Watching them enjoy it less and less each time was so funny. And I agree with them. If he just said it like half as many times at least then it would be a track with more replay value. I live Freddie’s verse but I’m not about to fast forward to listen to it lol imma just skip it.
This a certified classic and Kanye hit the nail on the head with his opening bars. “This the shit that make rap ___ mad.” He literally talking bout y’all 😂
“Certified classic” really? You’re still listening to this? Come on bro everything in rap fans eyes is either the best or worst thing ever made, you can never just call something alright 😂
The weird voice dude is Jay of the Jay and Silent Bob characters from the movie Dogma, amongst others. All directed by Kevin Smith, who also plays Silent Bob. Jason Mewes is Jay.
The "weird" things in his songs are usually the parts that get stuck in people's heads, become iconic over time and then what crowds are screaming the loudest at future live shows. Loads of people hated the bleached a hole line in 'Father Stretch My Hands' and said it ruined the song but what do you think audiences sing along to the most whenever that track is played now? Love him or hate him Ye is 20+ years deep into his music career and still as relevant as ever for a reason, he knows sound, he knows hooks, he knows earworms, he knows marketing and he just knows what works. Also you can tell that sometimes he just likes to have fun and ride a vibe because it feels good. Loads of people hated 808s when it dropped, loads of people hated Yeezus when it dropped etc but now most regard them as ahead of their time, hugely influential classic albums. Thank goodness there's still a major artist willing to take risks and not just stick to the same tired formulas over and over again because they've run out of ideas. No one else is releasing major Hip Hop albums in 2024 that have songs that sound like Hood rat, Paperwork, Fuk Sumn, Carnival, Beg Forgiveness etc and Vultures 1 isn't even his most experimental project.
The only song that’s very unique is beg forgiveness, overt other song you listed has been done before, and there’s nothing wrong with that. They still sounded great
Nothing is completely original at this stage in human history but I stand by saying I haven't personally heard anything that sounds quite like Hood rat, Paperwork, Fuk Sumn or Carnival on another major Hip Hop album, maybe on something a bit more underground or leftfield.
@@JayvawnThe only person who sounds like this is earlier Kanye..lol People haven't even reached DONDA yet.. People still have the beat selection of 2015...🤷🏽♂️
I get what yall are saying on Kanye’s part. Trust me I do, but it’s one of the songs, and albums honestly, that just grow on you. I start to appreciate the weirdness out of Kanye just because it’s something new that I never hear in songs anymore. But don’t think Kanye doesn’t know that either… he literally starts the song with “This is what makes rap ‘dudes’ mad” I hated the album at first but now I love it. Classic Kanye
Kanye is one of those guys. When you first listen to it, you're like he's got to be joking, but then as you listen you appreciate the little nuances and how they blend together. It's weird how he does it. I thought this song was actually really dope. He just kind of does it the way he feels and you never know when the hook will come in or when it's going to leave. Freddie Gibbs also went dope on this track
Its ridiculous, he's done the same thing with an entire album (Yeezus) and several songs off of TLOP and Donda. His music grows on you like weeds, even if you don't like it. Heck, my least favourite song on the album was Paperwork and the more I listen to it the better it seems to sound
The word I can best describe for this guys latest music is like literal hacks 😂 he's not going for like Grammy...hes trying to push the ballot for what is literally accepted as "GOOD" pun intended
The Gibbs like about Maybach/Toyota was a reference to the song One Way Flight with Benny, some of his other lines are specificly covering his ex posing for pics with guys he has been beefing with
I'm glad y'all listened to this song because I think this is how you'll feel about most of the album. Great production, but lyrically sophomoric. Ty sounds great on the album. It feels like a bunch of unedited freestyles over fire instrumentals.

Okay here what I imagine happened in my own head, Kanye heard or remembered that line from the movie, and then maybe said it, the first time he says it you can actually just hear him begin to laugh and then you just keeps it going, this is almost like “I want you, she’s so heavy” vibes to me. Please don’t kill me Beatles fan I’m one of y’all, but really in that song Lennon says the same thing over and over again, just like Ye in this song and after awhile you can’t help but sing it, even when the song isn’t playing. As ridiculous and hilarious as that Kanye line is it’s a perfect fit for this song, especially because this kinda elevates Kanye as more than just a rapper, I believe he has earned the right to make the kind of music he wants, whether he has something great to say to go with lyrically is almost a toss up at this point. But, that where you insert someone like Gibbs who destroys this beat and the verse. So, yeah Kanye still makes Bangers, don’t get it twisted.
