Suisei said the studio staff were prepared for a whole recording day (so like 12+ hours) for her to record every vocal track, and she ended up recording it all in 6 hours. Also, this song was absolutely beautiful live in 4th fes

Miko has some of the best clips in this history of vtubing, period. She's one of the greatest to ever do it. Just seeing her endearingly dumb expressions makes me instantly smile.

Planetarium is such a beautiful song, I absolutely love it and damn, Deco*27 (btw pronounced Deco Nina) composing music with Suisei's voice as an instrument, incredible.
miComet really is a great combo every single time, a duo that has found each other, wonderful business partner. Fantastic cover!
Miko's original song Kagetsu no Yume is great and a bit different from other Miko songs, a great vibe.

I was listening to Deco27 and I had no idea who Hatsune Miku was. A Japanese metal band (Hanabie) did two Deco27 covers. Animal and Cinderella. It's pretty hilarious Hanabie has a screamer and a singer. Doing Hatsune Miku together is hilarious.

It's crazy that you can watch someone with this much talent just playing Tetris. Or whatever. Her Duolingo stream was hilarious. Hi honey.

Miko and Suisei also sang Idol live on Miko's recent concert.
As some other comments said it was mostly Miko pushing for it, starting with the song first releasing (when the full version wasn't even out yet) which lead to first them singing it on Miko's live and then publishing the cover on her channel.
Also there is a clip from some months ago where Suisei, while playing Minecraft, actually talked about singing songs and Idol came up because it was a recent popular song (and many fans wanted her to sing it, especially as she had recommended the Oshi no Ko manga to viewers and the fact that she had small stars in her eyes kind of like in Oshi no Ko). If I remember correctly she said something like she wasn't fully satisfied with herself when she tried singing it herself.
Anyway, it is good Miko was able to convince her so that we got both a cover and live performance of Idol with MiComet.
Planetarium is a very beautiful song and definitely my favourite of Holo*27 (which I am pretty sure is not just my pro-Suisei bias talking). I don't really have any concrete ranking of Suisei songs but the acapella nature of it really emphasizes her amazing voice so it is definitely on the top quarter or so.

Planetarium was the final track on a full album of songs Deco27 produced with Hololive talents. So I think that’s why it’s maybe a bit of a departure for him. He was doing ten new songs for the album, and this was the big finisher, so he got a bit more creative. Honestly this song, in addition to being the surest showcase of Suisei’s raw ability stands as some of the biggest proof of Deco27’s talent as a composer to me. Just masterful stuff.

  • @LapisD
    @LapisD ปีที่แล้ว +3

Fun fact: the microphone Suisei is holding at 6:25 was made by two indie Vtubers that are great friends with Suisei. They started their careers almost at the same time and they helped Suisei go through the rough part of her journey.
When Suisei got her 3D model and was going to do a live showing it, they design this microphone as a gift and Suisei made sure to shown it on the stream and thank them for everything they did for her (You can find their reaction on TH-cam crying while watching it). So it's really wholesome how she decided to use the microphone on this MV too.

I'm so happy you got to Planetarium! I was sure you would shed a tear for this one, I did. Miko and Pekora did a Deco27 song together as well, called Mosh Race. Mosh Race live from Holofes was really good, and Hololive approved to watch free.

  • @Kristhanos
    @Kristhanos ปีที่แล้ว +21

    Double reaction? YES!!
    EDIT for further response:
Planetarium is for me a song that really put my soul travelling up to the majestic vast outer space and relieve all the pain that stuck in my heart. I cried when hear this song for the time and will cry again if I hear this song when I'm low, but really I feel relieved right after that. Listening the song again after reading and understanding the lyrics will put the pain into another level.
Suisei and DECO*27 (it's pronounced "Deco-Nina" btw) really put extra effort for this song because the recording process for this kind of "a capella" song is really stressful and very energy consuming since Suisei has to record a ton of tracks for each back-vocals (I supposed it's around 13-16 tracks of vocals) and DECO himself must be there on the recording place for personally supervising the quality of each track and the mixing-mastering process is completely more complicated IMO.
For the "Idol" cover, what can I say? MiComet is the ultimate business partner in Hololive. Who knew that 2 vocals with a complete contrast of tone-colour and singing style will compliment each other? I definitely didn't know this before listening to their covers together. I am definitely lacking words to describe how amazing they are.
Btw, if you haven't reacted to "Hololive Shuffle Medley" from the 2023 New Year Countdown, I definitely recommend you to look at the video.

This is the first time I'm hearing them (miko?) and I'm amazed by how amzing such contrasting vocals can sound together. Their voices are so different that you never expect them to be able to sing together but when you actually hear it it creates this amazingly layered and unique sound that is very unexpected yet so fitting to the song 🤩

when i first listened to planetraium when it got released, i thought that the first part where she does the “du-du-du-du-du” only contained 3-5 layers of her voice. Suisei then later on talked about the BTS’s of making the MV, I fr was flabbergasted at first when she said it has 13 layers of her voice, but no wonder it sounds so perfect, and the lyrics…my god

  • @samlim7963
    @samlim7963 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Fun fact about suisei planetarium: suisei spent about 6hrs recording the song and all their layers, with some parts having up to 12 layers which is insane

After listening to MiComet and the original they slowed down the "rap track" portion of the song in their cover by at least a beat. I'm assuming it's so that they could more fluidly pass the track back and forth it felt weird for me since I had IDOL on loop for a long time after first hearing it since I loved the song and its darker undertone so hearing this during that part something didn't feel right and I now understand why.

Day 121 of recommending the Beyblade openings.
There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. Planetarium always gets me, it's such a beautiful lullaby. And for Idol, Miko may be an amazing comedian and entertainer but she is also a consummate professional when it comes to the idol side of her job. MiComet is truly a power duo!
The lyrics to Planetarium for anyone interested, full credit to a comment by @rasen7721 on the original video:
I can’t seem to shake these little failures from my mind
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen them in my dreams
Hey, do you feel the same? So ready up till the morning comes
No matter how we run, will we ever be able to move forward?
If only, if only I could just close this infinite distance some
I’ve started to hate it here, it’s just another night like that
    … right?
But sorry, I just can’t protect you all the time, that’s why
Some nights, you’ll still have to cry yourself to sleep alone
So you can’t say some things, you can’t, you can’t, you lock yourself up instead
But show me everything, everything, even what you don’t need
If I just sing, will that bring a little comfort to your life?
Or am I too weak to save you in the end?
Some nights, I’ll have to cry myself to sleep alone too
Can you see me here? Hey, are you listening?
Am I too weak to keep going against all this pain?
I just have to handle everything alone, is that it?
But maybe that’s impossible, and I’m just not good enough
    … right?
But even so, on those nights, on those nights where I can’t sleep
I want to find a light within my empty heart that I can send to you
So when you want to die (stay with me), just hang in there (and open up)
This bright blue light (don’t you stop), it’s a star sign of endless hope
If I just sing, will that bring a little comfort to your life?
That might be all that I can do for you, but still
I’ll keep on singing out, I’ll be a star sign of living hope
Can you shake these little failures from your mind?
Have you seen them in those dreams of yours so many times?
You know I feel the same, so ready up till the morning comes
But let’s just get some sleep and start a brand new day together
Planetarium - English translation by Rasen
    Lyrics / Composition: Deco*27
    Vocals: Hoshimachi Suisei
