The XT250 is like an old friend. I love mine. It can go anywhere like an easy button. Since I turned 50+ in years I have left the big bore marketplace. 500cc is the largest displacement in my garage and I am happily smiling. Cheers!

I had an 87 XT600, snd what a blast that bike was. Heavy, but did the job for fire roads and trails and stretches of freeway.

The 30mm riser and 1" taller seat from Seat Concepts was an ergo game changer for me. 5'9" with 30" inseam, the knees weren't happy. It is amazing the difference and an inch makes. Thats what she said ;)

I'm 6feet and whenever I can, I go with 2" risers. I just make sure the brake, throttle & clutch cables work without having to swap them.

    Fun!
It's nice to see you get out and exploring the back country.

When I had an XT250, I used a combination of Tusk 30mm bar risers and an aftermarket bar that had a bend with more rise, together probably raising the hand placement about 1.5 inches. I do remember I was about at the limit of either the clutch or throttle cable, can't remember which. I kept the stock seat but for all day comfort I bought one of those Mad Dog ATV seat covers from Walmart and stitched a sheep skin to that. I could take it off for short rides if I wanted to and it did provide comfort for long rides, if looking a little ridiculous. It opened up the seat to peg distance and the bar and bar risers really helped to open up the cockpit and made it better for standing.

I do light enduro and singles on my goat, it handles it very well! It shines in slow technical trails, the suspension is much more suited for this kind of riding. It’s very trials like and easy to throw around..
If you wanna make it look a lil more aggressive give me a yell, it costs nothing 👍

The terrain looks familiar. 😊 We really enjoyed riding around in your area. Good video.

Can't wait to get my bike. Still stuck between the xt and tw. I'm not looking to go fast, I'm looking to go explore and go far.

It's a tough choice, no doubt. I lean more towards the XT due to the slight increase in power, you really feel it for sporadic highway sections between dirt. Both bikes are bullet proof.

Enjoying your videos. I have a Yamaha XT225 and I also live in St George (near Snow Canyon) so I recognize the landscape and some of the dirt roads in your videos. I am in my fifties and the XT is my first bike, but I am now interested to try my hand at something bigger, most likely a DR650 (and then take it to Escalante or Moab some day). I got the XT for exploring the local dirt roads around town and to get experience riding and it has been a great little bike so far.

I was set on an XT for a few months, but decided it would be too small. Bought a DRZ and it still feels like a bicycle under me. It’ll be great for off road though.

Tusk 30mm risers on my xt250. Work good. No cable issues.

I added 30mm handlebar risers to mine. I don’t think I can go higher without changing out for longer cables

I had the Tusk 1-inch risers on my XT. Although I would like to have tried additional rise, I believe doing so would have required new cabling, because I felt like I was stretching the cables to their limit with the 1-inch rise. Curious to see what happens if you try that taller option. I'm also 5'10", but I'm built like a dachshund with only a 30-inch inseam, so we probably fit the bike differently.

I had the tusk 30 mm bar riders on mine whatever that is in inches and dont buy the seat concepts seat it's just as bad as the stock one. I also had the Corbin seat it was the better one it was just a little too low for me

Thanks for video! If you could only have one… would you want the XT250 or CRF300L?
