. And when she says renter friendly she’s obviously not talking about the painted walls. Changing faucets though takes ten minutes tops. Filling holes, also ten minutes.
Yeah all this is going to take ages to repaint. It's one thing to decorate your rented space to make it feel more like your own, but this is going to the extremes, to the point where it's financially foolish. Who would have the time or money to repaint all this? It's going to be a nightmare if she decides to move. @@mmm.tortillas
The difference between you and other home decorators is, you don’t even have to try. I just think it’s amazing how you bring all the colors and vibes to each room together!! I’m nowhere near a professional as you but I’m learning so much!!!
We can't even hang anything on our walls let alone drilling holes everywhere. That's not renter friendly. For me I use 3M strips and they come off with ease ,we place things on the walls and take them off for every inspection 😂
Sometimes they still just destroy furniture, I have 2 6ft cat towers, an entire room with cat toys and other scratching posts and other scratching posts scattered around the house and my cat still scratches furniture. Before you ask, they are different textures and I play with her daily 🤷♀️
I'm not sure how strict your landlord is but even in subsidized housing, they told us nail/screw holes are fine, it's an easy patch job. To make it renter friendly though, try using the command hook strips or nano tape to hang things!! I've hung just about all my wall decorations with nano tape, besides what definitely needed nails, and it rocks. That little drip deco would definitely be fine with some nano tape holding it up.
As a property manager I can tell you some of these changes/additions would be a breach of your lease. Do NOT change ANY plumbing or electrical fixtures without first consulting your landlord! And then get approval in WRITING!
My lease says the tenants are not allowed to change their own fixtures. Now, apparently this woman knows what she’s doing but many tenants do not… I have had tenants create thousands of dollars worth of damage because they attempted to change a faucet on their own, which ended up leaking into the apartment below and causing thousands of dollars worth of damage… I don’t recommend just anybody do this is my point.
I don’t care how experienced the tenant is.. we don’t allow them to change anything.. it’s just bad business! Eventually, the tenant will claim that something “had to be changed… Their opinion of what the value of their work/materials is, is never going to match the opinion of the owner, it’s just a mess waiting to happen. If I see the tenant has changed anything in an apartment during their tendency, we have a serious problem! I make it very clear at the lease signing that absolutely NO changes are allowed!

Edit:
To clarify- because people have some pretty snarky responses:
1 The faucet looks like a detailed Panem insignia, hence the Hunger Games reference
2 There was no indication that OP thrifted this faucet for cheap, only that the faucet is $400 MSRP and we know how misleading people can be with they way they phrase things. Additionally $400 for any faucet is far too much money, again, referencing the Hunger Games for how this is materialistic and overly adorned
3 it is not renter-friendly to replace a faucet unless the renter has experience plumbing.
May the odds....
😂
Right! 😂 I mean, I guess you could apply the same idea using a cool looking but cheap one? 🤔
That said I don't understand how swapping the plumbing fixtures out, drilling right through the wall, or adopting a cat that claws stuff to the point of destruction are in any way "renter friendly" 😂.

People like you does not deserve to live in rented places, but THEIR OWN!! ❤❤❤Take care! You have some enviable talent ❤
So the tape reco is just epic. And your eye for complementary styles is also really good. 🫡
the tape thing is brilliant
Filling holes, also ten minutes.
exactly. i cannot imagine how this is financially good (i guess) if you’re just renting the place 😭
Forget just being renter-friendly, these are just clever ideas all-around.
The difference between you and other home decorators is, you don’t even have to try. I just think it’s amazing how you bring all the colors and vibes to each room together!! I’m nowhere near a professional as you but I’m learning so much!!!
She just uses Pinterest
And doesn't credit the original artists
I LOVE THIS YOUR ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I can tell ya right now, my landlord would not be happy with a lot of that lol
"renter friendly"
Proceeds to drill the walls
I´ve been allowed to drill into every rental wall ive been in, as long as you patch them up after
We can't even hang anything on our walls let alone drilling holes everywhere. That's not renter friendly. For me I use 3M strips and they come off with ease ,we place things on the walls and take them off for every inspection 😂
@@Honey_1012 It's obscene landlords can expect people to live without even putting up a sodding picture on the walls!
@@Sofia-lg6yznever met a renter that knows how to spackle a wall
@@squid45actually neither had I until I moved to Germany, seems like they all learn it in kindergarten here lol
I dont think the drilling one is renter friendly…
Looks like you gotta catify your space if the cats is tearing it up
I second this! there's so many good ways to catify that can match your home decor. it's worth it for your cat babies!
Sometimes they still just destroy furniture, I have 2 6ft cat towers, an entire room with cat toys and other scratching posts and other scratching posts scattered around the house and my cat still scratches furniture. Before you ask, they are different textures and I play with her daily 🤷♀️
Omg that faucet! Lots of creative ideas here! ❤
I’m IN LOVE with the aesthetic!!
I’m not sure how drilling into the wall is considered renter friendly
I'm not sure how strict your landlord is but even in subsidized housing, they told us nail/screw holes are fine, it's an easy patch job.
To make it renter friendly though, try using the command hook strips or nano tape to hang things!! I've hung just about all my wall decorations with nano tape, besides what definitely needed nails, and it rocks. That little drip deco would definitely be fine with some nano tape holding it up.
You can spackle the holes when you leave
Tbh, what’s the point of following her if we can’t be inspired by what she creates and duplicate her creations?
We shouldn't follow someone who stomps on budding artists. I'm glad her sponsor dropped her.
wtf does that mean?

If this is considered renter friendly (i.e., drilling holes everywhere), then what isn't considered renter friendly😑
OK this video is actually very good and truly renter friendly minus the holes in the wall. I APPRECIATE YOU!
Your videos are amazing!!!
As a property manager I can tell you some of these changes/additions would be a breach of your lease.
Do NOT change ANY plumbing or electrical fixtures without first consulting your landlord! And then get approval in WRITING!
As long as everything is returned to original condition there’s no issue. Keep the original faucet and switch it back when you move.
Don’t do any of her DIYs you guys. She’ll have a hissy fit.
Don’t do any of these or she’ll say you stole from her
That doesn’t scare me at all-since I’d know what to expect, it might be funny.
don't worry, you couldn't pay me to do any of these
she didn’t invent any of these ideas anyways so if she says that she’s trippin 😂
I love how your whole house is your personality that’s great ❤
Oh my god this all looks so good.
U copied my diy 😢 /j
Imagine getting rid of furniture because of minor pet damage, i'd have to be able to afford either first 🤡
Dang it looks amazing!
